Monday...again

Good Morning!
My boss is on furlough this week so I'm determined to have a good week!

Weekend Update...
Friday night we had pizza for dinner and just lounged around.  Saturday, we got up and had breakfast w/ Don's dad and grandfather.  Then Don had to go into work so while he did that I went to do some shopping...I got khakis, a belt, a shirt, and a new bra (all for just under $100).  Don finished up work around 2, which was surprising.  So we went to get the dog washed, that was fun as always.  After that we went over to his Dad's house to put air in my tires and Don had to do some work on his car too.  By the time we finished that we went home, changed, and went to see Hall Pass...we loved it, hilarious!!!  After the movie we went and had a late dinner at Smokey Bones, worst service ever, boo!!!  On Sunday...poor Molly (our dog) threw up 3 times...once on our bed, on the stairs, and in the hallway (it was all snot looking thank goodness).  I was going to go to a bridal show w/ a friend of mine, but I stayed home to keep an eye on Molly.  Thank goodness she didn't get sick again!  Don helped move a TV at hi BILs place and then they were supposed to go to a Tattoo Festival that was in town, but they were going to end up going until after 3 so Don decided not to go.  We'd already made plans w/ our friends to go to church w/ them and dinner afterwards.  Don's not a huge church person, but agreed to try their church out b/c it's a "rock" church.  I almost cried I was so happy, he loved it...the sermon spoke to him and he's ready to go again next week!  It made my heart smile!  We went and got mexican after church and that just topped off our weekend.

In other news...
Don's going to quite pizza hut this week...so that means we'll have the weekends together again...FINALLY!!!  I crunched the numbers and we can afford for him to stop working.

Re: Monday...again

  • So glad you'll have your hubby on weekends again!

My weekend was good (how could it not be with an adorable 6 month old in the picture??). Friday night, I made the pom-pom balls for my sister's wedding. Saturday I had lunch with an old friend which was awesome. After that, me, Jeremy, my sister and nephew all went into "town" and realized there is absolutely, postively nothing to do in town. The mall has two okay stores and that's it. Sunday was church and then back to the parents where I printed invitations and started assembling. Jeremy and my dad were out playing tennis and I went back to our room to read and crashed...for two hours...oops.

We got home and I watched the season premieres of Army Wives and RHOC.

  • I also watched Army Wives.. I was kinda disappointed. How about you Emily?

We had a pretty relaxing weekend. Friday we made dinner at home and relaxed.

Saturday we both worked then after H got out of work we got some beers with friends. Sunday I had a really bad headache so we hung out H did the grocery shopping, which he NEVER does. I made buffalo chicken pizza, yummy.. and lounaged around the house.

We didn't do laundry yesterday so I have to go to the laundrymat after work and do it.. BOOO...

  • Jen-  That's great that he can quit!!!  Smile

Friday  night we filled in on a couple bowling league with one of Josh's co-workers.  Was a lot of fun!!  I usually suck at bowling and my goal was to get at least a 65. (seriously, that's how bad i suck).  I got a 117, 186, and 107.  I was SOOOO excited about the 187.  I didn't make myself look like a complete loser, and actually, Josh and I tied for number of pins overall.  :-)

Saturday, did some errands and hung out at home.  Was supposed to meet up with a couple girlfriends, but plans got cancelled.

  • TGI...oh, nevermind.  Monday is going to suck because my coffee is verrrrrry weak this morning.  The vendor that runs our cafeteria lost their contract and Friday will be their last day.  I noticed all last week that things were running out and not being replaced - this week is bound to be worse.  Good thing I'm gonna be brown-bagging hardcore from here on out.

K ended up working late Friday and got home JUST IN TIME to go along to the vet.  Fat Boy had an obstruction in his urethra and was deemed 'critical' when the vet examined him.  They ended up keeping him for the weekend because they had to cath him and start an iv for fluids.  Apparently he has 'Sensitive Cat Syndrome' and excess mucus production caused the obstruction (gross, I know).  The only thing we can figure is since we set up the nursery he just freaked.  He's gonna have a cow when this baby actually comes home and wails all night long.  Jiminy Crickets - I guess we're gonna have to send him to therapy.  At least I can pick him up tonight although there will be a very big vet bill that I was not anticipating.  So much for getting ahead.

We had our 'Prepared Childbirth' class on Saturday and got to tour L&D.  Then we just vegged out at home Saturday evening.  Did grocery shopping on Sunday morning and then sat down and worked through our budget.  I thought it would be a more tense conversation but we were both pretty rational about it.  Not really thrilled with the bottom line, but it is what it is.  K is debating taking a second job but I don't know that it's worth it for him to miss out on time with the baby when we can make ends meet for now.  Jelly bean is only going to be little for so long and although we'd definitely like more than one, I think our timeline is going to have to be a little bit longer than we originally anticipated.

Very excited for the season finale of White Collar this week.  And for nicer weather so we can start walking and get this show on the road!

  • Yay for no more Pizza Hut, Jen!

This weekend's over all rating was 0.

H picked me up from work and we went to Carrabbas. (+2). My veal picatta wasn't that good (-1). I got some cheap books from target (+1). RPI won on Friday night (+4). Saturday, I slept until 10:30AM (+2). H got me a muffin (+1). I got a whole bunch of baking stuff from BBB and Hobby Lobby (+2). RPI lost to Colgate (-4). We had Applebee's for dinner (+1) and I got a really tasty Bahama Mama (+2). On Sunday, I slept until 11 (+2). H and I had fun bed time until 1 (+5). We got Red Robin for dinner (+2). RPI lost to Colgate (-6). In double overtime (-10). And we had to drive home in sleet (-3).

Despite the fact that it's snowing, AGAIN, today has been an interesting day. H dropped me off at work at 8ish. There were maybe 5 people here. We spent the next hour digging out people who got stuck in the slush moat. Yes, my office somehow has a slush moat. One of my coworkers is turning 40 today, so his cube was filled with balloons (that are continuously popping now that he's here) and covered in all these signs. Hysterical. No work has gotten done here at all.

There's supposed to be a soccer game tonight, but I kind of don't want to go. Stupid snow.

  • Morning!  H and I are back from our weekend in NYC!  We had SO much fun out there (as always!)

We left Thursday night after work and didn't get out there until after midnight.  We stopped for dinner on the way and were absolutely exhausted by the time we finally arrived so we just crashed.

Friday was wedding day for H's father and my new stepmother-in-law!  We woke up, got all dressed up, and headed to the City Hall in Manhattan.  There was a group of about 12 of us by the time everyone arrived.  SMIL had on a nice dress, and you can buy flowers right inside the city hall.  We waited for a few minutes for them to file the paperwork, then we were led into the back where there are two chapels.  We were directed into one of the chapels and they had their service.  They exchanged rings and everything, and H was an official witness.

After the ceremony, we went to dinner at this really nice Italian restaraunt where we were joined by about 8 more people so there was a nice group of about 20 of us.  The food was unbelievable.  After that, everyone went back to the house where we played music, danced, and visited until after midnight.  SO much fun.  I even got H to salsa with me lol.

Saturday, FIL and SMIL left to go on a little "honeymoon" at Mohegan Sun for the night so me, H, SIL and SSIL were on our own.  H and I went into Manhattan for the day and met up with some of our friends.  We got breakfast at a deli, went to the Museam of Natural History and took a walk in Central Park.  Later on, H and I went back up and we went out for Japanese Hibbachi (one of my favorites) with SIl and SSIL.  We came home and watched a movie afterwards and just went to bed.

Sunday we got up, made breakfast at the house, then H and I left.  Didn't want the weekend to end but Monday is here and I am SWAMPED at work!

This is mine and H's favorite place in the entire world. We actually thought and looked into getting married there. My family didn't like the idea. We actually talk about flying home nor telling anyone and just going there for the weekend. When we lived in mass we would go at least once a month.

    I hope they had fun!

  • Aloha. Monday. Blah. I have a busy week ahead. This weekend is my Pop's 80th birthday party and my family birthday party on Saturday. MFD's cousin's baby shower is Sunday. I don't want to go at ALL. I should make a day of birthday plans. Besides I just got the invitation, don't give me two weeks' notice.

I had a really productive weekend. My house is probably about half spring cleaned.

Friday I put our bedroom back together and ripped the painter?s tape off, vacuumed and mopped and dusted all surfaces, and went to a jewelry demo. I got home at 10, watched Larry Flynt with MFD, and got into bed at 1.

Saturday I was wide awake at 6:15. WTF. I changed spare bed sheets, started laundry, purged and organized gift wrap, cleaned powder room, talked to my Dad, gave the kitchen a deep clean, decorated for St. Patrick?s Day, picked up trash out front and out back, and cleaned and reorganized the bathroom.

I headed out at 11:30 to go to Marshall?s, where I got socks, a bowl for the bathroom, a hanging jewelry organizer, and my hat for the Royal Wedding Party. I had birthday month lunch with two of my BFFs, dropped MFD?s lunch off to him, and then went grocery shopping. When I got home I took a three hour nap. It was awesome.

MFD made a fabulous dinner and we watched five hours of Beyond Scared Straight. We went to bed at 1 and I read mags until 1:30.

Sunday I woke up at 7:30 but went back to bed for two hours. Glorious. I put potato soup in the crock, loaded the dishwasher and wiped down the kitchen. I dusted the living room and dining room in my Royal Wedding hat, watched HGTV, talked to Mom and Laura, and then I finished painting the bedroom.

I made cupcakes, watched The Chicago Code and Mad Love, dusted the basement, cleaned up the bedroom, changed the sheets, showered, and prepped dinner. We watched Chopped while I painted my nails, then ate and watched Criminal Minds, Jersey Shore and Family Guy. I put five loads of laundry away, packed my lunch, and got into bed at 11 to watch the news and read.

  • Jen, happy return of your hubby on the weekends!

QoA, your +/- system made me laugh. Sorry for the overall 0 though.

I recorded Army Wives. I hate when they drag things out, so I like to fast forward.

  • DH took today off of work.  I'm super jealous!  But tonight or tomorrow we're going to plan our anniversary vacation.  The annoying part is, I probably won't be able to take much time (if any) off work until then.  We're swamped at work.

Friday was quiet, although DH annoyed me and I ended up not making a cake like I wanted to.

Saturday night was a poker night with all our friends.  One flew in from CA with her 5-month old daughter.  Her husband surprised her by showing up here without telling her.  The baby was adorable and did NOT help the baby fever at all.

Yesterday we stayed in, catching up on TV and chores.

I'm looking forward to the finale of White Collar tomorrow.  And that's about it.  My week is going to be miserable.  DH is also really concerned about me quitting, so I think I'm stuck here for another couple months.  :-(

  • It's Monday again and well...yep we all know how that works out.

I am down 1lb :-) Super excited about that.

Friday night I went out dancing with my bff. We had a blast! It sometimes feels good to be young :-)

Saturday was E's bday and the day my cold started in. We trudged through! She had a blast and my favorite family showed up. So I didn't have to drink to tolerate the icky ones.

Sunday was her actual birthday so we went out to her favorite breakfast spot then had to do some grocery shopping. I cleaned my carpets, kitchen, bathrooms and then took a nap!

  • Another week begins....

This weekend was pretty lame for me but i wouldn't say it was bad. Friday I went and got a couple of things I needed for my soon to be SIL's bridal shower this next Sunday I am throwing. Then was actually in bed by like 1. Saturday I cleaned, I guess it was spring cleaning time. Then about 7'oclock I went over to my dads to hang out for about an hour then came back home and was in bed by 11. H went to the track with his friends so I was a total bum. Sunday me and H got up, got ready for the day and went and had lunch. Then we went to academy he needed a fishing reel. Then we went to his mothers house and hung out for alittle bit.

On our way home we passed a new shopping center they had put up and we saw they had a mattress store in there and we stopped (we have been looking for a king mattress for almost a year) and we found out that that place sales only seally mattress' and they are mattresses that in shippment to whatever store they were trying to get to the plastic ripped and they got dirty and the department stores won't take them so seally has to take them back and then this store buys them. So we wound up getting a king Stearns and Fosters bed for 600 dollars (it had a dirt spot about the size of my hand in one corner). So that was our night last night setting it up and i had to run to target and go get some sheets and then wash them and make the bed, it was wonderful. I did not want to get out of bed this morning!!

  • My weekend was not bad but felt too short! Saturday I drove 2 hours to meet this dog and her foster momma. I fell in love and once I got home, I told James about her and he said well find out what to do to adopt her and we can make her our first dog Big Smile. Sat night, we kind of got into it with each other but later that night and Sunday was much butter. Yesterday, I went to Lowe's and Home Depot with the inlaws to find a fridge and do a final walk through of our new place. We had a late lunch at Red Robin and went back home. It was raining all day yesterday so it was definitely a sityourbutdownonthecouch kind of day.

  • thatsjessie-congrats on the weight loss, girl!

sounds like everyone else had busy productive weekends!  not this girl :)

friday night i had WW and lost 3 more pounds!  i feel GREAT!

saturday i cleaned house, went grocery shopping, and was pleasantly surprised to get a call from gerren saying he was headed home now (3 hours early) and would have sunday off too :)  sunday was spent on the couch watching "weeds" until i had to go to a baby shower.  i didn't get out of my PJs until 1:30 :)

ICE STORM mixed with snow here today, up to a foot of snow.  we already have 1000 people in town without power, trees down everywhere, the snow/ice is SO heavy that i dont sink when i step on it.  it is just thick ice falling from the sky.  made for a late morning into work.

  • Wow, sounds like everyone had good weekends.

Our weekend went by too fast of course.  We went to watch Take Me Home Tonight and it was okay.  We then went shopping for snow pants and it totally discouraged me because none of them fit, sigh.  Need to get my a$$ to the gym after work today.

This will be a short week for me since we're heading to South Lake Tahoe on Thursday.  I'm so looking forward to getting away for a few days.

Jen- yay for having Don on weekends.

jedaniel- so jealous that you have a new mattress set.  I told Richard this year we need to get a new mattress set, since ours sucks!

  • Hola chicas!  Congrats on making it through the weekend! and congrats on the mattresses, doggies, husbands staying home, weight loss etc etc.

Boo to the sensitive cats, car accidents and assorted crappy ***.

My weekend was fabulous.  Finally took delivery of my  Range Rover.  I decided to call her Romilda - it means Glorious Battle Maid.

On saturday we did the Philly Beer Fest. I was designated driver.  We somehow ended up in Atlantic City at the end of the night though.

This is what I'm proudest of all weekend.  I was dressed for beerfest - sweater and skinny jeans, but no where dressed for dancing at the Harrah's Pool.   Chris offered to buy me a new outfit at Robert Cavalli and I almost went for it. ALMOST.  I couldn't justify spending $500 on a dress for one spontaneous night for dancing.  That was what i wanted to spend on a wedding dress!

Anyways, I somehow managed to convert my sweater into this sexy one sleeved top with a sash.  Cause I'm talented like that!  I must have done a good job cause I got a lot of comments. hee hee.   I'm so proud of me.   I had such a great time dancing too.  yay!

    Fourth Anniversary

Ugh, Monday.  At least we had a nice weekend!

Went to San Jose to see a Sharks game, and stayed overnight with our friends who live there.  It was the wife's first hockey game, so we sat in the middle of the foursome and I explained the game to her.  Much less condescending than one of the dudes trying to explain.  Stick out tongue

We randomly pulled off the road on our way there to grab some lunch, and there were outlets.  Score!  I only went into the Talbots because we didn't have a lot of time, and that's one they don't have near me.  I got 3 sweaters (1 that is the nicest, softest cashmere) and 1 silk top for $65.  Score!  The cashmere sweater alone was originally $150.

  • Congrats Jessie and Shauni on weight loss!

JeDaniel - we bought our old washer and dryer at the scratch and dent place. I didn't see a scratch or a dent, and it was $200 less than it would've been at Sears. Sold! I love getting money off for stupid inconsequential crap.

Alicia - Fashionista. The End. Are you in love with Romilda?

I have an awful headache and I have done very little work today.

I have errands to run tonight but might want to push them off until tomorrow? Decisions decisions.
