V-Day - flowers? cards? gifts? nada?
do you and your s/o celebrate? if so, what did you get for your loved one?
lars had a calla lily plant and a card sitting out for me this morning and i am having heartshaped Davanni's pizzas delivered for his lunch today. i'll give him a card when we get home tonight but i think that's about all we're going to do. i have class until almost 8 and then i have homework.
romantic, i know!
Re: V-Day - flowers? cards? gifts? nada?
I got H a card, but I have no idea if he got me anything. Our BDays are both in mid-March, so we'd rather celebrate then.
H took the day off so we are doing oil changes and shopping for a new dishwasher!
We went out to dinner last night at Psycho Suzi's which was our first time at the new location. It was so fun!!!
We had thought of doing gifts, but then we found a great deal on a new vacuum, which we are in desperate need of, so that was our gift to each other. Boring, but totally fun! We spent an hour vacuuming together yesterday. You know you're old when you are excited about a vacuum for Valentines day
DH and I usually just do dinner and cards. This year we'd planned on going skating and then dinner at Red Lobster for their 2 for $30 deal, but the warm weather and madhouse at Red Lobster thoroughly spoiled this plan.
We ended up at Brasa on Grand Ave and then walked down to Cafe Latte for dessert. We had an amazing night!

Since it was our first V-day we did a little more than I would expect to do in the future. It also coincided with our first dating anniversary so...
He took me to the Ivy spa to get couples massages yesterday and then took me to dinner at the Capital Grille (my fav restaurant.) I also just got flowers delivered to me at work. I bought him a gift and a handmade card with memories from our first year together. Cheesy? Yes. Cute anyway? I hope so.

Chinese take-out, a movie, flowers and cards.
Nothing to special.
For the first few years we'd go to the Sofitel but decided not to do that - there's too many birthdays around Valentine's Day so it gets too spendy.
i actually think this is really cute. : )
We don't usually make a big deal out of VDay, and this year is even less than normal.
Since Andy broke his leg 2 weeks ago and was in the hospital for surgery, he hasn't been very mobile (it's all he can to to get to & from work at this point) he hasn't had the opportunity to get out and do any shopping. I haven't had time to go do shopping for gifts either, so we're just skipping gift exchanges this year.

Both Mollie and I have been sick the past week so we didn't leave the house. I asked DH on Saturday morning if he got a card yet. I could tell by his face that was his plan when he went to town.
I suggested that he stop at the bakery instead and get us some yummy donuts instead of exchanging cards. So much better!!
We go to the same Chinese restaurant every year. It's quiet and not too busy and we love it.
We usually don't do cards or gifts but this year I bought DH a card and a small gift.
We went out to dinner on Saturday. Nothing too much today....although, I may plan on not bringing one stitch of school stuff home so I can actually pay attention to Big D.....
My mom and dad still send me flowers though. Softies.
Just cards for us! I'll probably whip something up for dinner for us to have after Carly goes to bed.
Actually....I might steal that hot dog idea! Randy loves Chicago dogs, so I think I might go during my lunch and buy stuff for that! Thanks for the idea!

We are never do much big. Normally just a nice dinner at home. DH is on call this week and I am pretty sure he will get called out so no plans.
We are going on a date this weekend, but not really for Valentines day.
We go to Victoria House in Victoria. We've gone there ever since on Vday since we started dating. I really look forward to it. It's usually packed, but it's so good. He proposed there 3 yrs ago, so it's always fun to go back and reminisce.
I think we'll exchange cards but that's about it.
In my car this morning was a card and money. I guess that is technically not getting me anything. LOL
Well tonight, we both work. So we did our date day on Saturday.
Science Museum, walk downtown St. Paul, went to Big Bowl and had some Thai food (my first time there), went and saw True Grit and then lattes at Starbucks that night.
We got each other cards.

Hey - no problem! Nice to know I'm not the only one who occasionally thinks that they sound good!
I have been really trying to sell my husband on the idea that we shouldn't celebrate v-day anymore now that our wedding anniversary is a week prior. We got our puppy and are going to financial peace university for our anniversary gifts.
In the past we have gone to a store, looked at the cards and picked one out that we would get for the other. Then we read each others card and put them back. Perhaps I will see if he wants to do this tonight after we get home from running to my mom's to drop off a table she wanted me to pick up for her. We'll also be stopping by my sister's so they can all see our puppy. So romantic I know! LOL
DH does not celebrate holidays, so we don't do Vday. I am celebrating it with my little nugget though. She is styling in her Vday outfit and I got her a pillow pet:)

We normally give each other a little gift. This weekend, however, I booked us a night at the Westin, went to the movies, and out to dinner. He ended buying me a massage. It was a win-win for both of us.
He just walked in the door with a Twix Bar and flowers. Yeah me!
