Friday I wasn't feeling good. I had my first internal and she said she wanted to induce me this coming week and I got pretty upset because the week before I had expressed that I don't want to be induced unless absolutely necessary. Therefore I was sick to my stomach and didn't sleep at all.

Why do they want to induce you? Just curious..

Anyway, this past weekend was not too memorable except for Saturday night. My parents watched Nate and Ken and I got dressed up and went on a date. It was heavenly even if I couldn't wait to hug and kiss Nate when I got home.

She said he's big. At my 35 wk growth ultrasound he was *supposedly* 6 lbs 7 oz so she thinks he's about 7-8 lbs now and if I wait he's gonna get too big. I feel like he's not a mutant 15+ lb baby and 1 more week isn't going to make a giant difference. I'm definitely not opposed to drugs by any means and plan to get an epi but I just really really don't want to be induced, be in labor for days, only to result in a c-section. I'd honestly rather just schedule a c-section and be done with it if they truly think he's so gigantic KWIM?
Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

  • Hey girl if it makes you feel any better a lot of these US weight predictions are off.  My BFF was told her baby was going to be too big if she went 40 weeks AKA 10 lb baby girl and she was a tiny girl like yourself. Baby girl ended up being a very average 7 lbs 3oz.  My Nate was "too small" according to US which made my OB a little worried.  He also surpassed US  results and was 6lbs 4 oz instead of the 5lbs 9 oz which was estimated.  I completely agree that 1 week isn't going to change things.  I will keep my fingers crossed that they will allow you to wait a week with no induction.  Smile

  • Yea I know what you mean. Even if its right, he'll probably be around 8.5 pound or so based on the curve of the u/s. I knew he wouldn't be tiny. I was over 8 lbs and Kev was almost 8. I'm 5'9" and Kev is 6' We aren't small people lol. Thanks for the encouragement. When I first told my friends and family they were just excited for him to come so soon, they didn't seem to care that I was nervous about it lol.
