Re: unpopular opinion thursday?
I completely judge people who get on the cooking board and say their husbands or kids hate vegetables, the only one they do eat is corn. Please help with recipes.
Really? You're a grown up and you don't eat any vegetables? And now you're teaching your child that it's okay.
Also, I'm SUPER pissed at Whole Foods for stopping the Sunday Farmer's Market, on a semi-related note.
XH didn't like ANY vegetables, at all. His mom would make him pizza all the time. He was a bear to cook for, it was awful. One big thing that's on my list for a SO is NO PICKY EATERS!
I dont know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I took Salty to daycare today even though Im off. I feel like one of those uppity mothers that always takes her kid to daycare even though all she's doing is getting her nails done. I know its not the same. He'll be a whackadoo if he doesn't get his play on today. He knows when I dont take him even though its only one day week, but I still feel guilty about it.
Not sure if this counts, but some lady just about ran Jeffery and me over in the parking lot at JoAnn's yesterday, and I let her have it. She was completely paying attention to what she was doing and just didn't want to wait for us to pass since Jeffery was walking with me, and she cut so close I literally could've touched her minivan as she pulled in, if I had let go of Jeffery's hand.
I'm kinda ashamed now because part of my lashing out at her included references to her being overweight and lazy, and I'm not normally like that. I become a totally different person when my kids are in danger.
On another note, I spanked Jeffery's bottom yesterday when he ran away from me in the parking lot. An older lady scolded me for "hitting" him (literally just swatted his diaper and jeans-covered bottom), and I told her that when she was ready to jump in front of my child when a car pulls out into him because they can't see him, THEN she can say something about my parenting skills.
I only ever spank him when he's done something dangerous, and I hate when people assume they know how to handle your kid better than you. Excuse me for trying to keep my kid safe and not eventually a juvenile delinquent!
Can you tell we're working on walking with Mom while running errands?

Why not just take him for a walk or to the park? I can't even begin to think of how I would justify that expense.
That annoys me. We were at the zoo on Sunday and B was in the little crawl space where the penguins are watching them swim and this older lady came by in her electric scooter, it scared him and he stood up fast and turned around to run to DH (who was sitting right behind on the little railing thing) and he hit his head on the corner of the tank, so he started screaming because now he's scared and hurt. I was sitting on the benches on the other side of the rail and went to him and he ran to me instead of DH and the lady says in a very loud snotty tone "his mother needs to keep a closer eye on him". Um, no, his father was 2 feet from him and maybe you shouldn't try to drive your scooter down a ramp FULL of little kids.
Whoa, ditto. We had to cut Barney's once a week doggie daycare when we got Norm because we couldn't justify spending $100/mo for one dog or $200/mo for two dogs. Maybe Pensacola has less expensive doggie daycare.
It's only $12 once a week, really NBD in my budget. Since he used to live with 2 or more dogs at a time, he really starts to get grumpy when he cant interact with other dogs. The dog park is fun for him, but its nothing like a full day of playing with other dogs. He's been going for over a month now and he loves the owner and he has this terrier looking dog that's his new buddy. Its totally worth it for me. He's truly a dog's dog and I have to suffer when he's alone for a while.
Way less expensive! That's pretty much double what I pay.
Taylor Lautner looks like a little boy.
The Twilight movies suck asses.
haha! This is me!
not unpopular. even when i raved about twilight, still thought twilight was crap. new moon was better, eclipse was crap.
But you don't judge all-the-time smokers?
And
for that woman.
I don't like competition reality shows.
Blasphemy.
I definitely judge all the time smokers.
I think "I smoke when I drink" people are posers. And maybe even more dumb than regular smokers because they know it's bad enough to stay away from 99% of the time, but 1% of the time they think they're cool or whatever it is that possesses them to smoke.
I only like the competition ones. There's only a few noncompeting ones that I can stand.
Seriously. I'll be happy when American Idol is done. Over it.
I judge you! lol
It makes me sad you stooped to that level on instinct. I don't really think there's any excuse for that type of insult, children or not.
This post is hilarious to me. Before getting pregnant I would only smoke when I drank because it was the only habit of smoking that was hard for me to give up. Sure I knew it was bad but going from smoking a pack a day to a pack a month is better IMO. To each their own.
A child's safety doesn't give ANYONE an excuse to be an ***. You can defend & protect without being rude/offensive/hateful.
Way to teach your kids values.
Totally agree! That was my first thought too. Sorry, Ash. lol
Here's a good one.
Cats suck. They're cold and withholding and make horrible, unaffectionate pets.
It's alright. Unpopular opinion means most people shouldn't agree with me, technically! I'm very sensitive to smoking issues.
haha, now we're getting more into unpopular opinions!
I know, which is why I felt awful about it later. I try to always remind myself that there are various reasons for being overweight, and that you don't know that person and their situation. I just let her impatience and recklessness cause me to "go for the jugular" so to speak. I had a "you're a bad person" moment, and it makes me sad.

I really didn't mean to start a pile on and I'm glad you feel this way after the fact. I read that and it made me sick to my stomach to think of someone saying that to me (regardless of my driving). I literally got choked up thinking about it and how that woman must have felt.
Anyway, I'm glad your kid is okay.
