QOTD - Friday 1/14

If you could have just one ridiculous/overindulgent luxury in your house, what would it be?

Re: QOTD - Friday 1/14

  • A housekeeper who came every day.

If we're talking STUFF..... idk, a spin bike? Sad that the most ridiculous/overindulgent is like $1000 and would pay for itself in gym memberships. Lame.

  • Heated tile in my bathroom.
  • It's between a sweet theater room and an awesome outdoor kitchen/pool setup in the backyard.

  • A sauna or a library with TONS of shelves...just a whole room dedicated to books.

  • A clean, modern kitchen with all the bells and whistles and stainless appliances.

Definitely this. I love watching shows on extreme backyards. A pool with a waterfall and a gourmet outdoor kitchen.

  • An outdoor entertainment area- kitchen, bar, seating, etc with heaters for the winter and trees for shade in the summer.

  • Hmmmm....I enjoy cooking, but I would love a personal chef (who could also teach me things.) It exhausting sometimes trying to come up with new healthy recipes.

If we're talking about STUFF then I'm stealing lucky's idea for the outside patio/pool/entertaining area. I love the outdoor living spaces that look like a family room with a fireplace and have a whole outdoor kitchen.

  • All high-end appliances. I would love to replace my washer and dryer, especially.

  • I'll hop on the outdoor bandwagon.  I want a nice pool, grill and seating area.  I really want to add a Florida room onto the back of the house that would lead out to it.
  • My first thought was just the luxury of being able to keep the house as cool as I wanted to during our miserable summers. But then I was thinking a really awesome walkin closet and master bathroom would be sweet.  I'd love a closet that was big enough to put the dressers in it, and a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a large walk in shower.  that would be heavenly...
  • A completely remodeled and modern kitchen.  Our current kitchen had baby blue linoleum counters and a baby blue ceramic sink.

  • An awesome media room with big, comfy seats and stadium seating. It would have a projector and one wall would be the screen. H and I have discussed this many times. I also like the outdoor living areas and kitchen ideas too.

Ooh, I change my answer to this one!

  • I would have the most tricked out pool in the history of pools.  A combination indoor/outdoor.  Like if you merged these together:

Never mind the fact that my yard is the size of three cubicles.  Details.  Pish posh.

  • I'd love to replace the entire ac/heating system with one that has timed zones depending on what part of the house is being used when. It would probably be a lot to put in, but it would save so much money in the long run.

Or maybe enclose the porch in glass, ventilate it, and put a top of the line elliptical machine out there. There is seriously no place for it anywhere else. As spacious as this house is, all the extra space is out in the open. Not really a great place for an elliptical.

  • Great idea to pip...this is the kind of library room I was envisioning...at least for the walls and of course the moving ladder.  I'd make it brighter though, with windows/lots of natural light coming in from the other walls and more modern/more comfortable furniture:

  • I just want a maid :)

Or, I could totally go for a totally re-done master bath with heated floors, a jacuzzi, separate heater so its nice and toasty when I get out of the shower and a coffee bar.

I'm having a treadmill delivered today, which was a pre-pregnant purchase... so it's no longer able to go in the office (will be nursery) so DH and I agreed that it will go in the garage while it's still cool out, then our bedroom in the summer and I'll get a room divider screen thing to hide it since our bedroom is massive. He's going to run a cable splitter so I can put a TV in the garage... but I'm not thrilled about this situation.

  • That was exactly what we talked about doing, but we just couldn't deal with it devouring a third of the bedroom and our office is at the end of the a/c line. So in the summer, it is very warm in there just with the computers, much less a sweaty person. It would be so nice to have something though....
  • If you're actively ready to move it in and out of the garage as needed, I have a regular-sized treadmill that folds up and moves on wheels.  I just put it in the living area in front of the tv.  I'm lazy though and don't move it back until company's coming.
  • Right now its a cleaning lady or seriously updated bathrooms.

  • Heated floors throughout the house.

Does this also come with a hot, shirtless, male bartender?

  • A giant pantry where I could keep all my food and appliances in one place.  And a jacuzzi garden tub.  Sorry, that's two things.
