2. If you could be given ANY gift what would it be? Aside from things like "peace on earth?" I guess a winning lotto ticket so I could do all the things I want to do-- travel, have a personal trainer on call, etc.
3. What was the last film that really moved/disturbed/thrilled you and why? I haven't seen a film that wasn't purely for fun in a long time. And nothing super impressive, either. I did recently watch most of a documentary about a case of some star soldiers of a particular unit that saw heavy fighting in Iraq, who came home and subsequently ended up in jail for drugs and/or for beating another soldier to death. Very disturbing-- we send these boys off to war, expose them to atrocities, slap antipsychotic drugs on them as band-aids with no provision for them to get the drugs out in the field (stopping them abruptly causes horrible side effects), then bring them home and expect them to find a way to adjust on their own. Broken and then left to their own devices. Very disturbing.
4. What is your favorite TV show of all time ie you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it? Oh tough one. Maybe the Cosby Show?
5. Whats your favorite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do? No alarm, no pressure (i.e. nowhere to go, including the bathroom). First thing I'd do would be to roll over and snuggle MH. (In reality, it's turn the alarm off and/or go to the bathroom, tripping over the cat along the way).
6. What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name? Something eastern european no doubt. But I feel like I'm pretty much a "Daniele."
7. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Nope. I abhore the day-- the concept, the purpose, everything.
8. Whats the worst/most embarassing CD/Album you've ever owned and do you still have it? Maybe Air Supply's Greatest Hits? And yes, I still have those songs on my iPod...
9. what would be your dream vehicle (bikes, cars, boats, batcar and millenium falcon is allowed!)? This is a trifecta for me: A LandRover Defender with a 110 or 130 wheel base, cab, and snorkel; a Morgan convertible with wooden floors, a running board, and an updated but retro-looking stereo; and a Harley Night Train motorcycle. While we're at it-- a kick-arse horse!
10. Whats your favorite sandwich? Cold meatloaf on homemade bread, lettuce, tomato, horseradish and dijon mustard.
11. What characteristics do you dislike in yourself? Sometimes (a lot of times?) I'm not always thoughtful of others in a way that is obvious... I also don't always finish what I start.
12. Your favorite item of clothing and why? My rugby kit. Makes me feel powerful, comfortable, and like there is NOTHING that can get in my way. Makes me feel fleet-footed and free. (Sadly, I don't fit into any of it but my socks at the moment)
13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with? New Zealand or Europe, especially Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean (including the Maghreb in Northern Africa). And with MH of course! (And some future kids of mine would be alright, too!)
14. If you could have any animal/creature, What would be your ultimate pet be? A unicorn.
15. What did you want to be when you were little and do you think you ever will be? A veterinarian. Or an NBA player. And no, I will never be either-- one because I'm too short (amongst other things!) and they have a WNBA now; and the other because I stink at Chemistry.
16. Whats the next planned event you're looking to in your life? Graduation from nursing school. And getting pregnant.

21. What was your favorite toy as a child . . .and now? I didn't have one, believe it or not. I played a lot of sports and climbed a lot of trees and we didn't have a lot of toys as kids. I remember asking for Hungry Hungry Hippo as a kid, though, and being really excited because actually got it. Now: my PS3.
22. When was the last time you cried laughing and why? Two weekends ago, in a bar in Stratton, VT with some rugby friends. Because a middle-aged woman and her elderly parents knew what a mercken was and joined in our conversation about them.

12. Your favorite item of clothing and why? I have a green jacket from Ann Taylor that I adore - tie between that and my jean jacket. I love the versatility and the green one always get's me compliments on my eyes.
13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with? I love traveling, especially with friends or family. Since we bought our time share, we've been able to go to Hawaii and in April we're going to Aruba with my brothers and their SO's. Fun, Sun, and family. Just awesome.

5. Whats your favorite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do? Usually waking up on my own and the first thing I usually do (sadly) is check my email and FB on my phone. Although last weekend I woke up to the sound of Eli repeating lines from one of his favorite books- so sweet!
6. What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name? Not sure...probably stick with Sarah, but I would eliminate the option of spelling it Sara to cut down on confusion.
7. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Kind of. We will go out on a date at some point around VDay, but we try to do that once a month anyway. I'll get DH a card and he will probably forget to get me one. Oh well!

9. what would be your dream vehicle (bikes, cars, boats, batcar and millenium falcon is allowed!)? We live on a lake and on a snowmobile trail, so we would love to have boat and a snowmobile, but neither needs to be super speedy, just fun for going out for a ride as a family.

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with? Right now I would go to Disney World and on a Disney Cruise with Tim and Eli

15. What did you want to be when you were little and do you think you ever will be? I wanted to be a meteorologist, and I don't think that will happen. I get a taste of it in stalking snow storms for potential school cancellations.
16. Whats the next planned event you're looking to in your life? Short term- a quick 2 night stay in Boston with Eli and Tim. We are going down on the train and visiting the Children's Museum and Aquarium. Bigger picture- TTC #2 this summer.

My friend took what she thought was a free a brochure from a store, but once she got it home she realized it was a little booklet that cost $2.50. It shoudn't be funny and I obviously don't condone shoplighting, but she is the most moral, responsible, (uptight!), person I know and hearing how mortified she was had me laughing so hard.

2. If you could be given ANY gift what would it be? I am not low balling it. A new car! I hate my G6, and honestly I am ready for a minivan. I can't wait until DH is working so we can hopefully trade my car in.

I get so anxious waiting for it to come from Netflix, and then when I watch them I just look at it like, really? It scares me to think that there probably are really people out there who think like he does.

5. Whats your favorite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do? Waking up to a silent house is wonderful, but it rarely happens. I don't drink coffee, but I have to have a diet pepsi first thing.
6. What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name? I do like my name, but I would have spelled it "Kathryn" and not "Katherine"

8. Whats the worst/most embarassing CD/Album you've ever owned and do you still have it? Ha ha Millie Vanilli, hell no that was way back in the day. Once I found out they were fake I broke the cassette tape!
9. what would be your dream vehicle (bikes, cars, boats, batcar and millenium falcon is allowed!)? Oh this one is tough for me. I love a good convertible sports car, but I have also always wanted a Jeep Wrangler. I drove one home when I was like 17, told my mom I was buying it, and she flipped out.
10. Whats your favorite sandwich? I have two: A full ham italian w/mayo, and tunafish. Mind you both of these have to have salt & vinegar chips shoved in them. I don't eat chips seperately. I have to put them on my sandwich.
11. What characteristics do you dislike in yourself? I cry very easily. It has gotten worse since I Have had the boys too. When I get nervous, I cry, when I am upset, I cry, when I'm mad, I cry. Yeah pretty much I am a big baby! Ugh....I hate it.
12. Your favorite item of clothing and why? I have a pair of Banana Republic Jeans that are so comfy, and I WILL fit back into them someday.
13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with? I would love to go to Africa. An African Safari. I love animals and would love to see the wilderness. I would want to go with my DH and my BFF and his partner. I love to travel with them.
14. If you could have any animal/creature, What would be your ultimate pet be? I have no idea. Probably some form of a well tamed dragon. That way he could fly me anywhere.

21. What was your favorite toy as a child . . .and now? My favorite toy was my matchbox cars. My sister and I would make whole cities in our driveway and push them around. Now, it's my Wii. Video games every now and then, with the bonus of Netflix.

Not being able to provide for my kid. (I'm so sorry that nearly every answer had to do with Abe...I am so one of those moms!)

3. What was the last film that really moved/disturbed/thrilled you and why?I am Legend. I don't know why-I liked the movie, but it was so eerie.
4. What is your favorite TV show of all time ie you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it? "The Office" mostly the first few seasons, it never gets old to me or my DH.
5. Whats your favorite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do?Favorite way to wake up=no alarm or dog to wake me up. Our dog actually nudges me with his paw and stands over me staring at me when he wants to wake up. And he never does it to DH because he knows it's no use. First thing I do every morning-Take the dog out!

What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name?Well, not now because it got popular, but I perhaps may switch it to Bailey. 27 years ago my mom wanted to name me that because in nursing school she met the most wonderful doctor who taught her a lot aka Dr. Bailey. But my dad didn't like it.
7. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? As an excuse to go out to dinner and perhaps get flowers -yes. But it's really not a big deal. Though on that note I saw a commercial the other day and their tag line was "Valentine's Day isn't about "I love you" it's about "I love us" and I know it was a slogan, but I really liked it!
8. Whats the worst/most embarrassing CD/Album you've ever owned and do you still have it? Hmm probably my first c.d which was "Ace of Base" haha I do not still have it.
9. what would be your dream vehicle (bikes, cars, boats, batcar and millenium falcon is allowed!)? So many options!! So I'll go with one that I actually may get- I've always wanted a Jeep CJ7 or 8 and DH wants one too which helps my chances.

What characteristics do you dislike in yourself?I can be a complete ditz sometimes(My mom always says I should have been born blond-no offense to anyone who is blond) but I know it immediately-if I say something right after it comes out I think woooow that was so stupid. Hopefully that doesn't turn anyone off from me haha I'm really not THAT bad.
12. Your favorite item of clothing and why? Currently? My winter boots. They are so adorable and DH picked them out for me for Christmas. I can't get over how cute they are and what a good job he did.
13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with? Well, I am surprising my mom with a trip to Italy next year which I am so excited about, we have always wanted to go. But for a "dream vacation" that I may not ever get to go on-I would really like to go to Africa-go on a safari and go in a shark cage to see great whites. I still haven't found someone that really wants to do that with me though haha

What did you want to be when you were little and do you think you ever will be?I have always wanted to work with animals(vet, zoologist, marine biologist) but after watching "Gorillas in the Mist" in 5th grade I wanted to go to Africa and study/live with gorillas. I hope to still someday work with animals, but am over the whole living with gorillas thing

Well, I stink at quoting lines from shows... honestly, I can't even think of my favorite tv show of all time. There are definitely shows I've loved (ER, Friends, etc) that I've seen the majority of shows.

3. What was the last film that really moved/disturbed/thrilled you and why? I recently watched Crash for the first time. I had no idea what it was about prior and it was incredibly moving on so many levels. I was disturbed, sad, angry, happy...I cried like 5 different times! It definitely stuck with me afterward.
4. What is your favorite TV show of all time ie you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it? Seinfeld - I have seen every episode, own them all on DVD (my H even has all the video tapes from when his family used to record them on the VCR), and watch them whenever I catch them in reruns.
5. Whats your favorite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do? Since I'm usually up before the sun for work, I love when I can sleep in and wake up to the sun shining in the window. I always work Sundays now, but before I had this job, I LOVED when H and I would sit in bed and read the Sunday paper, then get up and have fresh bagels and coffee for breakfast. God, I miss NY bagels - we still pick up a ton to freeze every time we visit. Now, a close second is to wake up late and head to The Front Room for brunch (served every day until 2:00!).
6. What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name? I think my name has grown on me - I used to HATE it - I never knew anyone else with it growing up (I realize now that it's not at all unusual) and always just wanted to have one of those names all the other girls in class had. Now, one of my closest friends has the same name as me.
7. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Generally we go out to dinner or buy a fancy steak or something to cook at home. We used to do gifts, but we've been trying to save money for a few years and cut out gifts. Last year, we banked like 4 years worth of Valentine's Day gifts and splurged on an amazing couples' massage package. I'd love to find someplace in Portland to do something similar either this year or next...though the countdown is on!
8. Whats the worst/most embarassing CD/Album you've ever owned and do you still have it? I have had some terrible music taste over the years - I guess Ace of Base? I also have a soft spot for Mariah Carey and still have her CDs.

Definitely a boat - I know they are a lot of work, but I figured by not choosing the Millenium Falcon, I can maybe afford a caretaker? Now that we live so close to Casco Bay, I think it would be fabulous to just head down to the boat on a whim and spend the afternoon out on the water.
10. Whats your favorite sandwich? Keeping it simple, I'd have to say herb-roasted turkey, Swiss cheese, tomato, avocado, leaf lettuce, Dijon mustard and a tiny bit of mayo on a whole wheat everything bagel...with a dill pickle on the side.
11. What characteristics do you dislike in yourself? Probably my stubbornness and, on the opposite end of the spectrum, my constant need to be a people-pleaser.

I've been watching the two dogs at one of the inns I work for, while the innkeeper is away and they are just too high maintenance. Anything more exotic is just not for me.

I used to play "school" all the time with my BFF, so I guess being a teacher was a thought...she actually became a teacher, but I don't think it would ever be a good reality for me. Also, when I was really young, I used to tell my mother I wanted to be a "cash register," meaning cashier...which I have done and find oddly soothing. I've actually considered applying for a PT job at a grocery store to make a little extra cash. Is that crazy??
16. Whats the next planned event you're looking to in your life? MH and I recently booked a stay at a B&B in Ogunquit for our anniversary in May. We stayed there a couple of years ago after receiving a gift certificate and had the best time. His brothers gave him another one for his birthday this year (yay, gift for me, too!) - can't wait.

10. Whats your favorite sandwich? Anything with italian cold cuts - especially muffelatta.

What characteristics do you dislike in yourself? very shy in large groups and not confident when speaking in front of others - which is why I try not to join committees at school, but recently have been elected as the new treasurer of our union. Ahhhhhh!!!! Which means I'll need to speak at meetings. I'm trying to get over it.
12. Your favorite item of clothing and why? hoodie sweatshirts!!!! I wear one every day (not to work - but definitely when I get home!)

15. What did you want to be when you were little and do you think you ever will be? Since I was 4 I thought I was going to be a veterinarian. In high school I worked at a vet's office and hated assisting with putting animals to sleep. And one of the vets there ruined my experience. So when I went to college I thought "well, I like kids, so being a teacher would be cool I guess" I would give anything to go back and be a vet. They definitely make more money! At this point I'm thankful for my vacations and summers I'll get with my family.
16. Whats the next planned event you're looking to in your life? A trip to Boston on the train for the day with my girlfriends.

24. What did you dream about last night? Can't remember, but a couple of nights ago I had a HORRIBLE dream about their being a bad spirit in my house! Scary!

4. What is your favorite TV show of all time ie you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it? Arrested Development. DH and I are re-watching the series for the third time. There's probably more...but that's all I can think of right now.

7. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Dh will usually get me flowers. We don't do anything major.

I currently have a bagpipe/marching band CD that someone from my old bagpipe class gave me that's in my car right now. DH hates it! LOL 9. what would be your dream vehicle (bikes, cars, boats, batcar and millenium falcon is allowed!)? I like old muscle cars. Ford Mustang, Dodge Charger, etc.

I love this show too! I watched the series once, but have watched the last few minutes of the finale a few times online and it gets me every time. I think I may have to rent this series again soon. It's been a few years, so I think I could watch the entire thing again.
OMG...speaking of disturbing. I saw the episode where David gets kidnapped by that crazy person and forced to drive around smoking crack. I found it so upsetting. And I got really pissed when Brenda finally got her act together and she and Nate had that kid and then he ran off with that Quaker chick. I felt so invested in those characters.
We had HBO for a little trial back when I was pregnant with Marcus and they were re-running some episodes from the last season. That whole last season is brutally sad anyway, and I was crazy hormonal, and I would just cry and cry. Then I watched those last few minutes online a couple more times because it's just so good, but it would make me cry like a crazy woman. Chris kept saying "Why are you doing this to yourself!?" I just loved it. I may have to rewatch the whole series soon too!
Did they have a kid together, or was it his daughter from Lisa? I remember Brenda trying to get pregnant, but I don't remember if they ever had a baby. I always loved Nate, but he was really f-ed up towards the end and did douchey things. Definitely awesome character development!!
