You might remember me from a few months ago asking around about apartments. Well, we found one and we've been in Decatur for about a month and so far so good. I hope to get to know enough about the area to become a regular ![]()
Anyway, I need restaurant recs. Specifically, I need to find a casual, not too expensive, Italian restaurant with amazing food that is independently owned/not a chain. Don't care where it is but it can't be $20 an entree.
Then I was thinking... since the weather is going to be so beautiful this weekend, I'd love to find a place where you can sit outside. Preferably downtown/midtown with good people watching. When we lived in Rochester NY there was this street called Park Ave and it was all restaurants and little shops, very quaint and awesome. I guess I'm kind of looking for something like that.
I tried Googling, but I think my criteria was too specific, haha.
Re: Need restaurant recs, please!
I have restaurant reviews in my bio.
Figo Pasta has several locations and is really good.

Figo is good and there are lots of locations.
another local chain is Little Azio's and the midtown location as a nice outdoor area.
Baraonda in Midtown is pretty good and has a nice outdoor patio.

In Decatur, it isn't Italian but Leon's Full service is good and has a great outdoor area. It also has a bocce ball area that is fun.
Ninos and Alfredo's on Cheshire Bridge are authentic Italian - very good for the price.
I love the restaurants in Decatur - both Cakes and Ale and Taqueria del Sol were recently nominated for James Beard awards. Not Italian but please go and enjoy them sometime!!
We enjoy Capozzi's
