A poll about tampons. Cuz I am bored...
Today I stated my period (which fan-effing-tastic since I am TTC) and I had to run to the store to buy more tampons. Well, apparently Tampax Plastic Tampons come in a box that is VERY similar to Tampax Cardboard Tampons. I didn't not realize this until I got the box home and I said a few curse word when I figured out I picked up the wrong box.
So my question is..........Cardboard or Plastic?

Re: A poll about tampons. Cuz I am bored...
They still make cardboard ones??????
I thought that stopped a long time ago! I always used the Tampax Pearl tampons. I have to admit, it's been really nice not needing to worry about that for awhile.
I hope AF leaves quick so you can get your BFP!
Plastic all the way. Cardboard is umm......not so comfortable when ummm.......installing? Sorry, don't want to go into too much detail, but you get the idea.
I always thought everyone was a plastic fan until I brought this debate up to my softball team in college. The team was evenly split for votes on cardboard vs. plastic, which always shocked me. People really prefer cardboard?!
Oh, does anyone use those insert yourself tampons? My OB gave me some free samples and I was all "thanks, but no thanks". Ha.

Bwahaha! No! Kinda like those Instead Cups. Seriously, those CANNOT be neat/easy to use.
I've never used them, but I had a sample from somewhere a long time ago. I'm pretty sure you stick your finger up the middle of it, and shove it in. :shudder:
Those cups sound interesting and gross at the same time. I read they are reusable. Umm, that would be awkward having to clean out your cup for reuse in a public bathroom. How would you justify that? "Umm, don't mind me, I am just saving the environment one tampon at a time. Go green." Ha. No way. The world will just have to suffer with my tampon usage.
I assume that's the appeal to the cup thingys, right? People say they are more eco-friendly? Or is there another benefit?

You're supposed to be able to wear them for up to 12 hours at a time, and you can have sex with them in and everything. The concept is there, but not so much the way that you have to insert and remove them. I'm sorry, removing them sounds like a big giant mess!
What would be worse is if your H was online at 1 AM discussing tampons

I was JUST thinking that except for the fact that I'm not pregnant. Not sleepy!
LOL! A few hours ago, I told H that I was bored and nothing was on TV. He's traveling right now, and he told me he was watching iCarly on the Disney channel....I think I'd rather he discuss tampons than tell me he was watching iCarly!
hahahaha
Know what I like to do bc Im an evil wife? Make my husband go buy my tampons at the store.
Wait, you can have sex with them in? I don't know the exact square footage of my vagina but that seems like a lot of things in there at once, right? Like, there really is enough room for all of that?

I bought them once when H and I were grocery shopping. He saw them in the cart and was like, "What is THAT doing in there?" Surely he'd never buy them for me!
This conversation gets better and better! Apparently I should get on TN more at night when I can't sleep. Have you ever seen them? I got them as samples once and I couldn't bring myself to test them out after I figured out what a mess removing them would be. It's like a thick band with a thin layer of rubber that's the "cup" - and it apparently is supposed to neatly fit into your vagina. I don't know, I can't imagine it. I still think it has the potential to be a hot mess.
Never could I get my H to buy me tampons. But after I had Macy I sent him to the store to buy me some pads. Like those two foot long ones. Ha. He also had to buy me granny panties because for some reason I never put two and two together that I would not be able to wear my thongs post partum. Thongs + two foot long bad = fail.

weird.
I will say that I tried this once... I was desperate and it was all I could get. So uncomfortable!
I think it's safe to say that plastic tampons are still the preferred method.
Also, I don't know if it's a cultural thing or what but tons of people in South Texas only use pads. Gross. Yuck. Way back when I use to work and needed a tampon, I knew I could only count on my coworkers to have pads. I never understood it nor asked why, but was always puzzled. Like, why would you not utilize the invention of tampons??!

Odd. I DESPISE pads. In fact, I think I'm dreading the idea of having to wear pads for gosh knows how many weeks of PP bleeding, even more than I am the pain of the labor and delivery. Pads are like diapers to me!
I am all about telling strangers if they have food stuck in their teeth but I don't know if I could discretely mention to someone their Depends were hanging out. That would be horrible and awkward.
But I have waked out of the bathroom a time or two with my skirt tucked into my panty hose. Ha. Luckily I always caught it before anyone noticed. Ugh. I hated my old job because of the fact it was required we wore panty hose with our skirts/dresses. Umm, it's not 1950 anymore and nude colored tights are not flattering.......even if you work at Hooters.

I like tampons during the day but like pads at night. They are diaper like but I freak out if I sleep over 8 hours or something. Paranoid about tss.
I'm pretty sure I couldn't mention that one either!
LOL @ Nude Tights!
Dillard's requires women to wear panty hose. RIDICULOUS!
