It's days like today I wish I was a SAHM.

I have lots of days like that.  Kinda sucks being the bread winner and insurance carrier, since it's not even an option.

I hadn't heard about the car seat story. So sad.

Mike read me the story about the baby suffocating and it made me cry.   It is gut wrenching to me.  Oh the guilt the parents must feel. What an utterly heart breaking story all around.

Do you have kids of your own? I have two step daughters and this just gut wrenches me.

I have a little boy - he is almost 14 months!

Haha! This was me - Couscous with meatballs.  I am painfully full now. I skipped the gym this morning because of the roads - seriously, it had NOTHING to do with my lazinessStick out tongue At least I should still be at my strength training class tonight.  All hope is not lost.

  • I was busy pre lunch and I just finished stuffing my faces.  Some leftovers and a salad.  And after reading about cupcakes, now I want one. :-P

I had a crazy cake craving yesterday.  I'm normally not a cake person, but chocolate cake sounded really good, so I text Nick and asked him to stop by Marge's on his way home to pick me up a chocolate cupcake.  Not only did he pick me up one cupcake, he picked up TWO cupcakes for me, both chocolate peanut butter.  Big Smile  I ate one after dinner yesterday, and I'm saving the other for tonight. YUM!

I had cake cravings in my second trimester too.  It was weird b/c I was never a cake person either.  I also craved Dr. Pepper - something I'd never been a regular consumer of as well.  They both kind of stuck after the pregnancy too.  Doh!

I'm not a big cake person but I wanted cupcakes all the time with Allison. Our chef had boxes of cake mix or frosting in the dry pantry and it had pictures of really pretty cupcakes on it. I wanted pretty cupcakes every time I walked back to the kitchen.

I want to make curtains for my kitchen.  I wanted somethign different that would go with most paint colors, since I havent' decided what color to paint the room.  I found some white fabric with different colors of frosted cupcakes all over it.  It's super cute but I went against it, because I thought that it would make me want to eat cupcakes when I went into the room.

  • Yay.  Welcome back everyone.

    Stick out tongue

I worked through my lunch today since I was so late coming in.  It was lonely here...haha.

  • I've been really stressed/sad the last few days, so I drank - a lot, and took some Xanax.  I got scared so I went to the ER - thinking they would pump my stomach.  I passed out, but I'm assuming they gave me a banana bag because I have no hangover - at all.

I find it ironic - i was highly suicidal, but my friend told them it was stress - so they didnt make me talk to the social worker.

2 years ago I went due to an anxiety attack - total stress, and they put me on a 2 day psych hold.

I'm in therapy - I tried going off my meds, which I think made me less reslillant to some issues.

I'm going back on my meds tonight and I have an appointment with my therapist tonight as well.

My therapist's day job is seeing people on holds at the ER, so I'm kind of glad to - I was afraid to go, because I didn't want to get stuck in the state hospital (I don't have insurance right now).

I'm somewhat glad they let me go when they did.  My regular Dr. does rounds at that hopsital, and I'd hate to have to see him in that state.

You say soda, not pop? Are you from Michigan? XN and I have this argument all the time (him not being from the midwest).

Hmm...I never really thought of it.  I say both I guess.  Maybe because I drink soda water sometimes, it comes out as soda for everthing else?  And yes, I'm from Michigan.

  • My thoughts are with you Laura! I wish you clarity and strength as you go through these tough times. Be sure to surround yourself with those that care about you.

Hang in there. Mental health sucks at times. Join the club. Be very careful of that xanax though. My 22 year old cousin died of a drug overdose of that 2 weeks before our wedding.

Another story of ignoring the facts and safety recommendations.

A six year old boy was ejected from a car and killed in an accident near White Hall area. He wasn't buckled in. He should have been in a booster seat. His one month old brother was ejected from the car too and has head injuries. My guess the car seat wasn't properly restrained.

    Crying

    Horrible.  Crying

Ugh, H said he saw this accident yesterday coming home from work.

  • The Travel board is getting snarky and I don't like it.  They haven't snarked at me or anything, I just don't like the shift in tone that I'm seeing.

WTH do they snark about?  That is such BS.  Ugh, stupid Nesties.  I used to love that board (when I had money to travel...haha).

About people asking "dumb" and often repeated questions.  As if it the questioner's fault that the search function doesn't work.

Oh boy.  I'm sorry to hear that.  I always was so impressed with how helpful and polite those ladies were.  I loved that board as a resource for trip planning.

Yeah, me too.  I'm hoping it's just a phase and will go back to "normal" soon.  I think some ML people infiltrated and began causing the issues.

I have noticed that historically, the location that you post about dictates the level of snarkiness in replies.  Europe posts seem to generate more snobby responses (IMO), than, for instance, a post about Chicago.

They were really helpful, though, when I posted about Savannah last month.
