    Please tell me it was for cleaning the floors or toilets.

    No, a shirt with Miley Cyrus on it.

    Hahaha.  Totally kidding.  I wasn't very clear in my original post.  It was a shirt for Miley Cyrus's fashion line.  NOT a shirt with Miley Cyrus on it.

    Haha.  You guys really thought I was weird.

  • My confession is that, even though one of my new year's resolutions was to fold and put away my laundry after I wash it, I've still been digging around in laundry baskets to fish out clean clothes for the last two months (and every month before that).  I hate folding laundry with a passion that burns like the fire of a thousand suns.  DH made a comment the other day about always having to do the kids' laundry and I said that's not fair.  I do my kid's laundry just as often he does.  I just don't usually put it away.  Embarrassed

    I have been bad about this too.  My H sleeps during the day and I usually fold the clothes on the bed while Macy is napping.  So since I don't want to bother him my routine has gotten effed up.  So yeah, lately laundry folding has been neglected at my house.  I just don't have motivation to fold the laundry before bed.  And besides, by then the baby is in bed and I can't put away the clothes in her room.

    I was also wondering this! :)

  • I got 2 emails earlier today where I saw the following spelling/grammar offenses and I wanted to murder the people involved:

    Each donor that get's on that bus

    Look you are shinning so bright that the Sales Team already see's it

    I know that people who whine about spelling/grammar sht all the time should "get a life" but I seriously cannot help it. When I see outrageous mistakes like that, I feel so angry! If anyone's ever read the book Eats, Shoots & Leaves, that author does a good job describing my feelings. Like I feel ashamed of how angry I get when I see these mistakes but I can't help it! I know it's not a big deal to everyone, although I also know that a lot of women on this board are like-minded and feel the same way I do so that makes me happy :)

    Also, LOL about Kathy's Miley Cyrus shirt!!

    Sigh. This part of my post looked a lot more dramatic when I was able to copy and paste the actual font that these people used. But stupid nest just can't handle that without all those horrible codes showing up :p

  • I let my DD get in our pool yesterday to test out our new camera. The pool isn't heated. She asked if she could get in and try the camera and I said sure. (I did not think she really would). A couple mins later out she comes with her bathing suit on and jumps in. On the bright side the camera works. :P

    I love this book!!!  I use in my classroom all the time!!!  There is another book that is similar by the same author.  I can't think of the title right now.  I am definitely not a grammar queen, but I do try my best.  I always try to model to my students, if you are not sure, look it up.

    It was like 72, which is way to cold for me but I guess not for a 13 y/o.

    I also needed this clarification, because I was definitely picturing you with a t-shirt with Miley's face on it, and I was giving my computer screen a big ol' "WTF happened to Kathy" face.

    Hahaha.  I am totally LOLing at the thought of me buying a shirt with Miley Cyrus on it.  Ahhh, if that were the case I would need to check myself into the crazy house.  Under no circumstances is it acceptable for a soon to be 30 year old to wear a shirt with Miley Cyrus on it :P

    But just for that, if I ever get to attend another GTG, I am totally going to show up in a Miley Cyrus shirt........and not one from her fashion line!

    See and that's another thing, it's embarrassing to complain about this stuff because then everyone thinks I'm scrutinizing what they write all the time Stick out tongue Kathy, as long as you don't use apostrophes in an outrageously awful way, we will be just fine, LOL! You can even wear a complete Miley outfit from head to toe and I'll still be your friend.

    I just can't deal with the apostrophe thing. All of my cousin's FB status updates are effed up like that. She's always writing "pic's" and "day's off"... ugh!

    Why don't you start a daily thread with mistakes from emails you get.  We will all learn something.  Seriously.

    Sometimes we just need to be called out.  I was spelling definitely wrong for like 10 years.  Finally some one told me.

    My friend says CREAM brulee instead of creme brulee.  I so badly want to correct her, but I don't.  I know if I mispronounced something I would want someone to tell me so I don't continue to make an asss out of myself.

  • I try to look at the grammar/spelling stuff as job security. But sometimes I just wonder why, especially with overused and misused apostrophes. It's just so random that I don't know why someone even thought to do that (as in the examples you've given).

    The one that really pisses me off is the repeated misuse of "its" in one of Lily's books. Really?! I refuse to read it to her; I always make DH read that book.

    It's a stupid book anyway.

    LOL!  One day Parker came home from school with this counting activity.  The directions were for the child to glue the correct amount of bones for each number.  The numbers listed were 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.  Well they had a bone glued for zero.  It just bothered me. (and apparently still does)  I wanted to say something but I didn't want to be 'That Mom'.  I just took the bone off since we were practicing at home.

    Side note: I go to the OB Tuesday and will be talking to them about it, but can't say it will change my mind with what I eat.

    My H makes creme brulee all the time and his mother drives me insane by calling it "cream brulee".  I just want to choke her!!  This is not the only word she says wrong...

     leash = lish

    wash = wersh

    wish = wersh

    I think she has a hearing problem that contributes to this mispronunciation but I'm so fed up with it that I don't care.
