Legal ladies, are any of you still around? I have a minor question.
I am doing some networking back in WI b/c hubby and I are planning on moving back after I take the bar. I am going back this weekend and am meeting an associate and partner for lunch on Friday. I initiated the lunch, and they suggested a local tavern/grille.
This is the first time I am meeting them in person. We did an informational interview over the phone about 2 months ago. It lasted over an hour. They both seem really laid back but still professional. Any advice/information I read on informational interviews says you are supposed to wear a suit, but I don't want to be overly dressed (but I definitely don't want to be under dressed either).
And at this point, is it still an informational interview? It seems to be networking/catching up. All this professional stuff can be hard to steer when you are first starting out!
Anyways, what the heck do I wear?
Re: legal ladies (or anyone else)-what to wear?
I agree with the suit with a blouse or sweater unless you know they don't wear suits on a regular basis. I'd probably go into the meeting with the mindset of networking/catching up but have some follow up informational interview questions ready. If you haven't done so already, you could let them know you're interested in moving back to the area and ask if they know of any other attorneys you can talk to or associations that they would recommend you join.
(P.S. I hope you know you don't have to wear a suit when we get lunch.)
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
