I'm sad we have more snow.
I'm happy that I found baby bedding I like. Maybe I'll order it this week.
Re: Monday, Monday
Haha. That happens to me all the time.
$600 is expensive. Mine was $300 and I thought that was a lot. And it sucks paying that much for something that will be pretty much ruined in less than a year. Teething did a number on our crib. Ha.
Ok. $300 I can handle. But wow, they had some that were MORE than $600. I was like "Who buys this?!" Haha. I feel like baby stuff is like wedding stuff, they trick you into thinking you need all this fancy stuff when you really don't.
Did he chew on the rails, slats or both?
So true. I think bedding is one of the things they gouge you on the worst, since you can't (or shouldn't) use 75% of the things that come with the bedding sets.
Just the rails.
Wop - Care to post a pic of the bedding? I can't recall if you said - are you finding out the sex of the baby? Or just buying/decorating neutral colors?
I had a great weekend and got to see my preggo BFF in Chicago. She's 8 months, and the tiniest pregnant woman I've ever seen. If she wears a sweatshirt I swear you can't tell she's even knocked up. I actually have a side question to ask related to her, but I think I'll ask in another post. :-)
Yeah, I'm only buying sheets and a crib skirt seperately. With 2 sheets and the skirt it's under $100. Some of those bedding sets are insanely priced. I feel like I'm going to be such a cheap mom. LOL.
Did you get a rail guard for your crib by any chance?
$600 is expensive for a crib if you ask me. That being said, don't go to USA Baby then. haha. I got mine for under $200 on sale, and it's made by the same people who make the Million Dollar Baby cribs. It's very sturdy and beautiful. I did my entire nursery on a budget.
I did not get a rail gaurd. I probably should have but never got around to it, and before I knew it it was too late.
And there is nothing wrong with being a cheap mom.
I must be super cheap since I had my mom make me my crib skirt and 4 sheets, and it was way cheaper than $100. Oh well, I don't mind being cheap!
Sure. We're founding what we're having, but we still want a neutral room because we plan on having at least one more child and it would be nice to have most things be neutral in case we have another baby of the opposite sex. Plus I'm not into pink and blue. I really like oranges, greens, and yellows. I think we'll be able to make a room more boy or girl with accessories.

"You're like my conscience calling," one of the guys I work for tells me this morning.
Yeah, that's not a good thing. Be your own conscience! Don't make me do it for you. Meet your deadlines and do your work. I shouldn't have to call you and remind you elevinty billion times.
"But it's a good thing," he says. "Everyone needs a conscience. It's good that you call me."
Grrrr..
Oo. Good to know.
Would you mind sharing which crib you have?
Baby Mod - Cadence in espresso from Walmart.com. Here is all my info:

I basically took the approach that I wasn't buying the baby more expensive furniture than what I have in my own bedroom. It's just going to get beat on. :-)
Very cute indeed.
Very cute!
Very cute bedding Wop!
We just completed our registry this weekend. I am still in major sticker shock.
Thank you for sharing. Great nursery!
And it doesn't get any cheaper after the baby arrives. I always ponder how "poor people" do it.
Morning ladies,
Wop, very cool bedding! I like that it's bold and bright.
Deeder, sorry to hear about your car. Car trouble is my least favorite thing, so frustrating.
I'm also bummed about the snow. Most years I'm loving it, but for some reason this year I'm just over it. I'm lobbying for a snow blower and a garage by next winter...
Wop- I love the baby stuff! Too cute
Deeder- That sucks about the car
Mrs.KerCo- May we be blessed with a new Violet picture
I start my new job as a CNA on Wednesday! I'm so relieved to have finally found steady work. They even pay me for my travel time (it's home health care).

I made this stuff too -- then i used leftover fabric to make balloons for the walls.
Mine is a Baby Mod - Parklane from Walmart.com. Love it.

Today's my first day of unemployment, it's weird to not have a place to go to.
