    hola girlies!

Boo to cancer, yay for holidays in the sun.

Tonight my friends and I will be eating two suckling pigs.  It was featured on "Best things I ever ate tonight".    I skipped lunch in a vain attempt to prep for tonight's gluttony.

I'm trying not to think about the "suckling pig" part.  I'm focusing on the "whole thing tastes like bacon" portion.

Also...last night I somehow came into possession of a used Louis Vuitton bag (long story).  It's super cute. I love the shape, but for someone who has never purchased a bag in her life, I'm a little bewildered by the whole thing.

I didn't like that show at first, but now I love it.  It's fun to see the chefs get so excited while describing the food.

How is the suckling pig prepared?  My sister did a luau party once where they dug a pit and cooked a whole pig in it, and it was freaking delicious.

Also, what bag did you get?  I really want to get a classic bag for work, but I don't think H is on board!

  • Here's the story on the pig:

?Chef Garces brines each suckling pig for 24 hours in a salt water and sugar solution, to ensure the meat is tender and flavorful. Then he confits the pig in pork fat for up to three hours. After roasting it at 250 degrees for another hour, to crisp the skin and lock in its natural juices, it is finished with sea salt and arbequina olive oil.?

    Here's the bag:

It's not in pristine condition.  It's hand me down from my mother-in-law.  But I like that it keeps it's shape. It's hard. Canvas?  And it's small.  Maybe 13"s wide?

Sorry i don't have a photo of the actual thing.  I left it in the car in the parking garage.  Now that I think about it.  I probably should have put it in the trunk.  I already had a thief break into my car in that garage a couple months ago.

  • It's very classic!  I hate the funky colored LV bags (no offense to anyone that has one!).  Hopefully it's still there when you get back to your car!

P.S. If you decide you don't like it anymore, my birthday is coming up Angel

  • Very pretty!  I like it.  And I'm with Laura, I prefer the traditional logo to the weird-colored ones.

And the suckling pig sounds amazing!  You're going to his restaurant, I assume?  H and I watch a lot of Food Network, which we refer to as food porn, so we enjoyed the Next Iron Chef show.

  • We are going to Amada in Philly.  It is the same Chef Garces from Iron chef?  maybe it's a coincidence on the name?  Must research this...

Yeah, the bag is kinda cute isn't it?  I might have to learn how to carry a purse.  I just feel silly walking around with it when I won't spend more than $70 on a pair on jeans.

Anyone having flash backs from that jeans, handbag thread?

  • No f-ing way!!!

I've been there a few times and I never knew that.  The food is amazing.

Damn...I'm so hungry.  I shouldn't have skipped lunch.  I'll never make it.

I feel like this all the time. I got my LV last year and I wear it everyday even when I am wearing the grungy-ist clothes I own and my 15 dollar old navy jeans haha, I still rock it. I don't have the traditional one but the damier azur speedy 30.

  • I like that yours doesn't have the LVs all over it.  It's a lot more discreet.

  • Yea alot of people don't know what it is. They'll ask where I got it and I'll say the Louis V in the Domain (outdoor shopping center/condo/restuarant place) and they don't like it so much after that. It looks big in the pictures but once all your stuff gets in it it falls and the handle start turning darker (as all LV's do) so it's look more relaxed now. My aunt has the one you have and she uses it all the time. Really Cute!
