Re: Holy frustrated!!

  • What?!  I would've been bitching about 2.5 hours ago.  Are you at an OBGYN?  Is there a reason the doc isn't seeing you yet?

  • I'm at ear specialist. They screwed up in scheduling and didn't have me in, so they had to fit me in, but still...this is bullshiit. I can't walk out bc I already took off ( and going to be late) getting back to work.

  • Wow!  Did they give you any reason why you're still waiting?  Is this for the results of your MRI?

  • MRI was normal, this is to figure out what was/is wrong with my ear.

  • I can't tell you what's wrong with your ear, but I can guarantee you I'd know what's wrong with their office....  foot in ass disease.

Well, that's great that the MRI was normal.  Hopefully, they'll squeeze you in soon so you can get some answers.

  • Did you make the appt over the phone or do you have a card? I would ask to speak with their office manager and say it is rediculous that you have been waiting this long (it is not like you were an emergency appt) and say that there is no reason you should have to pay your copay for this.  Or at least let you reschedule and waive the copay next time.

As far as waiving the co-pay goes; The Dr. is not the one that requires the copay, the insurance does.

For some policies the copay is considered part of the out of pocket. Many Doctors will not waive the copay because it is in their contract with the insurance to collect the copay from the patient.

Obviously these are extenuating circumstances, so they may waive it, but from what I've seen most offices will not.

My Pedis office has waived Macy's copay twice.  I don't know how it was handled with the provider/insurance company but all I know is I didn't have to pay :)

Ali - hope they get you in soon.  It's sucks spending your day at the doctors.
