Re: Monday Blues
Yeah, I think it was primarily a texture thing for me too.
My sister drives me crazy some times (well a lot). It is so hard to not say anything. This weekend I was at my parents and we went to lunch at McDonald (yes, i know I'm bad for taking my kids there). Anyways my sister shows up by herself. She had just gotten done watching her son play b-ball. She said to my girls "you cousin is at g-ma and g-pas house waiting to play with you." She dropped him off because we were having a Easter family party with all the cousins later that afternoon and since it wasn't "her weekend" with the boys, she couldn't be bothered with going, so my parents took my nephew. So we get back to my parents house and my nephew is STARVING! She didn't feed him lunch. She dropped him off and went out to lunch by herself. Seriously!!! My mom was giving me a WTF?? look. How would not think that a 11 year old wouldn't be hungry at noon after playing a game. But my sister was probably too cheap to spend money on his lunch and didn't want to be bothered staying at my parents house long enough to feed him.
She does that to my parents all the time. My parents spend so much money on food for the grandkids. 5 of them go to their house before and after school, so my mom feeds them breakfast and snacks. Every once in a while, one of my sisters will bring some cereal over, but not often. Every time I bring the girls over, I buy at least a gallon of milk, if not more.
Ugghh!!! They drive me crazy.
That would be sickening. I was wondering about all the people driving to Florida and whatnot for Spring Break this year. Is it really cheaper to drive instead of fly when gas prices are so high?
Wow, that is pretty crazy that your sister didn't think to feed him!
It's a bummer that your parents seem to be somewhat taken advantage of or for granted.
ha ...somewhat...more likely a hugely, insance amount.
For my nephews sake, I'm so gald they have their dad and my parents. I feel bad for the youngest son because he is trying to live up to his brother who is smart and the youngest is somewhat of a klutz and has just plain bad luck, so that is pointed out to him a lot.
I'm sure my sister manage to find money for drinks at the bar and Keeno that night.
Ugh. Let's just say I can relate. And it stinks watching it happen too. To some extent, I think "well, the grandparents are letting themselves be taken advantage of and need to stop so their children can learn to be independent adults" but the other side of me thinks "if they didn't step in and help what would happen to the kids?"
I feel your pain. I think we must be close to that as well.
Yep! If it weren't for my mom, those two boys would be missing out on a lot of love.
And my mom had a really bad childhood, so she made it her life to provide better for her family. She would give the shirt off her back to any one of us. Sadly, three out of four of her children took complete advantage of it.
I just don't get. I know they are on limited income...when they watched the girls for the week when TH and I were on vacation, we gave them a gift card for groceries and two gift card to go out to lunch with the girls.
Don't feel bad or ashamed. I am too
Here is another Judgy McJudgy post....I'm really sick of my cousin's "woe is me" FB posts about her job/line of work. Poor me, I have to pay $40 a month for awesome health insurance for my family. Poor me, I'm required to have an education for my job and now I have $38,000 in student loans that I will never be able pay off"
This is the cousin that HAD to go out and lease an expensive Arcadia because they coudn't fit all their kids into their Hummer. And they HAD to have car that would fit all six family member and that could tow their brand new boat.
I'm guessing the payments for those three things could have mad a nice dent into student loans. My mom overheard the husband saying that their credit cards are maxed out.
Seriously, I could have written this post about the ILs. Except sub in "four out of five children" and "dad" instead of "mom." It's hard to watch and I don't think there's much more that you can do - it's awesome that you give them gift cards for groceries and such and I bet they truly appreciate that you've grown up to be a responsible and caring adult.
I think the gas prices caused ticket prices to soar. I know that the tickets to Florida I have been seeing are higher than I want to pay. Thankfully not going until October so I have a little time for the prices (gas and flight) to go down.
I'm curious what her line of work is in...
I don't feel too bad or ashamed. I'm more mad than anything. DH worked so hard to get the house and now he has to give it up. It's hard on all of us. We've been looking at it this way. We bought a house for $120K and then a few years later we find out it is only worth $60K. If the Mortgage company would have worked with us it would have been a different story but now they can join the other 3 house on our street that sit empty.
I really don't look forward to moving all 3 of us into an apartment but find a house that cost less to rent than our mortgage isn't going to be easy. It seem that the house are twice than what our mortgage is or are in bad area's.
Did you already start the process to file or are just looking into it right now?
It is if you have a hybrid!
I'm excited for our cross-country road trip this summer.
Kasa, why are you considering moving? I'm nosy. You have a nice house.
Deeder sorry to hear about the house. I'm hoping that now the decision is made, that it gives you a bit of peace.
Good luck with the apt search. Have you looked at home rentals. It seems like so many people are buying property to rent.
I've looked a a few different places. We would love to be in Walker so we can get Gabe into Kenowa Hill's schools without having to go through a lottery. It would also be easier on Gabe to go from one house to another he doesn't like the idea of an apartment since he would have to give up a lot of the things he does with the yard. IF we could find something rent to own would be nice, but Ryan & I are picky about location.
I have started the process. Right now I am coming up with all the documentation that the lawyer needs. Then I gotta take an online class, etc. Then give the lawyer the rest of his fee, which I am half way there with. You?
Ha ha. Awesome.
DELETED.
I felt weird about what I posted considering some of the other content in this post. I'll answer your question via a PM, Chymes.
My next car is definitely going to be a hybrid. A hybrid SUV.
I'll PM you.
