"Also I think we are going to get divorced over naming this child."
Clearly, the best course of action is to post the options and let the Caribbean decide.

How do you pronounce Carys?
Elise is one of our names and I love it. It's my favorite.
Emily LeaAnn. He has to be joking with that right?
I'm afraid not. See what I am up against!
Carys- Care-riss

I'm also anti-Carys.
I actually don't encounter other Emilies that often, but I guess it didn't really explode in popularity until I was in high school.
Elise makes me think of the girl on the first season of America's Next Top Model. And Christin. I am helpful.
I thought Carys was a typo and you meant Cary, spelled oddly. I've never seen it before.
Anything ending in "ly" should be immediately forgotten if you're going with Lea Ann.
I think Elise is a bit of a mouthful with Lea Ann. Eleeeese Leeeea Ann. Too much eeeeeeee.
Names are hard. I don't envy the task of choosing one...
Thanks for the honest opinions! It is exactly what I need. We have plenty of time to decide, change our mind, and decide again.
My mom thought Carys was one of those random Y names, and I had to explain it to her that it is Welsh.

I only like Jillian and Sophia, and Sophia is better with Lee Ann.
Carys is made up, admit it.

Your H really did just pick his names off the top 10 girl name list, didn't he? I really love the name Sophia, but I think it's in the top 3 right now. Maybe you can just tell him that any name he picks cannot be on the top 20 list.

It's not, I pinky swear.

Mmm, not sure about Carys. It's the y that's distracting me. Though the more I look at it perhaps I see the appeal. What about something like Maren?
I wish someone needed a boys name. I suggest Hayes.
Thank you! We also agree on Sean.

Well, if you pinky swear.
What about Caryn?

I like it, but it's my husband's BFF wife's name. And I dont want to give her big head.

Yeah, I don't mind it either. I don't mind Elise except that it kinda reminds me of "Lyse". Ew.
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
I think you mean Karen.
I know I've said it before, but I love love love the name Aurelia. There's just no way any kid of mine could pull that name off.

It makes me think of areola.

For less then ten cents a day, you can feed a hungry child.
I just couldn't give my kid a name that probably over 50% of the population would have no idea how to pronounce or spell. I know a woman with the name Carrine who typically goes by Carrie and that's kind of close to Carys I suppose.
I agree that Sophia sounds the nicest, but it is very popular. This website tells you how popular a name is by state though, so it gives you a better idea of how popular it is locally: www.babynamewizard.com
