Re: Football Fans!
i'm intersted in the jets/colts game and man i really can't decide. no offense to those colts fans out there but i like peyton about as much as i like the dentist... but same kinda goes for the jets!
i do hope the packers beat the eagles though...
as far as baltimore vs the cheifs... we haven't played the chiefs in regualar season and we had a tight game w/ baltimore back in october... but TB and my boys seem to have gotten into a groove lately so i'm hoping either way we kick some serious tail!
either way i'm going to kick back on this "stress free sunday" as my boys have a bye... next weekend though... WATCH OUT!

Hmmmm....
I am thinking Indy, Baltimore, Packers, and New Orleans
I still think it is going to be a Falcons vs Pats suberbowl!
Shmel's Blog
Who will I think will win? Indy, Baltimore, Philly, and New Orleans.
Who do I WANT to win?
-Jets (as a Pats fan, I'm torn on this - it's always fun to see Peyton cry in New England during the playoffs, but man would it be even more fun to dismantle the Jets again..)
-Kansas City (I'm afraid of Baltimore and do NOT want to play them! And it would be fun to face our old coaches from Patriots past and to play our old QB Matt Cassell)
-Green Bay (I have family in Madison - I will be sporting my official cheesehead! Oh, and I also because I hate the Eagles, especially since DH is a diehard Cowboys fan)
-New Orleans (love Drew Brees!)
Who do I think will win? Saints, Colts, Packers (crossing my fingers!), and Baltimore (though I really hope Kansas City wins!)
Of course I want Packers to go all the way! It could happen. . . GO PACK GO!

I haven't paid close attention to everyone playing. However, we are rooting for the Packers (H is a huge fan) and I think the Saints will win their game. As for the other 2 games, not sure.
It would be great to see the Packers in the Super Bowl, esp since we host a super bowl party almost every year. Hubby will be soooooooo excited to see his boys play.
Ah...a post after my own heart!
Who I want to win:
Saturday: Jets, Seahawks...
Sunday: Ravens, Eagles
Who I think will win:
Saturday: Jets, NO...
Sunday: Ravens (although I have to say...I always get a little nervous when EVERYONE is picking us to win...we play our best playoff ball under the radar...but we're favored, and I'll just have to live with it!), and Green Bay.
And Kiki: I totally feel you...I honestly believe we are are one of the only teams in the AFC besides the Steelers who could mount a serious charge against the Pats...
For any of you girls who are my FB friends, you know this already, but I tend to root for the underdogs. So, even though I'd love to see my Ravens go all the way, if for any reason we lose, I could see myself rooting for KC to continue "upset fever". How cool would it be for Cassel and crew to upset Brady and the Patsies...er, Pats??
Danie - you and I would not be able to be friends in real life. hehe i would almost agree with you if you said thinking of his hair grosses you out but his face?!? nooooooo! not mention he is a superb athlete.
lol geez i hope it's not packers/pats as there may be some spilled blood on the april 2010 nestie board! haha

Oh, don't get me started on that hair. Did someone tell him that looks good? If so, who? And why????
And I think my hatred of the Patriots only stems from Bil-a-cheat and and Brady. Once those two are gone, I think I will be better. Brady is a great athlete, but his o-line is crazy unbelievable! Whenever anyone gets pressure on him, he blows. : ) I just can't stand a quarterback that cries, whines, and points fingers after a play goes to hell. And, sadly, many of the QBs these days do that.
Danie, you are not the only one who hates the Pats. I can't stand them. Not specifically because of Tom Brady (although he IS a Michigan guy and I'll also admit I think he's cute, he's arrogant as hell) but because the whole TEAM is arrogant. I realize there are winning champion teams and all but I just never liked arrogant teams (it goes beyond football - I also hate the Yankees and the Lakers and I'm sure there's an NHL team in there that I don't like either). BTW Mike always says I should hate the Red Wings then, because he claims them to be arrogant but they're my home team so I don't see it.
Stacy - I'm with you about rooting for the underdog. Even though the Steelers are my 2nd home team (my mom's whole side of the family is from Pitt), I secretly rooted for the Seahawks in Superbowl 40 when they were here in Detroit back in '06. I just couldn't be vocal about it because about 120 of my cousins would've been at my front door holding torches.
Hahaha!!! Right? I can never say this anywhere but here in the safety of my Nestie home, but (and shhhhh....if anyone ever repeats this, I'll deny it!) if my beloved black and purple birds don't move on, I will be rooting for pretty much any team that is playing the Pats...including, yes, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, those words alone are enough to have a mob with torches in front of my door...LOL
I despise Brady too. Seems very arrogant and not a fan of how he left his baby mommy.
Anywho, this is my opinion on who Brady is starting to look like
Bleh!
Shmel's Blog
Wow haha I definitely see some fighting if it ends up Pats vs. Green Bay.
I am HOPING for the Seahawks, Chiefs, Packers, & I am SOOOO torn on the Indy/Jets game. I really don't want either to win. And my Dad is a HUGE Seahawk fan so I am rooting for them, I am scared of the Eagles & Ravens and would prefer not to play either team!
I THINK it will be, the Saints, Ravens, Eagles, & Colts.
As much as a Pats fan as I am I am really starting to be irritated by Tom Brady....Sadly I bought a Brady jersey back about 5 years ago before he went all model marrying, GQ on everyone, and I am SOO regretting it. As soon as I save up enough for my Welker jersey that Brady one is going to the back of the closet!

Fabio!!!! Hahahahaha OMG I LMAO'd at that! I agree with you on the way he left the baby's mom, too. That was a load of crap.
You know another one I can't stand is that dam Tony Romo. Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson, Miss Texas.....after hearing about how he left Jess Simpson stranded at an IHOP just did it for me. That nailed the coffin in my perception of him being a womanizing A-hole.
Ugh, Tom Brady makes mine crawl too! So agree with this!

Weeeell now... girls, girls, girls... you know I love all of you, but geez... way to hate on my guys! I'll just say it loud and clear... I've been a Pats fan since I was a wee babe... and will be til the day I die (though I have to admit the Fabio reference is pretty funny). I'm just glad to see my team winning for a change (I'm taking the long view here)... they have had ups and downs for sure... but this is their year (or I'm hoping so). BRING IT ON!
That said, I too am torn in some cases on who I want and who I think will win:
WILL win: Colts, Ravens, Saints, Eagles
WANT to win: not sure, Chiefs, Saints, Eagles.
Jets/Colts: tough one for me... victory would be that much sweeter if the Pats got to play and beat the Jets, but it's always fun to watch Peyton cry. Losing to either... would rather lose to the Colts.
Ravens/Chiefs: The Ravens are a good nemesis, but would be more fun to watch Cassel against Brady.
Saints/Seahawks: For some reason I don't see the contest here (but I admit I haven't been keeping up with them). Yes, if I had to pick a non-home team, I'd be part of Who Dat? Nation. Love Drew Brees.
Packers/Eagles: Nothing against Green Bay, but I know the Eagles better since they're fairly local. Though I liked them better with McNabb at the helm (and the Packers when Favre was there).
Yeah, we might want to keep some ambulances on call for the April Nesties board... too fun!
GO PATS GO PATS GOOOOOOO PATS!!!

Yeah, that was quite the upset... wow. Good game, but what a surprise... was hoping the Saints would get a miracle there at the last, but alas, no.

I am officially sad.
Guess I'll root for the Steelers in the super bowl since they're the 2nd home team.....bye Saints!
So that's one prediction we had wrong. Watching the Colts game now. I think they will pull this off, so far it's a pretty defensive game.
DH & I at the Light Festival
Jumping into this thread late but holy cow... that was some good football yesterday! I like the Saints and was rooting for them, but it was cool to watch the Seahawks pull such a HUGE upset. And, go Jets! Since I live close to the stadium I feel like I need to root for them. Of course, there is a certain pregnant someone on this board who lives minutes from the Meadowlands and roots against them so I guess that doesn't matter...
I'm not sure what to feel about the Eagles game. I grew up in Philly and was a big Eagles fan until a couple years ago, but I LOATHE Michael Vick. I guess the best case scenario for me would be for Vick to get badly injured in the first quarter, have them bring Kolb in to replace them and then win the game. (I don't usually wish injuries on someone but come on...)
Watching Ravens/Chiefs right now. I don't care about either team that much, but will root for Baltimore because I love the crab cakes there... yummm.
TTC #1 since 4/10, Dx: MFI IVF planned for April/May
As much as I am glad that Tom Brady - the athlete - is my team's quarterback, and as much as I think he's cute and all that (and I happen to like the scruffy look) I too am not a fan of his relationship choices.
And yeah, yesterday's games were pretty crazy, but fun to watch. Nice to see the Seahawks beat the odds (though I had been rooting for the Saints), and ugh, it's going to be a hard week for me at work, lol, now that it's going to be Pats/Jets next Sunday. If I weren't already a blood-sworn member of Patriots Nation, maybe proximity to Jets stadium would have swayed me, but, well, you know, I just can't root for Gang Green next week.
Was hoping the Chiefs would win this afternoon, but as it's 23-7 in the 4th, prospects are looking a little dim right now.

Wow! There was some seriously crazy football going on yesterday!
Stacie--props to your boys for smashing the Chiefs. I would have liked the Chiefs to win (only due to proximity--we are about 4 hours from their stadium), but I'm cool with the Ravens too.
Now just so the Pack can hang on this afternoon. Although, it should be interesting in next weeks game.
Thanks!!! I have enjoyed a great playoff weekend, in fact :-)
3-0 and counting! You would have thought Seattle was my home team yesterday...lol
And yes, I was quite excited about our big win today - scoring 30 pts hasn't happened a lot for us this season, so it was great to see it break out during the playoffs!!! Now I'm off to root for the Eagles...we'll see how that goes!
