We had said we weren't going to do anything big (fine, great, no problem!) but we did go to Burger Jones on Saturday because we had a Parasole gift card. We were seated basically IN the kitchen though and it was loud and my burger was not good so I give Burger Jones two thumbs down.
It's been a long tiring day so I think I'm just cranky to begin with with doesn't help things. I should go to bed and try to wake up more cheery tomorrow :-)
We did dinner (with the babes along) at Cafe Latte. It turned out to be surprisingly relaxing for dining with a 2.5 year old and a 7 month old.
And then we ended up going to Lowe's and ordering a new oven. Not at all romantic, but the one we wanted was finally on sale.
DH did nothing, which I should have expected, but I was still a little bummed.
Usually DH does flowers and chocolates, and generally compains a bit about having to do so. This year he stated he HATES going out on the evening (I adore it as an excuse to get dressed up and go someplace nice since we very rarely ever do). I've been stir crazy since we haven't been able to go out in weeks with crazy work schedules and really hoped to get out. No, but he did make a homemade cheesecake and grilled filet mignon. It was nice but sort of uneventful since we cook a lot at home. He picked up a couple of CDs for me - one which I had mentioned in passing that I wanted. I got him a variety of dark chocolates and tickets to Micheal Feinstein in a few weeks for a Sinatra night (his favorite). He was excited.
Still stir crazy, but it was nice nonetheless.
H is super against Vday, but he got me flowers anyway. He got me a living plant instead of roses or something because apparently they dont mark those up around Vday like they do other arrangements!
We did a romantic but simple dinner at home after work...fondue and wine/beer, and homemade french silk pie! A wonderful valentines day!
