Re: Can we discuss this?
I'm 100% in support of someone owning a gun and carrying it anywhere (except for places where it's not allowed) as long as they have a CC license.
My H and I just went and got ours a few weeks back. While my license isn't in yet, I will feel much safer at work and on campus (I'm not going to bring it into class however) having a gun. I work by myself in an office and during the evenings I'm usually walk to my car from class in the dark. Knowing I will have this bit of protection in the case that my life is threatened is reassuring.
One thing my husband points out is if we create stricter gun laws, the only people who will follow them are the good law abiding citizens. The psychos that want to kill someone with a gun will find a way to obtain a gun. What we are left with is good innocent people facing a jerk off with a gun and no way to protect themselves.
I DON'T think guns should be out in the open. Conceal and carry, sure, but not open carry. There are too many people uncomfortable with guns and it might cause a little bit of a panic depending on certain situations to see regular citizens walking around with guns everywhere.
