Hi. :)

Hi girls!!

I simply can't thank you all enough for the kind words, love, prayers, everything! Thomas read the post to me that Amy started yesterday - you are all so sweet.

I hope no one minded me telling Thomas to get on here and post for me - I was in bed beside him, but sitting up was difficult and I didn't have my glasses on or anything. He was so blown away by all of the support.

My Dr. called me again this morning to go over everything with me since I was kind of loopy and on two doses of morphine after surgery yesterday. He said that I was hemorrhaging and had a pool of blood in my uterus (they noted this on the ultrasound, too and were surprised I wasn't in pain yet.) He cleaned that all up, did a D&C, removed the pregnancy and my right tube.

They talked to me beforehand about the possibility of loosing my tube and they explained that if the tube was damaged or developed scar tissue, the chances of having another ectopic pregnancy in that tube were pretty great. Before doing so, though, he flushed some dye through my left tube and took a good look at it - he said that there were no blockages and it looked really good & healthy.

We only have to wait one normal cycle before TTC again, so I was glad to hear that. I was so worried it would be put off for months or something.

Thomas stayed home from work with me today - he's working from home on his laptop, sitting in bed beside me.

Somehow, we're getting through this pretty well and just trying to be accepting of it. Again, thank you for everything. Love you all so much!

I hope you feel better soon.  My prayers are still with you as I am sure you are still pretty sad :(

     Much love!

  • As you told you earlier, so glad to hear that you can start trying after 1 cycle! You are so strong Linds!
  • First of all, sorry not to add on to the post from last night.  Very thoughtful of Thomas to do that for you, and, quite frankly, to recognize that the support system that you have here (and that we all have here) is an important one.   I'm so sorry for what you've gone through, and can't imagine your sadness.

I'm very happy to hear that you've gotten a good read on the other tube -- that must be very promising!

I have a dumb anatomy question, though...  is there any chance that the other tube already had some compromising flow, as it were, the kind of thing that might cause an ectopic blockage, that would point to previous month's challenges about releasing eggs in a productive way?  My point: is there any sense as to whether or not this contributed to reproduction challenges you were facing in 2010, which might mean a more likely bill of success in the future, now that you know more about what's going on inside?

  • Glad you are in good spirits and don't have to wait too long to start TTC again.

Get some rest and recover quickly.

  • I'm so happy to hear that you're being so positive and optimistic!!  You are so strong.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  I'm sending you lots and lots of hugs!!  That's such good news that you only have to wait one cycle before TTC again, but the important thing is making sure that you're ready to try again.

    Thank you, Kathy!

Not a dumb question at all, in fact I spoke with the doctor about this on the phone this morning and it's a very good possibility that it did play a role in the challenges we faced. Basically, they believe my tube had some sort of scar tissue, damage, or perhaps, was slightly misshaped. Any one of those issues could have made it much more difficult for both the sperm and the egg to travel through the tube. I suppose that is a lot of my optimism behind this whole situation - I feel like I have real answers instead of just educated guesses. I was also glad to find out that I was clear of endometriosis, which was a concern as my mom & my sister both were covered in it at my age.

  • Wow, only 1 cycle until you can TTC again?  That's great!  And that's also great news about the other tube.  So glad to hear Thomas is home with you and you're doing well.  Big hugs!!
  • Thanks, everyone! I really don't feel like I'm being strong, but finding some sort of positive to the whole situation seems to be the only way I can deal with things. My parents & sister are devastated and it bothers them that they're so far away. My parents were ready to come down here yesterday when I called them, but my grandmother's surgery is scheduled for tomorrow (my poor mom must be stressed out of her mind with all of this,) so I just reassured them that all would be well. I really have no idea how I'm dealing with this in such a calm manner. My emotions just don't know what to make of it all.

  • Linds so glad that you seem in good spirits considering what has happened in the last 24hrs or so.  I'm so glad you asked Thomas to post last night as I'm sure we were all wondering what was going on.  I will continue to keep you in my T&Ps.  I am glad that you don't have to wait too long before you can being TTC again.

{{hugs}} -because you can't have too many of those!

  • Oh Linds, I'm so sorry. I couldn't log on last night, but I was thinking of you. I am SO GLAD you followed your gut and went to the dr (a little pissed that they didn't schedule you for Monday).

I'm happy that you have answers and that you can TTC again after a month, but I'm sure you're wounded beyond all the physical scars. I'm sending a little prayer for your little one.

  • Like everyone else... I'm glad your in better spirits and lots of prayers for a speedy recovery.

And I just have to say... don't you worry one bit about having only one tube and the possibility of getting pregnant. It can and does happen--and my lil' guy is proof! And we concieved 4 months after my surgery!

  • I'm so glad you decided to call, and get everything checked out. And so thankful that you're doing well after the sx and seem to be in good spirits. 1 cycle will fly by and you'll soon have that healthy pregnancy you've dreamed of.

Such an emotional big thing to go through, not everyone would be handling it as well as you two are. Mad props to both of you, and as always t&p are still coming.

    My overly happy baby girl!

I really have no idea how I'm dealing with this in such a calm manner. My emotions just don't know what to make of it all.

It may hit you all at once, once your hormone levels start to balance out again.  After my miscarriage, until my hormones leveled out, I was a complete mess.  And it kind of freaked me out, because I felt like I wasn't physically capable of calming down or getting a hold of myself.

Hopefully you'll stay as calm as you feel right now!  But I just wanted you to know that if that changes, it's totally normal and understandable.

  • oh Lindsay, I am so very sorry.  This is exactly what I was hoping wasnt the problem!  :-(

I wish you and Tom the best of luck TTC from here.  My fingers are crossed for the two of you!

  • Linds I'm glad that go are in such good spirits and I'm glad Thomas is taking good care of you! We are here if you need anything at all and my prayers are still with you!
