Re: Location

  • I wish I could post pics from my phone since I can't use the computer at work to go on The Knot...I live in the Poconos of PA. About 30 minutes away from Dorney Park. Tons of ski resorts...Camelbeach water park during the summer is amazing. The Crossings outlets...there is SOO much to do, we just have to travel 20 minutes in any direction. The best parts for me are being within an hour of Shady Maple in Lancaster and Leesport (where they hold a HUGE craft fair five times a year. :-)

I live in the Tennessee Valley, right next to the Great Smoky Mountains. I'm about 15 minutes from Knoxville, 30 minutes from Gatlinburg/pigeon forge (the Vegas of the East, minus the gambling).

The picture above is a view similar to the one I see every day driving in to work.

Tennessee is my favorite place, and I've lived here all my life. I feel like we are in a good location. We have beautiful rivers, mountains, and we are no further than a day trip to the beach. We have great weather, and rarely get over 2 inches of snow. We experience four seasons: Winter, almost summer, summer, and late summer. We are close to Atlanta and Nashville, about 3 hours from both, and 2 hours from beautiful Asheville NC.

We arent very back woods in my area, but there are definitely some places around here that are a few centuries behind. Nothin' wrong with that, they are just a little slower paced. Also, playing in the rivers and lakes around here is very popular. Norris Lake, below, is my favorite.

SEC football is a religion down here, as is high school football. The rivalries run deep, as most of the time families stay in the same area. 6 people from 3 generations in my family graduated from the same high school.

    Come to East Tennessee!!
