wednesday musings

it's wednesday but it feels like tuesday.  im so tired, baby olive was up crying starting at 4:30 am.  i stayed up late talking with my friend until 10:15 or so (i realize that is not late for a lot of you!) and i ran 3.2 miles yesterday (walked part of it) to train for the 5k im running in less than a month.  also had my mom's birthday dinner last night, which was a dysfunctional stressful couple of hours.

and i forgot my wedding rings at home this morning and i feel really naked. and i left my water bottle at home too.  and i have a 2.5 hour meeting this afternoon.  and i feel fat and discouraged about my weight loss.

in other words, oh happy day.

how is your wednesday?

Re: wednesday musings

  • I'm exhausted and still coughing up my lungs. However, the coughing has nothing on the lack of sleep. I was up til after 2 and then had a freakingly real nightmare and was wide awake at 5am. Sleep did not happen after that.

Last night, I finally had all the wedding pictures printed so we went to Target and found two cute wedding albums (on clearance too!) to hold them so I put them all in order and into the album. Worked on a St. Patty's hat for my niece and then tried to, unsuccessfully, fall asleep.

    Why is it only Wednesday?!

  • 3.2 miles, you go girl!

I feel like I've hit a lull with my 5k "training".. last I was running upwards of 2.5 miles straight and this week I can barely finish a mile straight. It's awful. I still have two months but considering the progress I was making it is discouraging. I blame it on the way I ate this weekend.. at least I hope that's all it is.

The only reason I'm stoked it's Wednesday is because I'm off tomorrow to take my first stab at skiing.. and I'm nervous as hell about it. I tried snowboarding once, and it was no bueno. J is an avid snowboarder, so I basically have to learn one or the other if I want to be able to do something besides sit in the lodge all day while he's whizzing down the slopes with our hypothetical children.

If any skiiers/snowboarders have any first time tips, that'd be gnarly.

um, 10:15?  I'm lucky if I see 9pm right about now.  Got more painting done last night after work, while DH ran to Lowes (again!!) and picked up Wawa sandwiches.  I cleaned up the brushes, ate, and was passed out on the couch by 8pm.  Then I was up at 3 this morning, throwing laundry in the washer and eating ice cream (which reminds me, I'm almost out!).  I fell back asleep just in time for my alarm to go off.

I'm kind of annoyed with our jeweler right now.  I bent one of the prongs on my engagement ring so I took it in to be repaired last Monday (VDay).  It was supposed to be done on Thursday or Friday.  I went to pick it up this past Monday morning and she said she hadn't had the rodium redone yet (which I didn't think it needed since it was just done right before the wedding in Sept).  Anyway, I just want it back - I've already not been wearing it for almost a month since I realized it was bent.  I can't complain too much since we don't pay for any of the repairs or cleaning since K's mom works at the store, but I want my damn ring back!!!!!!!

  • Agreed, why is it only Wednesday?

Last night was good, came home and watched my shows on Hulu while waiting for Don to get home.  Once he finally got home around 7 I made turkey burgers and sweet potato fries, so yummy!  Then we worked on an application for a job in Richmond where my job offer is located.  And then finally we had some "fun time" together.  It was a pretty good night.

I absolutely did NOT want to get up this morning.  I laid in bed for an extra 20 mins this morning, which meant I had to rush to put my lunch together and throw dinner in the crockpot.  We're having dijon chicken w/ the WW mac 'n' cheese I made on Sunday.  With the crazy temps we've been having my sinus's aren't happy at the moment, which really makes me not want to be sitting at work right now, but here I am!

My Mom's coming on Saturday and we're going shopping, which I'm happy about.  We haven't gone shopping together since Nov, so it'll be fun.

  • Well my Wednesday has been interesting. Know that crazy church (WBC?) that protests everything. Well, they are protesting at my work. i didn't see them when I came in today but parents are saying little kids are holding signs saying Rabbis rape people, ect. It;s just gross.

On grandma was like how unamerican. Sadly it is very american with freedom of speech and right to assemble.

So this is my wednesday so far

  • Booooooooo to you feeling in disarray Shauni. I hope today shapes up for you. I hate when I forget things at home. I do forget my rings at least once a week. LOL

I feel like butthole today. I cannot wait until this sinus crappola is gone. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said "why exactly did you wait this long, were you waiting for your head to burst?" Eeeeeeeee. I got a zpack, claritin D, flonase, and if it's not gone in two weeks I have to get a CAT scan. Wheeeeee.

My plans for the weekend are up in the air. The Mummers Show of Shows is in AC this weekend. I was going to go for the day with my friend, her baby, and another friend. My friend and baby are out due to the flu. Other friend is up in the air, as am I. If at least four people wouldn't be pissed off at me for not going when I promised I would, I'd definitely be staying home. It's not far, I can shoot down for a few hours and then head back home.

Halfway through the week. I should totally buckle down and work today. LOL

Last night I dropped my prescriptions off at Rite Aid at 5:30. I went to Redners, home to unload, change and eat. I packed my lunch bag and gym bag, then I lolled around on the couch watching 90201 and Gossip Girl. I called Rite Aid at 9:15 and ripped them a new a$$hole since my prescriptions still weren't ready. I stalked in there at 9:30 in PJs and slippers feeling mean as a snake. Hiss. I went back home and went immediately got into bed.

This morning I woke up at 7, put away three loads of laundry, and stopped at DD and Hallmark on the way in.

I think I should buy some lotto tickets today.

Ugh, I'm normally all about freedom of speech and "I don't agree with what you're saying, but I'd die for your right to say it", but these WBC people make me so angry. If they all died in a fiery crash on the way to their next protest, I'd probably throw a huge party.

  • I'm not sure if I could control myself around WBC scum.  I'm pretty sure I'd wind up getting arrested if they were anywhere near me.

I'm home today because I don't feel good.  Hopefully I can get some studying done in between bouts of wallowing on the couch.  At some point I want to get off my lazy bum and attempt to do a workout, even a half-hearted one.  I also have two packages waiting for me at the apartment leasing center, and I'm too lazy to even go check that out.  In exciting news, I bid on a Coach bag on Ebay and won it - $75 for a $300 bag I've been eyeing!  I still haven't told Jeff... Embarrassed

I was just reading about them yesterda.  They apparently tried to prod 4chan into attacking them.  The actual leaders, the Phelps family, apparently don't really care about the "causes" behind the protests.  They just wait for people to somehow infringe on their rights, then they sue.  And make loads of money in the process.

I had a fun commute in today.  One of the transit systems I used had to suspend service.  So I took an alt route into work - which got me there late of course.  But just as I got into the city (still had to get to work), I get an alert notifying me the system is resuming normal service.  And we're supposed to have a fire drill any minute.  But it's Wednesday.

  • HOla chicas!

I'm having a decent day so far, despite being 45 mins late. Whoops.

I'm probably still riding my high from last night.  I bought a white supercharged Range Rover.  yay.

We've been thinking about buying a practical car to transport the doggie and baby seats should they come along.   My two seater 911 isn't really ideal.  Anyway, the Range is the only SUV I like.

    What a steal!  So jealous!
I'm going to the coach outlet next weekend since Don took that weekend off.  Although, now I feel like I shouldn't buy one right now because the branch manager of my store just gave me a belated wedding gift, a $50 GC to BBB and a new Vera Bradley purse.  So I'll have to be using that purse from now on.

  • Yesterday I didn't do much left work aorund 12:30 and then went to get my eyelash extensions on, and got out of there around 3:00 then came home and laundrypalooza lived up to its name because I got 4 whole loads done (even hung up and folded). Then I had to clean the kitchen, I had three pots sitting on the stove with dried food in them...gross! And then husband got home and we talked and spent some nice time together then finally went to bed aorund 1:30am. Today I have to finish up laundry, today is towels and H work clothes. And I need to stop by the store on my way home but I don't know what I want to get to make for dinner?
