heard bad news last night (NBR)
i found out last night that in april i will be excessed along with my dh. he has a shot of getting his job back because they are bringing in a class that he offered to teach. we are both special education teachers and with no money coming from the state.. the district cut 30% of their special education staff. sad part is dh and i weren't even at the bottom of the list. im a little nervous and upset but bittersweet that my ride is over at the school i taught at for years. the plan was that if i was just excessed i would stay at home for the year and find a job in september. but now that both of us are excessed we are not sure what we are going to do please cross your fingers for my dh. we are hoping that the class he offered to teach is approved by the board so he can teach it september.

Aw I'm really sorry! I hope DH gets that new position. Are either of you certified in NJ? I can let you know if I hear of any openings (DH, my brother, BIL and SIL are all teachers in NJ).

This is my worst fear. DH and I are both teachers in NYC where the mayor keeps threatening to cut jobs. My heart literally hurts for you 2 right now. I can't imagine how we would handle this, especially if I were PG. My fingers are crossed for you guys!

You should still get paid through contract (end of August). Then unemployment kicks in.

Sucks. Your school isn't September to August? How do you get paid for the summers then?
G wanted to stay home in the fall with baby according to your blog, so maybe its a blessing. You'll still get unemployment which is more the disability for maternity:)
