Good morning :)

I feel like I'm hardly here anymore! I'm planning to get GRNOTD back up and running soon :)

What's on your gameplan today?

  • Good morning!

My gameplan today is very similar to TheWop's actually.

  • Good Morning All!

I was bummed, because I go to tennis on Monday nights and I went yesterday and apparently it was an off week for Spring Break.  Boo.  But I'm feeling a bit more chipper this morning than yesterday.

Today's agenda: Work, Walk Dogs/Dog Park, Cook

I would LOVE to get more into tennis. I'm not very good, but I think it's a lot of fun.

They have a beginner class where I go, I tried to get Andy to join it actually so we can actually play each other.  You don't have to be a member of the club I use either, but the classes cost a little more.  If you want more info I can email you.

  • Morning! I chopped about 8 inches off my hair yesterday on a whim.  It feels SO weird not to be able to put my hair in a ponytail, but I love the cut and feel like an adult with a "style" :)

My agenda: clean my house, laundry, and finish sewing the applique onto Ben's birthday shirt.  Also menu plan and find recipes for his birthday party in 2 weeks!

Oo!  I bet it's super cute!  I LOVE having shorter hair.  It forces me to style it everyday.  I always feel a little more put together when my hair is done everyday.  I personally always felt like a slob when it was long enough to put in a ponytail because I would put it up every.single.day. and it wasn't a cute ponytail.  LOL.

  • I "made" my sister a dining room set and brought it over to the rental yesterday.  It looks great in the dining room.  Smile

And when I say made, I really mean stripped, sanded and painted it.

The walls are painted a light gray blue and have a cottage-y feel.  I painted the table a deep gray blue that sort of has a cottage-y/shabby chic/rustic feel.  Love how it all came together.  And it was super cheap to do!

I feel like you need to have your own show on the DIY network or something, you are always doing great projects!

I am on the lookout for an old farm table that I can do that to.  I love the look ofa natural top with white turned legs.  And a bench along one side.  But big farm tables are expensive!

Yeah I threw my wet hair into a messy bun every single day.  Since forever.  My hair was just long and gross so I sat down and told the stylist to do an inverted bob.  I love it, and aside from the gallon of product and the teasing she did to it, I think it makes me look older.  I  hope haha.

LOL.  I put 3 products in my hair and tease on a regular basis.

  • Hanging out with DS today; we might go outside later. It looks really nice! Also have laundry to do, and need to get something CrockPot-able going for dinner after running group.

    Enough chit-chat, PIP already! :)

An inverted bob is what I had for my first "real" grown-up style; my only regret was that I hadn't done it sooner. It was the haircut that got me the most compliments of anything my entire life.

    So, PIP!

  • I feel like I'm way behind on baby stuff.  I don't know why. I have a rocking chair, dresser/changing table (even though it's still out in the garage), crib bedding, breast pump, a few clothing items....and that's it.  I don't know what else I should be buying (except crib, that'll be ordered next week).  I don't really want to buy much because I don't know what we'll get from the shower.

It sounds like you are doing really well!! I'm sure you will get a lot of useful things at your showers and then you can fill in after those.

    Behind, WHAT?

We didn't *start* buying anything 'til I was 22 weeks. And even then, the last few weeks, when everything was set up, seemed ennnndless because it had all been there for "so long" by then. ;) Don't rush. You'll get bored later. :)

Thanks!  I guess I see all these girls on the D&R board posting all this baby stuff, and working on their nurseries and projects and I think I'm all behind!  LOL.  I have no idea what babies really need (gasp!) so I don't even know what I should be looking for.  But, I guess if you say to wait, then I'll wait!  I guess I do have alllll summer.

Yeah you definitely sound ahead of the game!  There isn't anything wrong with that, I was too.  (Only because I was excited to organize and put the nursery together - not actually because I had my sh!t together, because I rarely, if ever, do.)  I had an early shower (24 weeks because my mom wanted to host it at her house, outside, so she picked a day where she was hoping the weather was still nice, late Sept, and it was a beautiful day.)  Anyway, I got a lot of stuff fairly early on in my pregnancy, so it was easy to put it together and wait.

    Wow I really rambled!

Want to buy another one and fix it up? We have a dark brown spindle-leg table and five chairs for sale on CL... doing something like that is *exactly* what I thought it'd look good with, and it would be adorable in a rental. But we don't have a rental, or the space for it. :)

  • My nursey was finished around July 9 or so and Allison was born July 26. To this day, TH still won't admit that was cutting it close and he was behind. To this day, I'm still bitter about it. Stick out tongue After my showers I would go to the 'nursey" throw the crap in the room and shut the door. Or I would have to heave the box off that was over the dresser, hold it up with one hand because I couldn't get the box all the way off due to ceiling height, use the other hand to open the drawers and put stuff away.

Amelia was born Oct 13, we had to wait until the end of the month after my mom stayed with us to help out before we could make the guest room into Allison's 'big girl' room. It was already painted, he just had to put the furinture in place and the decorations up. Allison moved into her room Christmas week. Between Nov 1 - mid December, nothing happened.  By mid-December, I told him just to wait and we would set up her Christmas presents (the kitchen set and table) and surprise her with everything at once.

  • I started the day of running. So far I've been to Marshall's and bought a new pair of grey work pants and a new top and found a awesome trench coat I'll be going back for. Also stopped at Office Max and picked up a few things there. Came home and put dinner in the crock pot and I'll be leaving for the office in a few minutes and then I'll be off to MI Blood to work a shift.

BTW: anyone here a blood donor? I'm wonder if I might come across any of you and not know it as I don't know real life names that much.

  • This morning consists of sitting in my jammies, drinking coffee, and trying to not to feel guilty for doing nothing.  I'm on spring break, and I don't NEED to do anything right now, yet I feel like I should not be wasting my time.  Argh.  The last couple of weeks have been super stressful so I really need to let/get my body (to) calm  down.

Later I have support group and lots of driving to do to help out other people, so I think that should fill my quota for the day.

  • I think I'm ready to go crazy on our basement and just start throwing things away.  We have SO much junk down there.  Our laundry situation is a disaster, and we have these nice work benches down there that I could use to organize and fold laundry.  I think it's time. It's trash day today, so I know the can has some room!

Sweet. DH is on board with this as well.  I can't wait to have a clean basement again!

  • Freeburger, I love my short (currently bobbed) hair!  I hope you do too.  I think my hair looks so much better than when I tried to wear it longer.  Mine never really worked long because it got dry and frizzy.  It's much healthier now.

Des&Molly, I continue to be impressed by your DIY projects.  You rock!

  • I am finally getting around to working on my photo book from our Arizona trip last fall.  It's been on my to-do list for months!

This reminds me that I have a Groupon for a photo book that I need to use.  :)  I finished the book a while ago, but never got around to ordering it.

  • The WOP:

It sounds like you are doing the smart thing.  It's amazing how giving others are when you are having a baby :)
