I saw Oberon in stores yesterday, and I wanted to cry. No Oberon for me this summer
Re: Mid-week Randoms
This morning we made the official discovery that T is indeed allergic to penicillin.
It's truly easy breasy being a mom.
A lot of docs are OK-ing 1/2 glass here and there in the 2nd/3rd trimesters. I was far from that when I was pregnant, but did have half a glass of sparkling wine on NYE and three other sips of wine throughout my pregnancy. Many women I know indulge a lot more than that. Of course if a little taste would make you want a full keg, then steer clear.
There will always be another Oberon-laden summer.

I'm tired. I wish I had more energy. But at work, especially, I have no energy and subsequently no motivation. Or maybe the no motivation causes no energy? I don't know. I need a change.
Ack. My sis and DH are allergic as well. Hope the discovery wasn't too painful for either party...

Did he had a bad reaction? I'm told that my husband is allergic to penicillin.
By the way, maybe you've mentioned this before, but did you determine that he's officially allergic to your dogs?
Poor T. Hope he feels better soon. And you too!
Add an orange to an O'Doul's? ;-)
I actually heard DnW has a good deal on Oberon and thought I might pick some up when I'm running errands this evening. I did not make it out for Oberon Day this year so I'm due.
The most annoying part of the situation is that one of the doctors at the practice saw T back in January for a rash, and said it could have been caused by one of 4 or 5 different things, penicillin included. He told me he would make a note on his chart and they would steer clear of prescribing that in the future.
H took T in on Monday, and apparently nobody questioned what was being prescribed. When I picked up the script from the pharmacy, I asked if it was a form of penicillin. They said yes.
After discussing it with the pharmacist, we decided to try it and if he broke out in a hive-like rash, then at least we knew what was causing it this time. She also had me buy Benadryl and looked up the correct dosage for his age/weight, just in case.
So at least now we know for sure. And I only gave him 1 dose of the penicillin. But it's really annoying that the doctor said they would steer clear of penicillin medications, but yet his first ear infection since and walla, penicillin is prescribed.
He broke out in a bright red hive-like rash. Thankfully nothing more serious.
And yes, it was determined that he is allergic to dogs and dustmites. The allergist said he is probably allergic to a lot more things, but they wouldn't test him for anything else until he gets older. They don't like testing under 2.
I know. I drank half a glass of wine last week. I think I'll miss the ritual of sitting on the deck after work on a Friday evening kicking back a few beers with the H. I'm not the type to get drunk (I hate the feeling), so non-pg I'm a two drink max person anyway, but..I don't know. I just miss a good tall, cold beer at the end of a long week. It's delicious. O'Douls just isn't the same. LOL. I'll have to come up with a good N/A summer beverage.
Poor little guy. Hope you get everything straightened out with him soon.
Yes! DnW has great prices on beer and wine. I wish we had one closer to us. All the DnW's have now become Family Fares.
I think I had more than my fair share of "Shirley Temples" when I was pg.
I'll have to try that. I was also thinking of a virgin Mojito for the summer.
I became a fan of strawberry lemonade, lemonade slushy type drinks when I went out to eat when pg. Also that was because i wasn't drinking soda - or at least in front of Brian.
Last night I walked in the bedroom and there was a present on my pillow. Brian made 'computer made" wrapping paper to wrap the present. He wrote out I love you MB, You are a great mom, and sexy lady and printed it all over the paper and wrote out a nice card that he doesn't tell me enough how much he loves me and appreciates me.
He gave me season four of Mad Men. Yay!!! I'm so excited.
That is so sweet!
I need the motivation fairy to stop by here. I haven't done hardly anything work related this morning
Home run for Brian!! What a lovely gesture.
That is super sweet!!
Aww
You and me BOTH, K. I could have written this post word for word. I am so tired of feeling lethargic and uninspired.
2 reasons I'm a bit jealous of you right now: super sweet thoughtful husband and you have Mad Med season 4.
gvsu - Kudos to your husband for his random act of sweetness.
Perhaps the warm weather and sunshine will help renew everyone's energy. I haven't really been lacking in energy, but I was down in the dumps the past two days. Last night I just wanted to come home and eat my feelings. I went to the dog park, thinking that would cheer me up and then we had a not so fun interaction there. I feel a lot better today, but yesterday was for poops.
Can't argue with you there.
Glad you are feeling better today!
Hope there are positive changes for you soon.
