Happy St. Patrick's Day...Randoms
WOOO WHOO. Who's Irish today?
Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day...Randoms
Actually, I found out about six months ago that I am Irish. I had always been under the impression (based on what my mom told me), that my maternal grandmother's family was all Dutch. But in reading a family history, I found a whole lot of mentions of Irish ancestors. Craziness!
And yesterday, I got my hair color corrected and now it's slightly reddish (like I wanted). Just in time for St. Patrick's Day.
Yay for corrected hair
I'll be Irish today. I'm excited to have some Irish food for dinner. And some Irish beer.
Nope I am German, Scottish, English, and Polish
I'm starting to get twinges of slight baby fever. How do I make it stop?
The president of my company apparently announced during a company wide meeting (that I missed) that if we reach our sales goal for the month of March we all get an extra 4 hours of PTO. We are 6% above plan right now. Yay.
January and February we exceeded our sales goals and the company provided us with a free lunch (pizza and taco bar.)
I hope things continue. It's nice getting these mini-perks.
Nice! Extra PTO time is a nice reward.
I like mini perks at work. My main job, the boss allows me to drink during lunch. Of course he is also my husband and wants a drink as well.
I should also mention that with my red hair, that I'm wearing my official SPD shirt that says "Kiss me, I'm not Irish"
My neighbor's little girl made a poo-poo Picasso in one of her little pop up play houses made of nylon, and got some on the carpet too. While in the bathtub, the little girl decided she wanted to lick some of the water she was bathing in. Awesome.
Did that help?
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I'm off to my Mama's - my Aunt, Uncle and cousin come up for St. Pat's lunch every year. I made Irish Soda Bread and I hope it tastes good. I've also got corned beef in the slow cooker which I will be using for Reubens tonight (Andy's favorite sandwich).
Hope everyone has a great day!
I saw that post on FB - the word "free" usually jumps out to me, hehe - but what the heck is a granita?
I can probably Google it, but I'm lazy.
Sorry you're having a cruddy day!
St. Patty's Day just isn't the same this year. If you go out drinking tonight, toast one to Ozzie!
I will now, LOL.

My Grandpa opened his barber shop 64 years ago today. It is still operating under the same name even though he passed away long ago. I remember going in for my haircuts and then he would give me a penny for the gumball machine.I loved it there!
He used to have all his bowling trophies in the window. One day he let all us kids (I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters) pick out a trophy to take home. I took the biggest one. My mom started to cry but i had no idea what was going on. Shortly there after he passed away. It took me awhile to put the events together. It still gets me misty eyed.
Yes, that helps.
Thank goodness T doens't do that (yet!).
Yeah, this little girl is 2 y/o. Haha.
Cheers to Ozzie! :-)
And that was a sweet story, Hoek. Very cool that your g-pa's business is still up and running too!
Ditto both. Great memories on this day!
Oh my goodness, between this and Ozzie's photo, this post just about did me in. Such great, happy memories being shared.
My dad and brother still go there. I think I will take Henry in for his first little snip. The barber shop is next door to my other grandpa's auto body repair shop, which my dad and his brothers are running. My mom and dad met because she used to walk by the body shop all the time while my dad was working.
The joys of being pregnant.
I definitely learned during my first pregnancy that I won't be as nice to people (except H, obvs) during subsequent pregnancies when it comes to being a DD. People took advantage.
Awww..that made me tear up. My grandpa used to own a general store up in the UP. We would go there all the time when we went to visit them.
