Re: Adding to Table ?
I just wanted to say this is also how I grew up and what DH and I do now. So I can't wait to pass this on. Even on the weekends, we eat all our meals together. I just realized we even do it when my parents visit!
I really like it and it was nice as a kid for us all to sit down and eat dinner as a family.

as it is now, she eats around 6-6:30. one of us feeds her while the other cooks our dinner. after she's done eating we get her ready for bed then i go and nurse her. we have the timing down perfectly now that as soon as she's asleep, our dinner is ready so we eat and catch up.
the other night at my parents we ended up eating at her dinner time so she sat at the table and ate with us.
i guess it all depends on the timing in the future but at the moment i like feeding her first because we get that one on one time with her where we aren't trying to eat ourselves and not really enjoy our meal because it's crazy (her eating usually involves blowing raspberries with a mouth full of carrots or peas at her dad because he taught her how to do that).
we never really ate at the table together growing up, we just all ate in the same area. still to this day at family dinners we do the same thing uness it's a special ocassion.

This may sound strange, but we always eat at the table, unless it is a snack. Since Andrew and I started dating I made it clear meals were eaten at a table. Which his family does not do, so him and I would always eat in the kitchen away from the table. When Xander was little he was in the swing next to the dinning room table for our meals, now he's in the high chair.

Yes, once we have children and they eat with us, we'll be eating at the table. I grew up in a home where we ate all of our meals at the table. I want to instill that in our children too.
