Any beer drinkers?
Obviously, we have many, many winos. Any beer drinkers?
I've been trying to branch out and taste different beers lately to expand from just drinking Miller Lite and Rolling Rock all the time. Who's got recs for me?
I recently had the Blue Moon Winter Ale, which I looooooved. I had the Blue Moon Spring Ale as well, and I liked it.
I had Sam Adams Noble Pils and me no likey.
Land Shark is one of my favorites. Yum.
Anyone?

I will drink just about anything lol (tummy permitting). I will pretty much drink any beer that somebody gives me (except dark). I am curious to see recommendations! Also, besides Corona, Land Shark is Floyd's favorite too! However, it is not sold everywhere around here.
:raises hand: I'm Cicerone Certified for beer tasting, pouring, flavor and brewing. I have a plaque and everything.. lol
I just went to a Craft Beer tasting event last Saturday. And I get freebie samples at work all the time.
Lurve Leinenkugel's. Honey & Berry Weiss are my faves. Summer Shandy is also good. 1888 Bock is surprisingly good and smooth for a dark beer.
I normally stick to Miller Lite, but I'm forced to branch out a lot.
I like Blue Moon stuff, but I'm technically not supposed to drink it since we don't distribute it (yet).
We have a local brewery (Hinterland) that brews a lot of great beer as well.
I like beer a lot more than wine.
Stella Artois is my current favorite. I love it.
Like Michelle Leinenkugels Summer Shandy, Honeyweiss, and Amber is good.
Digging New Castle for the bitter beer and Summit.

What's your favorite 'type' of beer? (light, hoppy, fruity, heavy, dark)
I'd take hard liquor and wine over beer any day, but sometimes I get adventurous.
I do like me some Guinness.
I also prefer ciders. Magners and Woodchucks are my favorite.
I used to drink Mike's and Smirnoff's, and being malted I guess they could count as beer, but too many hurt my tummy.

I'm a Budlight girl in the winter, Budlight Lime in the spring and summer and Shipyard Pumpkinhead in the fall.
I'm trying to branch out though...
UGH...I use to live off of Mike's a Smirnoff's before I turned 21. I can't do it anymore.
I used to drink that crap back in HS. Never again. Hello, gut rot.
I find that I do not care for beers that are very hoppy.

Do they carry Leinie's in AR? Honeyweiss is pretty great with lemon.

JA, I haven't tried the Michelob, but I prefer Miller Chill over BL Lime. I love Dos Equis!
A lot of the beer I know about is brewed locally, so I'm not sure how far they branch out sales wise.
Beers in that category would be Leinie Sunset Wheat, Capital Island Wheat, Pilsner Urquell (I think that one is nation wide), Hinterland Cherry Wheat
You'd probably like any lighter, cloudy looking brew with 'wheat' in the name.
FYI: Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat and Capital Island Wheat both taste like Fruity Pebbles.
But you know, in liquid form and minus the milk.
Now that you say that... Sunset Wheat totally does. Hilarious.

I actually took a course at work a couple years ago, that's where I first realized this. We had to taste different beer and come up with food that it 'tasted' like.
Some old guy came up with fruity pebbles, but he was completely right!
I miss beer more than I miss wine, I think. But that changes daily.
I'm a fan of the local brewery we have down the street from where we live. But there's also a couple other breweries that serve some delish beers. There's also a Rock Bottom near us and I tend to like their seasonals.
If you like Guiness, you may like Smithwicks. I think it's much tastier and smoother.
I'm a huge fan of Hoegaarden and also enjoy Stella. I generally like lighter beers over heavier ones.
I really can't think of any others because it's been too long.

I use to only drink really light, easy beers: Corona, Dos Equis, maybe Bud Light Lime, if I'm desperate. Lately, I've been getting into some darker beers. We had a local brew at our wedding, Old Towne Brewery, and were sampling lots of beers pre-wedding. I was shocked that I liked the Amber Ale, which is one we ended up serving. Since then, I've started to like Amberbock and Blue Moon Rising Ale. For Christmas, my stepdad got a home brewery and he's been making an Irish stout that's really good too.
Between work and the move I need a drink- Seriously!
Sunset wheat is a favorite as well as Summer shandy from Leiny's. LOVE that stuff.
I am a craft drinker with Mark - but I will totally admit loving Bud Light Lime. Its my go to gas station beer. Some of our favorites include:
Yungling (we cant get it here in Ohio), Fat tire, Bells, Rivertown Brewing (new out of KY), Great Lakes, some Christian Moerlein, and I could keep going. I will say we do switch it up a lot and its nice that the big party supply store by us sells beers by the bottle so you can get a variety. Its scary how many bottles of beer we could consume (between this and the wine post we sound like alcoholics).
We have a bar here that does a monthly beer tasting, which is where I learned to like a lot of types of beers. I agree with the other ladies about Leinenkugels. The honey weiss is my favorite of theirs (although I haven't seen it yet this year). The Blue Moon Honeymoon (their summer beer) is awesome too, and tastes similar.
My absolute favorite beers tend to be darker beers, especially ones with vanilla or chocolate flavor. If you ever find Young's Double Chocolate Stout, it's awesome. It's like chocolate Guinness.

I'm not big into beer but I love New Glarus Spotted Cow.
It's another brewed here in WI, so idk if its a national beer. If not, looks like you need to come on up and drink some!
Is the Honey Weiss a seasonal beer where you live?
Here it's sold year round. It's one of the most popular beers we distribute. The seasonals are 1888 Bock, Summer Shandy, Oktoberfest & Fireside Nut Brown. Thank God they got rid of Apple Spice *gag*

*raises hand* I'm late to the party, but I was a beer drinking girl LONG before I was a wino!
My grandfather worked for Anheuser Busch for 40 years. He still has a kegerator in his basement. My BIL is a brewer, works for a small microbrewer in STL, special brewed 2 beers for their wedding. Everyone in my family has kegerators homemade by BIL, us included.
I love me some beer.
Favorites really depend on the season, but I love almost anything from New Belgium (mostly that it's like in my backyard) - Fat Tire, Mothership Wit, Sunshine Wheat
Other locals I love:
- Odell's Easy Street Wheat
- Fort Collins Pomegranate Wheat
- Breckenridge's Avalanche Ale
- Tommyknocker's Onery Amber and Jackwacker Wheat
H is a huge fan of Big Sky's Moose Drool, I've recently found a love for Rogue's Dead Guy Ale (used in my 24x24!)
I pretty much love any pilsner, Amber, or wheat. Not a huge IPA fan Oh, and one fo the beers BIL made for their wedding was a Dunkelweisen, a dark wheat - LOVED.
Neuner -- have you tried the Breckenridge Vanilla Porter? It's darker (obviously) but it's really tasty, IMO. Might be one to try if you want to branch out to the dark side.

not a huge porter fan. H loves them though - likes Breck's, and Tommyknocker has a cocoa porter that he really likes.
