Wednesday

I think it's Wednesday.  It might be Tuesday.  It might be Thursday.  This week has just been all over the place for me.

How's everyone else doing this lovely morning?  It actually was a pretty sunrise.  Chilly, but pretty.

Re: Wednesday

  • BEAUTIFUL day!  I was surprised to see my car thermometer read 9 degrees.  Brrr.  But I am loving the sunshine.
  • Seriously cold.  I made the comment to Andy during that warm stretch (was that just a week ago?  It feels like 7 years.) that I hope it stays this warm for the BeerFest.  Obviously Mother Nature heard me and decided to give me the finger.
  • Yay for Wednesday.  I'm ready for the weekend already.

  • It's Wednesday which mean I get to go and pick up the Aeron chiar I won and then bring it back to the office and sit in it and figure out the darn phone system that is there.
  • So apparently being pregnant makes me laugh like a drunk Santa according to Nick.  I've been doing these really strange laughs when someone makes a joke.

  • I am leaving early today and taking tomorrow off to work on the new house.  I can't wait to watch it transform into something cute.

Woot!  Awesome that you won a chair.

Wop - I heard from someone that the pressure of the baby on your diaphragm (sp?) can change the way you laugh.  That might be complete cow manure, but that could explain you laughing like Mr. Claus.

    Sounds like fun!!!

  • Andy is sending me pics of NZ and I'm getting all excited.  We're not going until December, but I'm so friggin' excited.

    You've been?  Any tips?

We're planning a 3 week trip there for late December - early January.  We want to incorporate a good deal of hiking (or tramping as they seem to call it) but still stay in some hotels/B&B's.  Every photo I see just looks amazing.

  • I got an email from Red Lobster about their Lobster Fest going on right now.  I can't wait until we can go!  I have a $25 gift card which is a bonus too.

  • My new (used) car crapped out on me last night while I was driving on the expressway.  It literally just SHUT OFF as I was pulling on the off ramp to my house.  No power steering, no brakes, nothing.  I was able to force it over to the side of the road and thank god it started right back up and I made it home.  The dealership had it towed there this morning, and if it isn't back in my driveway by 6:30 pm they better be delivering a rental car so I can work tonight.  Total BS.  So much for buying a more reliable vehicle!

In good news, I got my iPhone yesterday and I love it :)

I had something similar happen to my 2009 car.  I drove all the way out to FedEx by the airport to pick up a package they wouldn't leave at the house, and as I was pulling into the parking lot, it just died.  Luckily I coasted into a parking spot.  I had to call Nick to come and look at it because it wouldn't start back up.  After 30 min of tinkering in the freezing cold he finally got it running long enough to drive home while I followed.  What a nightmare!  It turned out to be a bad airflow sensor.

Yes, I went 10 years ago (OMG!  10 years!  Ugh I'm getting old) for 3 weeks but only spent about 5 days in NZ.  We went to the North Island and visited Rotorua and Auckland.  We visited the Whaka geothermal area (very stinky...hehe  Stick out tongue), and saw a Whaka Maori village, took a Gondola ride, went to the Agrodome  where we saw a sheep/sheep dog show (sounds lame but it was kinda cool).  My favorite part was a helicopter tour over Lake Rotorua.  The tour we went on actually landed on the island in the middle of the lake, where we got a very informative guided tour/hike.  The views from the helicopter were absolutely gorgeous.

Which island are you going to?  We went in June/July, so it was pretty chilly there, but you should have great weather.

Side note, I bought a pair of wool mittens at the Agrodome, and I left them in one of the hotel rooms.  I was SO bummed.  Haha.  That would have been my favorite souvenier of all time.  It was a sad day.

Please update with your plans so I can live vicariously through you.  I'd LOVE to go back someday.

I'm sorry about your car.  That really sucks.  Hopefully it gets fixed TODAY!

And I'm jealous about your new phone!!!   That is awesome.

Closing costs were lower than expected so I have some "extra" money...and I reallllllly want a new phone.....hmmmmmm!  Hehe.

  • Yeah the mechanic said it sounds like a computer issue or something, totally bizarre.  Hopefully it's fixed asap!

Yes, the iPhone 4 for Verizon.  DH has a Droid and says my iPhone is "too simple" haha.  But I looove it!  My last phone was a Samsung Rogue and the iphone is 100x better.  So intuitive and easy to use.  Love love love! D&M dooooo it ;)

Dude, weird, I have a Samsung Rogue right now!  Haha.  I was fairly happy with it until about October (after having it for 1 year) when the battery life took a crap.

Awesome - thank you for the info and I'm C&Ping that to Andy right now. :-)

We are in the early stages, our friends went a few years ago and another friend did a wine apprenticeship out there for a few months and they suggested that we would like the South Island better.  So right now we have been focusing down there, but I would still consider the North Island, at least for part of the trip.

The hardest part is trying to fit everything I want to see and do in.  A helicopter ride sounds amazing and our friends went on a day cruise through the fjords where the crew caught all kinds of seafood and cooked it up on the spot to enjoy.  It's also hard, because I feel like we could do a 3 week long backpack, but I want to be able to drive and see cities/towns too so we have to make room for both.

The underline made me laugh a little because I was thinking the same thing about you guys!  Ha.  But honestly, you couldn't go to the North Island and not have a good time.  Where ever you go, you will have an amazing time.

  • I'm about ready to rip this phone system out and throw it out the window I'm so frustrated! If your in the Commerce & Weston area looking out!

  • I took a 30 minute lunch today and came back to 3 voicemails.  Seems excessive.

I hate getting voicemail at work.  It's always a 5 minute message about something stupid.
