Everytime I see this previews for the new TLC show Extreme Couponing I wonder if this would actually work out. I try to be good and cut coupons, but it doesn't always happen, and when I do cut them, I forget about them.

I end up forgetting too.
I saw the preview the other day, I want to watch it and get some tips and also to see how they are coming out with $160 worth of groceries and spending next to nothing! There's gotta be some sort of a catch, huh? For instance, I know what brand stuff I like...and I'm not gonna buy some cheap-o jar of spaghetti sauce to save a buck?!
I'm pretty good about using them at CVS and Walgreens - I can typically save 60-70 percent there using coupons and deals [but I only usually get beauty goods from those places, like deodorant or toothpaste].
I wish I lived in an area that had those types of stores, but I don't. We have Wal-Mart. Fun. Once we move though, we'll live near more stores that do coupon doubling and stuff...and I plan on taking full advantage. The main catch is, you can't be too picky with brands - you just buy what's on sale. Some things, I'm just brand loyal to...so not sure how well I'll do with this whole couponing thing. :P
My sister is awesome at this.
I suck.
I get them, and forget them.

I rarely see coupons for items that I want, but when I do, I cut them and forget them.
I want to be good at this and for awhile was very good at planning my shopping trip around sales but I have been slacking lately. I just do not put the time into it, although being thrifty is something I enjoy quite a bit.

It takes a huge time commitment that I'm just not willing to give. At HEB (TX chain grocery store) they have specials and coupons of their own that they put out around the store. I use those because they're already right by the things I was going to buy! Plus, there are often buy A, get B, C, D, and E free, which is awesome.
Usually, when I compare name brand with coupon price to store brand, the store brand is still cheaper, so that's the route I usually take.
