eyebrow threading

Anyone know a place to get this done in the metro?  I live in NW suburbs but am willing to drive if the person comes highly recommended.  I tend to have bad reactions to waxing and want to try this, but prefer not to do it in the window at a mallEmbarrassed

Re: eyebrow threading

  • I did it at a kiosk in Southdale Mall.  The woman did an amazing job.  I closed my eyes so I didn't know if people were watching me or not.  I know that doesn't really help you.

  • I too got it done at a mall but Eden Prairie. To me it hurt a lot more then waxing and it didn't last that long at all.
  • I see Christina at Blink!. blinkforbeauty.com.  She's incredible, especially if you have bushy eyebrows like I do.   It's a little pricey, but mine are so out of control that it's worth it.

I started going to her because I was on accutane and so couldn't have waxing done.  The last time I went she actually did a combo of waxing and threading.

  • Just read the OP more clearly.  I tend to get a rash of waxing most places I've gone - even fancy Aveda salons.  There's redness after threading, but this time when she did the combo my skin didn't panic at all.  It was fantastic.
  • Do not go to the place in Ridgedale. I know you said you didn't want a mall setting where people could see you, but that place (can't remember the name) is pretty private. However, she cut me with the thread twice! I was bleeding and had big cuts that could be seen for about a week.
  • I've only done it once and I did it at MOA.  I was going to suggest Ridgedale, but it looks like Whitman had a bad experience and that would make me stay away.  I will say that even though it gave me a super bad headache (maybe the headache was coming on any way, who knows) my eyebrows had never looked better.

  • I have it done at the place at MOA.  $12.  That said, you have to tell them not to make them too thin.  But it is fast, and I cannot do waxing due to Differin.  I'd love to try Blink, but I'm not sure I can justify double the price.  :)

It KILLS me to spend that much.  I went a few months ago to a normal salon, since I didn't have the waxing restriction anymore.  It was awful, since now I've seen how good Christina can make my brows look. I just try to pluck in between so I can stretch it out as long as possible.

I swear, before I moved to Minneapolis, I did my eyebrows by myself and spent <$20 on a haircut.  Now I pay $30 for my eyebrows and $60 for my hair. Ugh.

You might have convinced  me to give her a try.  Sometimes the women at MOA mess up the arch on one of my brows a bit, so if this woman is amazing, then I could be sold on the cost.  I do save money on my cut and color by going to Juut's training salon in Uptown, though.  :)
