Re: Vacation: poll

  • We are going to Charleston, SC in April because DH is in a wedding.  However we are arriving Thursday and staying till Monday evening, so I am counting it as a vaca since we will do touristy stuff while there.
  • ALSO, my Spring Break is in March, which we will do something for, but we're not sure what yet.

  • Since we're about to be living in a foreign country in a few months, I guess that's my exotic vacation.  Stick out tongue

I've never been to Charleston, but I hear it's charming.  Have a great trip!

  • We have a wedding in DC coming up in May, so we're saving for that right now.  I guess you can consider it vacation since I won't have to cook or do dishes for a few days!! haha

  • We're looking into our next vacation but haven't decided on anything yet. Maybe another cruise, maybe an all inclusive.

  • I am sure I will be going back to FL in the near future.  I try to get back every 6 weeks.  I don't have a trip planned right now, but I am sure I will book my ticket by then end of this week :)

I will be going to San Francisco in May and the Bahamas in July.  I really, really want to go skiing this upcoming winter, but I think we are going to put off that trip for another year.  If I am lucky I will be KTFU this winter (or have a new baby) and won't be in any condition to ski!

H and I went to Jackson Hole, WY last winter and it was the best time of my life. I cannot wait to go back and wish we could have gone this year but I was PG. I am really hoping we get to go this winter!!

I have always wanted to go to Jackson Hole!  I have heard nothing but good things!  We have been kicking around places for a few years now and more than likely we will end up in Tahoe.  I love Tahoe, but I have been there a few times already and I want to go somewhere new!

Yes, I can tell as soon as I know.  I am dying to know and will be sure to let you guys know Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.  I'm pretty excited about most of the prospects at this point, I just want to know!  Of course, come Wednesday, I hope you are too busy with other things- like two little babies!

It sounds like you and your husband have taken some really cool trips and have some other really fun ones planned.  Do you think you'll travel a lot with the twins or make your big trips adults only?

  • We have some weekend trips planned, and then our week long vacation in June.

    April - Orlando (Gaylord Palms!)

June - Hilton Head, SC (a full week) and Philadelphia/DC/Pocono Mountains

August - Virginia, NC, and Myrtle Beach

September - Louisville, KY (I'm not entirely sure I count this as vacation since DH has a conference, but it will be for Kennedy and I!)

    October - Orlando (Disney!)

We traveled a lot before we got pregnant, toned it down while I was pregnant, and we plan on making sure that Kennedy is a good traveler!

  • We were going to try and do a cruise this spring as hopefully the last trip before we had kids, but we've decided against that as DH can't take time off because he hasn't accrued enough time.  Instead we're going to do a weekend getaway in Fort Myers that includes a few Red Sox spring training games.  We're also going up to Chicago for a cousins wedding; although Chicago in early April is hardly what I'd call a vacation.

  • The only thing we have definitely planned is a trip to Florida for a wedding the first weekend in April.

Other than that, we definitely want to plan a great trip this year. Maybe Italy, maybe Greece, maybe Australia. We need to do some research and make a plan.

We're also planning a long weekend trip to Niagara falls, and another NE U.S. trip. Since we live in an area where we can easily get to major nearby cities by bus or train, we want to take a week and check out Boston and Philly (I've never been to either) and also head down to DC for a few days, since we haven't been back since we moved from there.

So, lots of tentative things in the works, but nothing definite yet!

  • We don't have anything planned yet, but will be going to back to Marco Island in July for our second anniversary. We went last year and it was amazing (Marco Beach Ocean Resort) so we are trying to make it an annual thing:)

  • Meeting my sister in Nashville for a "girls weekend" in March....then going to my cousins wedding in NJ in April.  But the big "week off" for my hubby and I this year is a week in October where we rented the same cabin we stayed in for our honeymoon in the Smoky Mountains for our anniversary.  :)
  • We don't have anything planned, but I would really like to get away for a weekend or 4 days or something before the LOs get here.  Plus, we haven't done anything remotely vacation like since last February.

I'd kind of like to go camping.  At Ft. Wilderness.  Or at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral.  Or anywhere.

  • H and I are hiking the Grand Canyon in April and also going to Sedona for a few days.

  • April - Punta Cana with DH's best friend and his wife.

May - H is going to Vegas for work... I may go with depends on my time off situation.

July/Aug - probably NY at some point, or maybe VA to visit H's sister who is having a baby in May.

Sept - Vegas for a wedding.

Oct - TX (no clue where in TX) for a wedding.

  • We're in the process of planning a trip to Savannah for our 4 yr anniversary in late July for about 4 days, should be awesome! We also want to plan a vacation to an all inclusive resort maybe in late August or Sept(not sure where yet) for my graduation celebration :-)

  • We sort of have one planned.  My husband bid on a three night stay at a resort up in the panhandle and won it.  The proceeds benefit the organization he works for.  We are planning on going in March, just havent booked the final dates yet!

  • March - I'm going to Boston for a bachelorette and bridal shower.

May - Wedding in N. FL.

  • We're going to Saint Augustine, FL for my BFF's fiance's birthday (whoa mouthful!) next weekend.

March 12th we're going to Savannah, GA for a friends wedding!

    Big Smile

  • We dont have anything planned at this point, these things are ideas.

We are hoping to go on the Allure of the Seas sometime before I cant travel anymore.

Also we will maybe do something local for our anniversary in May, I would like to go to the Don Cesar or Don Cesar Beach Houses and stay for a night or two but not sure if DH will want to do that again since we did that for our 1 year anniversary.

Other than that, that is all we have as ideas since the LO will arrive sometime in July. :)

  • DH's parents are taking us to NYC for a few days in March.  My MIL works for both Continental and Hilton, so the flights and rooms are free for them and cheap for us (family rates).  Should be fun.  I''ve never been to NYC as an adult, the only time I've been there was I was in middle school with my grandparents.

We've also been thinking about doing an East Coast roadtrip of sorts later this summer/fall to hit some places that we've talked about going.  Like the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, visiting my grandparents in Williamsburg, VA and going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, touring all the museums and cultural things in Washington DC, and catching up with some college friends along the way.

We were originally going to do a big trip to Europe (which was going to be kind of a last hurrah before having kids), but DH has convinced me that it would be a better trip to take later on whenever we want to get away from the kid(s) for a bit, lol.

  • We are going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras! My husband is from there, so we will get to see his family as well. I can't wait!

We just went on a baby-free mini vacation down there and it was amazing! We stayed at the Marriott resort. Such a nice, relaxing place to visit :)

I think we will be those annoying people on planes with crying babies :) H and I plan on taking them with us on a lot of trips. I am excited to start some fun family traditions with our little family!

  • You will LOVE NYC!  I can't wait to go back there again!

I loved the hop-on-hop-off bus tour thingee.  It was a great way to see everything.
