10 things you might not know about me
Re: 10 things you might not know about me
OMG some of these are so freaking funny. Alicia, yours about breaking up the fight had me laughing out loud literally. The visuals of that are hilarious! You certainly have a way of making me feel like I was there!
1) I can juggle and used to be pretty good at it. I even had a set of juggling pins in high school.
2) I was engaged another time before DH. Thank God that didn't work out.
3) I hate touching butter (and shortening too). It creeps me out. DH and DD make fun of me. I've gotten a tiny bit better about it this past year though, for the sake of making the crumb topping on Lesa's awesome banana muffins!!!
4) I loved being the young mom when DD was in elementary school. With DS and DD2 though, I am going to be the old mom and I do not like that. Boo!
5) I don't really mind spiders all that much, unless they are in my bedroom. It makes me nervous going to sleep when I know there is a spider somewhere that could fall on me in the middle of the night. **shiver**
6) This may sound ridiculous, but I feel like some of my very good friends are online ones that I have never met in person. They are on my miscarriage support board. I share so much with those ladies (some things that I don't even tell my real BFFs), and I seriously cannot even imagine life without them. I hope they they are good friends for a very long time.
7) I have known my BFF (in real life) since we were 2 years old, so 35 years now! We met at dance class, and it was pure coincidence that my parents bought a house directly behind them when I was 5.
8) I have been pregnant 6 times; gave birth to 3 kids; and had 3 miscarriages.
9) I wish that I was more stylish with my clothes, but I have no idea how to be.
10) I struggled thinking of 10 things to share, hence why this is my tenth!
1. My mom & I have the same birthday. I also have an aunt & uncle (married to eachother) with the same birthday. 2 of my mom's siblings (1 brother, 1 sister) have the same birthday too & the sister had her daughter on her birthday as well. Very weird.
2. I took DH's virginity @ the ripe old age of 26. Keep in mind though he's Indian & the very fact he was having premarital relations made him a hero to many of his friends; lol.
3. I was in Ghana when 9/11 happened. I didn't find out about it until the next day as I was heading back to the university from a small town visiting a priest I knew from the U.S. The tro-tro (mini-bus) drivers told me "America has blown up"; I just thought he was nuts.
4. I was an extra in "Amistad". I used to do Revolutionary War re-enactments & they needed people in period costume to stand in the back of the court for the 1 scene I was in.
5. I went to the national debate tournament 3 years in high school; I was even an opinionated loudmouth back then.
6. I have a small teflon patch on my heart as I was born with ASD (atrial septal defect) & that's how they fixed it. You can't see the scar as it's under my breast.
7. Muammar Ghaddafi bought a round of drinks @ a pub (the only Irish pub in Ghana!) when I was there. He was in Accra (the capital) for an African Union summit @ the time.
8. I've been a vegetarian since age 14 but am married to a beef eating Hindu.
9. I love going to the beach but have an intense fear of the ocean even though I'm a good swimmer (was on the swim team in high school for a year). I don't really know why though; I know the likelyhood of me drowning or being eaten by a shark is slim to none. I usually just stick my feet in.
10. I've had 2 root canals on 2 separate molars. While most humans have 2-3 roots in a molar, I have 5. Yes, I'm a freak of nature. One of them I had done @ a dental school since I had no dental insurance @ the time; I had the whole school looking in my mouth.
Hmmmm....
1. My feet are really small...I wear a size 5, maybe a size 5 1/2 if I'm lucky.
2. My right ear lobe is slightly misformed since birth
3. I like shrimp but only warm in a dish....I cannot eat shrimp cocktail. It gives me the willies because it's all slimy (to me at least).
4. I went to Catholic school until I went to college
5. I knew I was going to marry DH within a couple months of dating him. I was 17 at the time, he was 19.
6. DH and I met through a former friend of mine who is a distant cousin of his...well, actually I should say I met my only other boyfriend through this friend first who I dated for a few months. While I was dating him I met DH who was also a 3rd cousin of his but they were close and hung out a lot at the time. I started to fall for DH when I was still dating the other guy - but obviously never acted on it. It took DH and I a few months after my breakup with his cousin to start dating ourselves.
7. My first job was bussing tables at a local restaurant.
8. I was the 5th generation of my family to get married in my church. The 1st and 2nd generations actually got married in a different physical building which had been located across the street (same parish though that I got married in - basically)...but that's close enough. Not many people can claim that!
9. I am a junkie for Christmas ornaments. I love a tree that is super full of ornaments and most of my ornaments have meaning - some were handmade by my grandmother who passed away when I was 7 1/2 (my mother gave me some of the ones she had so I could have some on my tree as well). Other ornaments I have have been given to me by family or friends or ones that we have picked up over the years that have significance - vacations we've been on, stages in our lives (engagement, marriage, pregnancy, etc.).
10. I studied for my MBA immediately after graduating with my undergrad degree. I graduated on a Saturday and literally started class that coming Monday night. I finished the accelerated program for my MBA at Bryant (meaning I had a few less classes to take based on some criteria I'd met) in exactly a year by going full time for 3 semesters (summer, fall & spring) while working about 25 hours a week. It was hell on wheels BUT I was so relieved to have it all said and done within a year that it was worth it.
Looks fun - let me try.
1) I don't like to drink and very rarily do (It's been well over 2 years since I've had a drink) and I love using bfing as an excuse not to b/c people criticize me for this (which really annoys me...). Drinking isn't fun to me at all since my parents are alcholics. I don't even like to be around people when they are drinking and I don't see anything fun or positive about it.
2) I don't understand why people smoke or use cigarettes - I wish that they would be banned once and for all.
3) My friends joke that I'm a stalker magnet. I've been stalked by various people several times and one person even got arrested and went to jail for it because it was so bad. Thankfully its been a while since I've had one (at least as far as I know)
4) I have big time trouble asking for help with even stupid, simple things. I feel like I'm inconviencing other people so for me it's easier to just suck it up and not ask for help. That's why I let DH get away with doing so little around the house.
5) I played every position in basketball throughout the years I played. I started as center and as other people caught up in height to me and I stopped growing, I ended up as a point guard/shooting guard. I even got a scholarship from it and really wish I still had time to play. I'd love to coach some day.
6) I used to high jump and pole vault in high school. I placed 3rd in the state of RI in 1998 for high jumping.
7) I'm super anal retentive about credit card debt and have NEVER paid credit card interest. I either pay it off each month or use interest free cards. Important to note - we charge everything to our credit cards each month and then pay them off - I save up my rewards and Christmas shop with them. I think we had over $500 in rewards last year.
8) I don't have a best friend anymore and that really bothers me. Being a military brat and moving around a lot made it difficult when I was younger and the last one I had moved to Texas so it's hard to keep us as best friends. I also don't have any 'life long friends' which also really bothers me. I'm super jealous of people that do.
9) I have a half sister that I haven't seen since I was 3 - according to my mom she was psycho and she gave up custody of her to the state (Oklahoma) after she threatened to kill my aunt. She's 5 years older than me I think. Sometimes I wonder if she was really messed up or if it's my mom's over exaggeration of the situation...
10) I really really really need a girls day/night but I don't really want to hang out with any of my friends right now for various reasons. Would it be weird to have a girls day by myself?!
Ha, I don't have any friends here and am online now while the girls are napping simultaneously reading The Nest and looking at spas or something fun to do solo. I've never had a babysitter and the last time my husband kept the girls (for me to go to Target) was probably a year ago. i need a break. I say do it
It's not weird, it.is.awesome. Of course, I am fully capable of entertaining myself, apparently, some people just feel awkward.
I too was on a local tv station talent show when I was 8. It was called Kids Break! Of course they put me on first and I got so nervous I cried, so they put me on last!
I was on the Bozo the clown show!!
I wanna play
1) I figure skated for 18 years starting at the age of 4
2) I have a phobia of birds....I get panic attacks when they get close
3) my right leg is shorter than my left
4) I played Indian #3 in my 1st grade play of Peter Pan. My only line was "...and Tinkerbell is dying"
5) I believed in Santa Claus until I was 13
6) I have a permanant gash in my tongue from having a palate bar when I had braces
7) I chomp my teeth at night
8) The day I met my husband he was playing a song on his computer and told me that we would dance to that song at our wedding someday....and we did, eight years later
9) I can't see passed a foot in front of my face without my glasses or contacts
10) I was in a car accident when I was younger while my dad was driving and he literally ran over a drunk black man...I completely freaked out and am now the worse back seat driver you will ever meet.
I know I'm late to this....but I'll give it a go.
1) I'm adopted. My bio parents were 16 when they had me and gave me up at birth. I was adopted by my parents when I was 3 months old.
2) I met my biological family 9 years ago. It is very rare that teens that give up a baby get married...but mine did, and had 2 daughters. So I have a 100% biological familly. One of my biological sisters looks just like me, which is freaky after you years of never looking like anyone.
3) I LOVE mob movies.
4) I have a birth mark over my left eye, which I forget about until someone asks me about it.
5) I bought another nestie's house.
6) A week after my c section in September, I had a blood clot come through my incision (which made my house look like a crime scene). After a trip to the W&I ER I had to be seen by the visiting nurses and wound care center. I was also hooked up to a wound vac for 6 weeks. I was finally declared "healed" the day after Christmas.
7) My cousin and I have the same birthday, she is also my god daughter.
8) I have not spoken to my father (adoptive) in 3 years, after he told be he wasn't coming to my wedding, because my stepmonster didn't want to go. She's a horrible woman who doesn't like having the attention off of her. My father knows he has a granddaughter, and he has not reached out and probably never will, and I am ok with that.
9) If I get soft served ice cream, I have to get chocolate jimmies on it.
10) I had my gall bladder taken out this past Valentine's Day, after going to the ER and spending 4 days in the hospital. Even after that ordeal, I think having my gall bladder out was the best thing, and wish I had done it sooner. I feel so much better and urge anyone who is having problems with their to get it out. The procedure and recovery is nothing!
Ok i'm late in the game too but lets see if I can come up with 10
1) I was born in RI but grew up in IL, I will be going back to visit for the 1st time hopefully in June. I know the second we get there I will never want to come back.
2) I couldn't stand nick before we started dating, He was friends with my ex!
3) I have wanted to be a SHAM for as long as I can remember, I always wanted my mom home when I was younger.
4) I have ocd and can tell you every toy and how many pieces my son owns. I also clean every toy 2x a week.
5) I hate that I'm still in college and should have graduated last year. Sadly life happened and I have about 1 -2 years left.
6) I played tackle in an all boys football league for 4 years, while playing softball and throwing for track.
7) I have 3 dads, my bio dad( I have nothing to do with hi) my moms husband (step dad) the man I call dad seeing he raised me all my life, and billy her boyfriend. And yes with that started my mom and step dad are still married and it drives me nuts. (which is a whole other story.)
8) I never knew what drugs or anything was until I was 18.
9) I am very shy and don't usually just talk to new people. I hate it and I'm desperately trying to change it.
10) I wanted to have my children close in age, But I didn't because I worried too much about what others said. Now I just don't care and what to have another child and continue being a at home.
This is awesome! Although Sarah I TOTALLY thought you were going to tell us you were PG with #2 for your last thing
1. I dont like doctors. I don't like going to them, I don't like seeing them, kind of ironic considering I married one. And I reallllly dont like dentists. I have not been to the dentist in about 15 years. (I have excellent clean healthy teeth, never a cavity, no worries!!!)
2. I sing. Well, I used to sing a lot and I was pretty good. I played Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors in high school and was a cantor at Church.
3. My dad used to be a priest. No joke. Left the priesthood to marry my mom.
4. I hate most of my work. I can never see the good in it, only the mistakes. It's a really bad habit.
5. I also really REALLY hate getting my photos taken. Like will avoid it at any cost and forget attempting to tag me on Facebook. Again, ironic.
6. I knew as soon as I saw Matt across the room at an event that I was going to meet him and date him. I just had to figure out the logistics.
7. We totally had that movie moment standing outside a bar in January at 2am in Connecticut. After three years, helped along by some alcohol we actually uttered the words "I have always wanted to be with someone like you." We have been together ever since.
8. I have never owned a home. We hope to change that in the next few months.
9. Both Nathaniel Hawthorne and Charles Dickens married into my family way back in the tree.
10. I have never ever ridden a horse, but I have ridden an elephant, a camel and a donkey.
1. I don't eat breakfast right when I wake up. I'd rather have a bowl of leftovers around 10:30 or 11. You will never catch me eating a bowl of cold cereal. I just don't get it
2. (this isn't about me but) my husband doesn't like "hot liquids" He drinks hot coffee but really prefers iced and doesn't really like soup.
3. Wes and I both have brown eyes but the girls have light eyes. Hazel and Blue.
4. My sister is 10 years older than me and we never got along until I went to college. We know talk on the phone at least once a day.
5. I don't talk to any of my closest friends from college. We're so different now. I used to hate this and it really upset me until a few months ago and somehow I woke up and was totally over it.
6. I think Em tells her teachers that I don't feed her breakfast! Seriously. oy. (separate post coming)
7. If I don't dye my hair I look like Bonnie Rait
8. I was a vegetarian from the age of 12 until college. Then it all changed.
9. My house is a disaster right now.
10. I have almost gotten a tattoo a million times but never could figure out what to get.
1. I met my husband 10 years ago when we both were working at Lowes. I thought he was so cute when I first saw him. We didnt talk for almost a year. Then I found out that he had a 3 year old daughter and was engaged and I backed off. Well we started talking and became bestfriends. During that time he got married and had his 2nd daughter on the way. He told his wife that he didnt want to be together anymore when she was 4 months pregnant. We started dating immediately. Yes....I am a homewrecker!
2. I want to have another child as well. I have this irrational fear that something is going tgo happen to Dominic and I will lose my only child. I was one and done until my 16 year old cousin died last year and he was an only child. The pain that his parents are going through is unimaginable. Right now we cant afford 2 in daycare so I cant even think about having another child for a few more years.
3. I seriously feel like I dont have any friends. Once I had Dominic everyone disappeared. I do have a few friends but none that are my best friends. I wish that I had someone that I could call at any hour and laugh, cry and just talk to when needed. This is one of the reasons that I am depressed.
4. I have depression and I am currently not on any meds. I need to see a doctor soon and get some. I tried to deal with it but it is not working. I am just sinking deeper and deeper.
5. I am super shy unless I know you. I always come off as being a b!tch. Once I get to know you I am super fun and great to be around.
6. There is a lot of addiction in my family. My father died when I was 9 of a herion overdose. My mother, uncle, grandmother, and grandfather are all alcoholics. 2 of my aunts were drug addicts. For that reason I dont do drugs and I dont really like drinking. Thankfully my husband doesnt like to drink.
7. I have 4 tattoos. I want at least 3 more. They are an addiction.
8. I have an irrational fear of bugs. The only 2 bugs that dont scare me are ants and flies. I am freak out, cry and shake when I see certain bugs.
9. I hate seafood. I hate the taste, the smell and the look. It makes me wanna puke.
10. I am the only person in my immediate family to graduate highschool. I went to college for a year but took a semester off and never returned. My mom dropped out of highschool her senior year because she was pregnant with me. She got her GED years later and went to college when I was in junior high and she is now a teacher.
1. I'm afraid of birds. When they fly too close to me I freak out. The exhibit with birds at the mystic aquarium gave me a panic attack and I almost passed out. It was awesome.
2. I have 3 tattoos, I can only see 1 of them and I got the 2 on my back before they were called "tramp stamps"
3. In times of great stress, I clean, like disinfect the ceiling kind of freaky clean.
4. I'm addicted to fudgesicles
5. I naturally smell like baby powder. Everyone I've ever dated has said it to me. I don't use lotion and I use unscented soap.
6. I've never flown over the ocean. But I've put my feet in both oceans. And I'm really proud of that.
7. I also have a huge family. I have 27 first cousins, we have a phone tree in case of emergencies. Amazingly, our family tree of cousins goes boy, girl boy girl straight through all 27.
8. I went to school to be an elementary school teacher, changed majors to 2nd Ed English, then 2nd Ed Math. I made it to student teach and realized I don't LIKE other peoples children. I now work in tech support.
9. I have a mastiff, he and my daughter are best friends and I'm not afraid he's going to eat her if I leave her in the room with him to go pee, even when she was an infant.
10. I've "been with" more people then my DH and I'm kindda proud of it.
I haven't been on in a while! These were fun to read. I'll play:
1. I am rather slim but I never exercise and am TERRIBLE at all sports.
2. I love staying at home with Clara: I find it interesting, fun, and fulfilling. I would be sad to have someone else take care of her. I think it is good for her and I am good at it. HOWEVER... now I feel like I have nothing to talk to my friends about except her and I know they don't find it as interesting as I do. Which makes me sad.
3. I have a terrible fear of carjacking.
4. I could eat a whole package of Oreos in one sitting. I could DEFinitely eat a whole box of Entenman's pop-ems on the way home from the grocery store. I believe in local and organic, but not always when it comes to junky desserts.
5. I don't smoke weed but I think it should be legalized.
6. I am not gay but I think same sex marriage should be legalized in ALL states. I honestly can't be friends with someone who believes otherwise.
7. I like cooking and am good at it but I can't believe some people cook every single night of the week. We eat take out/restaurant food at least once a week and cereal/scrambled eggs/chips and salsa another night. Plus leftovers. How much do your families eat?
8. I NEVER thought I'd be this kind of mom whose child yells "MAMA MILK" and lifts up her shirt to breastfeed and yet... here we are.
9. I wonder how many more years I can go being married without telling my husband what a baby I think he is when he's sick.
10. I need to make an L with my hand to figure out which side is left... and sometimes even that doesn't work.
1. I'm certain I will be the post killer.
2. I'm on week 2 of the 100 push up challenge. It sucks.
3. I got married on a nude beach.
4. I was an esthetician before I became a SAHM. I love popping pimples. I'm gross.
5. Tonight I was reading Cam The Grouchy Ladybug before bed and when we got to the whale SLAP! she laughed so hard she threw up EVERYWHERE. She does this a lot. I really hope she outgrows this or high school will be really difficult for her. ; )
6. I had a physical today and my doctor is sending me for an ultrasound because I have and enlarged thyroid. : (
7. I'm hoping Cam will have a sibling in early 2012. A dysfunctional thyroid might make that tricky. grrr.
8. DH tried to propose via telephone when the Red Sox won the world series in 2004 (he was in FL and I was in RI). He said it was the happiest day of his life and only one thing would make it better. He was clearly drunk - I stopped him. We got engaged 2 months later.
9. I HATE veins. I can't even look at my own without getting squeamish. I pray I never get varicose veins.
10. I wish I loved cooking but I don't.
1. I'm the biggest hypochondriac you will ever meet. It is embarressing how paralyzed with fear I can get. Yet, I realize ALL this is in my head and I can't talk myself out of it.
2. I was on the yearbook staff in highschool and was an editor my senior year.
3. I like being back to work, but I miss my friends
I feel like the whole time I was home (even being the resident gtg whore) no one wanted to hang out and now that I can't, people are.. and then it makes me think people don't like me.
4. I literally realized why I married MH over the past 2 nights (and OF course other times as well) because he stayed up with me half the nights while I was in terrible pain waiting for drs to call back... I felt so dumb after I would calm down because of how I acted (like a freakin lunatic) and he just kept telling me silly stories, rubbing my back, and telling me he loved me (all together now, awww)
5. I taught K how to sing that song "na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey.. good bye" only to sing it like Fat Albert.
6. l love shows like True Blood, Dexter and the like.. but I can only watch them during the day otherwise I have such panic attacks.
7. I never wanted kids, I never wanted to get married. I want to go on the record and say I never want to win a million dollars.
(before you get your judgey pants out.. I have never been around a single baby in my whole life until 28, never even held one till my bff had hers. I've always always been the youngest and preferred it that way... till now)
8. Because MH is not a talker. I can't shut up when I am around people. And I say the oddest sh!t.
9. I've slept with more people than anyone I know and have done some freaky deaky things in the bedroom. All before I met MH. Poor guy.
10. I bite my nails. still.
Ok...I'll play too
1) I really wish I could cut back the number of hours I work, but I am the only one working,(an equal decision by both of us) and honestly like Joel being home...but I want to work maybe 3 days a week and still have Joel home...maybe I'll win Powerball!!
2) I once danced on a cruise ship on the way to Bermuda, in Bermuda and also at Epcot center. I loved every minute of it and wish at times I could go back 15 years!
3) Joel and I met at college where we were both Orientation leaders. I said at the beginning of the Orientation I would be dating him by the end and I was!!
4) I too have a fear of bugs....mostly the really big CRUNCHY ones though...they skeeve me out!!!
5) I want to open up a cute coffee/bakery and serve coffee and dessert all day. Unfortunately it doesn't pay the bills!
6) I am originally from central MA but am finding myself feeling more like a Rhode Islander as the years go on. We've only been here 8 years.
7) I too would love to have another child, but it is expensive and like Pam don't want to get fat again...although I gained the weight after having the kids!! I'll probably lose this weight and get pg again!!!
8) My best friend from college who was also in my wedding de-friended me on facebook in Sept 2009 and I haven't talked to her since. There are times when I think I should call her, but part of me thinks it happened for the best!
9) I am addicted to Reality TV...I can't get enough. I would probably watch even more shows but there aren't enough hours in the day or time saved in the DVR!!!
10) My sister and her family are Jehovah Witness's and I feel like she is closer with her Jehovah friends than she is with me and it really bothers me. We used to be really close, but I feel like her religion has taken presidence over our relationship at times and it makes me sad.
Fun thanks!!!
Oh oh! Me too!!!!!
1. I can't wink my right eye. Like I just don't have the muscles to do it and I physically can't. DH makes fun of me.
2. I absolutely fuckinghate the smell of oranges. YUCK! So much so that my coworkers who sit rather close to me peel their oranges at home!
3. We have quite possibly the worst sex life in the history of mankind. No joke. And it's got nothing to do with lack of time.
4. I never thought it was possible to love someone as much as I love my son. I look at him and my heart skips a beat. I'm so so proud of him and can't believe how far along he's come. We've had some really rough times with him in the first couple years of his life but he's such a joy to have and I just can't get enough of him.
5. I can burp extremely loud.
6. I'm overweight, wear glasses, have crooked teeth (because I thought it was a good idea to ride my bike while closing my eyes and the handlebars hit my teeth!) and everything that I've tried to fix all of the above has not helped. Sometimes I feel I'm the ugliest girl in the room and it makes me so sad.
7. My mother is an alcoholic but has been sober for 7 months. I still can't consider her a mother because the damage has already been done. I can go weeks without talking to her, but my MIL will call DH every single day.
8. I'm pretty sure I would win "Woman of the Year" award after I killed a spider the size of my hand (ok, maybe not, but this sucker was big!) this morning. It was in my kitchen sink and I sprayed the sh!t out of it with Fantastik cleaner and then killed it! And I HATE spiders but I'm pretty sure my DH would divorce me if I woke him up to kill a spider
9. Has plans to get pregnant again by the end of the summer.
10. Spends more time than the average person on food - meal planning, searching for recipes, cooking every night - and the results are just ok. It bums me out and I wish I could cook a lot better than I do.
wow, these are great! i still can't figure out how to change my sig, but i'll join in anyway
1. i met DH when i was a sophomore and he was a senior in college, at a party that he and his friend threw specifically for the purpose of getting us to meet (little did i know at the time). his first words to me were, "so, you have a tongue ring?" nice. we kissed that night and haven't looked back since!
2. i think the last time i was really drunk was shortly after meeting/dating DH, at a college dance. i threw up all over him and his bed... and he still took me to breakfast the next morning
i don't think i've had more than a glass of wine at a time since getting pregnant in may 2008.
3. i love playing sports and was the captain of my college lacrosse team. now i barely can muster up the motivation to get out for a walk each day
hoping that will change soon!
4. i LOVE my job, but being on maternity leave, am constantly questioning whether i want to go back. i know i will, but it's so nice being at home right now
plus, i have this overwhelming guilt that i would be disappointing my family for some reason, even though no one has ever said that.
5. i work for the public defender's office as a child welfare lawyer, representing parents and/or children where abuse and neglect have been alleged by DCF. so essentially, i fight DCF to try to keep kids out of foster care (unless the kids tell me they want to leave their parents). a lot of people don't understand why i do it, but i find it really rewarding and can discuss its merits at length
6. i often dream of becoming a photographer, a yoga teacher, or running a book store. i wonder what it would be like, but don't have enough confidence to make that leap. maybe someday...
7. i've traveled all over europe and asia, but never to south america or africa, and am dying for our kids to be old enough to start taking more exotic vacations again
8. i didn't start cooking until a few weeks ago. now i'm trying to make 3 meals a week. baby steps.
9. i've been keeping a blog for my kids since DD was born. i'm up to 482 entries and am kind of obsessed with it.
10. i would love to be a foster parent later in life... there are so many kids out there that need a good, temporary place and so many crappy foster homes. i don't think we'll have any more biological children though.
I'm super late, but I really enjoyed reading everyone else's responses so I wanted to join in.
1) I have four sets of double letters in my name and three sets of double numbers in my SSN.
2) I cry so easily it's ridiculous. It's a big joke with my family/friends. Particularly when I cried watching "Lunch Lady Land" from SNL. It's a cute story, what??
3) I'm so the boss in my marriage. For example, my husband doesn't like some of the girl names I do, and I really think I could put up a stink and get my way. But I won't, of course!
4) We sleep with 3 dogs in the bed. It gets crowded!
5) My husband and I met through his best friend who was totally in love with me. We were friends for years before getting together. It was awful to do that to his friend and I still feel bad about it - even though I never led him on, I swear! We're all still close, though. His name is our #2 boy name after our dads' names, if we were to have two boys.
6) I have had a turtle named Janis (after Janis Joplin, of course) since 1997, my first year of college. She is still kickin'.
7) I offered to surrogate for my gay best friend from high school. I really enjoy being pregnant.
8) My mom is the youngest of 6 kids, so I have a million cousins on that side. But my dad is an only child of two immigrants and he is the only one on his side. That's a big reason I kept my last name and, if we have a boy, he'll be named after my dad.
9) I have a really weird laugh that gets a lot of comments. My sister and mom have the same laugh in different pitches, so it's funny when we all get together.
10) My sister and I are exactly the same age difference, to the day, as my husband and his brother. They're a year older than us, though.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

- My Great Great Great Uncle was a photographer for Abraham Lincoln (when I was younger we donated several plates of Abraham Lincoln to the Franklin Institute when I was younger because we didn?t have right storage area to preserve them)

3. I was in a commercial for the local water department when I was in elementary school.
4. I?ve worn glasses since 3rd grade and contacts since 6th grade ? without glasses/contacts I can?t see more than a foot in front of me.
5. I LOVE wine!!
6. I wasn?t sure I wanted children at all. However, after my FIL got sick and realized my parents weren?t getting any younger we decided to see what happens. Now that I have Gabrielle I couldn?t imagine my life without her and we?re seriously considering trying for a second the end of this year.
7. I am super duper shy until I know someone and then I don?t shut up. When I was younger I used to make my little sister do all the talking for me. Even now I HATE talking to the deli people/bank teller/ect. I make my husband call an order pizza.
8. I am a pretty big foodie and will eat pretty much anything but HATE olives ? I don?t know what it is about them but they just gross me out.
9. A local dinner made the cake for Bush Sr.?s inauguration. I was invited to participate in the cake cutting ceremony.
10. I never went camping or hiking growing up but after meeting my husband it is now one of my favorite activities.
