What do you do for work? What are your career goals? I used to manage a retail store since the job kind of fell in my lap after college and I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Currently I'm a SAHM.

I actually wanted to elope, but DH wanted the big wedding and I didn't want to take that from him.Hi Ladies, I'm in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend who lives in Boston. So, I spend a good amount of time in Boston and am looking to move down there there summer hopefully, once I find a job.
How long have you been married/committed to your SO? I have been with my SO for about 3 months now. We first met 11 years ago while in college and dated for a bit back then. Then last year we reconnected and started talking again and have gotten back together.
What do you do for work? What are your career goals? I currently work in health care. Career goals are to take the next step, in either quality improvement or research.
Do you rent or own? Any plans to buy/move? Rent. Probably won't buy for a few years.

What do you do for work? What are your career goals? I'm in business development/finance. As I said in one of the posts a few days ago, I've never really figured out what I want to be when I grow up and at this point I'm just happy to have a job that lets me live the life I want outside of work.

I've been working for the state since I was in college (yeah, I'm a hack). I realized yesterday that it will be 9 years on June 12th. I can't believe it! I work in HR and love it, but my dream is to be a SAHM.

My FI owns his own house, and we're in the process of adding my name to it. We'll probably stay there until we have our first baby and then move to somewhere with a better school system.

Share one thing about yourself that you've never posted on this board before. I never get sick but I'm kind of a walking disaster. Last year I slipped on an icy sidewalk and broke my leg in 3 places. I've also fallen at other points in my life that resulted in having a kidney removed and splitting my chin open/knocking teeth out.How long have you been married/committed to your SO? What do you do for work? What are your career goals? I'm a medical social worker... and I think that's my goal? Although I don't know what my future holds... I doubt I'll stay in this role forever. Maybe geriatric social work next...

I like to spend money. A lot.How long have you been married/committed to your SO? Next Friday is our 6 month anniversary. We've been dating 4 1/2 years.
What do you do for work? What are your career goals? I work for a public policy school directing professional development programs - primarily govt/non-profit leaders, but some corporate types mixed in, too. I don't have any career goals, other than knowing I can't do this much longer. I fell into after working in development for too long, so now I'm trying to figure out what my next move should be.
Do you rent or own? Any plans to buy/move? Rent. We do hope to buy something in the next 18 months.
Any children? TTC? Future plans? No kids yet. I'll be 36 this year, so our window of opportunity is getting smaller and smaller. We're definitely not having more than 1 kid, though, and will probably start TTC next year.

It's a funny story. DH and I were on our way home from a Red Sox game and on the green line (which is hell on wheels) so he was hugging me to hold me up and I kept poking him in the side and saying "who's my baby" only I said it so many times in a row that it morphed into "whoishaba" so now we call each other our "ishaba" Also we have a weird connection with the number 11. It's both our favorite numbers and our birthdays are 11 days apart.We also started dating "officially" on the 11th of the month.

Share one thing about yourself that you've never posted on this board before. I was a professional ballet dancer from the time I was 14 until 21 and part time until pretty much two years ago when I became pregnant. Mainly in the New England area. I got to work with some of the greats from the New York City Ballet, the Paris Opera Ballet and Boston Ballet. I loved performing and had the opportunity to be the soloist and principal dancer often. It was cool to wear the tutus and pointe shoes!

That's awesome! I interned with Boston Ballet in college, in their marketing/pr department, and I loved it. I loved watching the dancers most of all - I took ballet for 5 years, but I pretty much sucked, so I am always in awe of anyone who is able to dance professionally!

What do you do for work? What are your career goals? I am a legal assistant. Not the career I want to be in but DH is in grad school so it pays the bills. Thinking of Occupational Therapy school at the moment, but I?m a little indecisive. And I would love to be able to be a SAHM for a little while. J
Do you rent or own? Any plans to buy/move? We rent. We won?t buy until DH gets a job after school so we know where we will be.

Pets? Type, name, age? I have 2 mini dachshunds. One, we raised and she is our love muffin. The other my parents raised and we brought up to MA when we moved so our dog wouldn?t be alone (she hates it). We are learning to love my mom?s dog, but she was never socialized with pets outside of my parents? house, so she is terrified of them and we live in an apartment with about 100 other dogs. She barks, snips at, and otherwise freaks out when she sees or hears another animal. It has been a huge struggle but she is great when it?s just the four of us. They are from the same litter, so both 2 ? years old.
What are your hobbies? I love reading, organizing, decorating, traveling (or rather dreaming of traveling since I?ve never been anywhere outside the US), spending time with family, dancing (modern/jazz and tap are favorites), crafting.

*And MapleBean- I danced for 16 years, and started out as a dance major in college. I did the Boston Ballet Summer Program when I was 13 and it was the best summer!
How long have you been married/committed to your SO? We've been together almost 8 years, were engaged for 4 years, and got married in December (finally)
What do you do for work? What are your career goals? I currently do Accounting stuff, pretty boring. Currently wanting something else, maybe something with a creative aspect to it....unless I end up a SAHM first.
Do you rent or own? Any plans to buy/move? We rent, just got a new townhouse in Grafton...very excited about it! Probably won't buy for a couple of years, I'm still undecided on if I can live in the North the rest of my life (I am a FL girl).

What do you do for work? What are your career goals? I am a receptionst and I do a little bit of sales support. I'm not sure what my goals are. I don't want to be a receptionist forever but I really like the company I work for. Its really small so not a lot of room for growth. Sometimes I think I'd like to be a teacher or maybe some career with animals or maybe get my real estate license... who knows.

How funny that there are so many connections to Boston Ballet on this board! I've heard that working on the office side of the company is really difficult, especially during the director changes from 2000-2005.
Ead- you should totally get back into class! I'm not a graceful swan anymore (especially while dropping this baby weight!), but dancing is so fun! I'm always the "old lady" in the back of the class these days. I'll breakout my flexibility tricks once in a while, but the young dancers have me beat!

How long have you been married/committed to your SO? Married almost 2 years. Together 4 1/2.
What do you do for work? What are your career goals? Pastry Chef. Right now I am in charge, so not much upward movement at my current location. I really want to get into doing cake out of my house, especially when we start a family.

Share one thing about yourself that you've never posted on this board before. I would really like to meet some of you in person, but am kind of shy to do a group thing.I was there in 2000-2001. I was in the dept that oversaw the summer dance program tryouts and admissions.
It was too bad she was so crazy (she brought SO much personal drama to work I could not even deal with it) because I found the work, dancing, and program quite fascinating.
I, too, danced, but not professionally. Just from tumbling at 2 y/o until I was 16.
