Re: SA Wednesday
Re: Advisors
Summer, I'm so sorry you're going through that, I'd say definitely get your booty to TWU ASAP!
I had wonderful advisors at TWU and for Musicology at UNT, but for Library Science at UNT, I never even met my advisor, we just emailed in forms with what we wanted to take and they cleared us for registration. It was super simple, but I felt sorry for anyone who didn't know what they wanted/needed to take.
Re:Britney
When she first came out, I couldn't stand her. Britney and I are the same age (like a week apart), and I was definitely in that stage of rebellion where I hated anything girly/popstar-ish. But during her epic meltdown I became fascinated with her and started listening to her music, and now I must admit that I love it. I haven't listened to the whole new album yet, but I do love "Hold it Against Me"
Butting in: You should be fine. My skin is so sensitive (I use Dreft detergent, cover hotel pillows in a t-shirt) and on Day 4 my skin looks better than ever! On a side note, the Clarisonic will come with a cleanser and I opted not to use it. I am just using my regular cleanser with the brush.
Okay - thanks Sara. I use Clinique, so I will just continue to use that. What facial cleanser do you use?
Mine too. I got a good laugh at the groom-eating pumpkin and then went in to delete it.
Lacey,
I have VERY sensitive skin as well, and I've only used it twice so far and it hasn't irritated my skin. I do not use the soap that it came with, because new soaps on my skin=bad news. I stick to what I already use.
Anna,
I really like what UTA's nursing program has to offer, which is why I'm here. No offense to any other UTA students, but, IMHO, that's one of the only things they have much to brag about or offer. So, I'm just biting my lip until I *hopefully* get into the program. I'm going to apply to TWU, but I have to wait a semester
. Because they require one of the classes to be already completed that I will be "in progress" of taking when I apply at UTA. UTA allows that, TWU does not.
So, assuming I get into the UTA program, I won't be applying to TWU. But, if I don't get into UTA, I'll wait a semester and apply to TWU and cross my fingers and toes! I would love to go there. LOVE.
Melissa- I "contacted" you.
My boss offered me tickets for my birthday. But Ben said I should get something else since we just went. So we'll probably skip it.

None taken. I wouldn't be at UTA if I hadn't started there in the beginning through the UT-Cap program (go to UTA for Freshman year, take 30 hours, get a 3.8 and then transfer to UT - got the 3.8 but by then already had a life here I didn't want to leave.) I have toyed with applying to other schools in the past but this is already taking me so long I decided just to stick it out and get done.
I went on a 2-3 year span where I stopped watching Grey's too, right in the middle of the series. You know you can watch them "instantly" through netflix right? Assuming you have a netflix account. It's a lot better than hulu.
I understand. I am ready to get these pre-reqs over with so I can apply and see if I get in or not, and make my decisions from there. I hate not knowing what the next few years will be like for me. I'm used to things being more "planned out". I know that's not how life works. But. I'm type A. Life just needs to understand that. Duh.
I DID THE QUOTE RIGHT!! Finally!
Ok, had to get that out.
Summer - and.... what facial cleanser do you use?
Stephie - oh sad, but definitely understandable. The last one was the only show I had ever been to, so I'm kind of hooked. I really want to go to Vegas and see "O". I think it's called O. I've heard it's amazing. I've never been to Vegas!
I also stopped watching Grey's right in the middle of everything. They kept pissing me off.
I know, I know. It's just TV.
Me, too!!
Haha - Summer.
Lacey,
That's the reason I stopped watching "Friends" and "Frasier". I got tired of the tease every week: Are they finally going to get together? It just got old.
Bill went to see the Elvis Cirque show and said it was really good. I'm thinking about going to see the one at Disney the next time we're down there.
This guy in my office just brought in Five Guys and it is killing me. I had to go into his office to talk to him and kept looking at his melty cheese burger instead of him...haha! Seriously thinking of diet busting for lunch before school.
ETA: Nevermind. Took a look at the nutrition info and one small burger and small fries is more calories and fat than I have alotted for lunch, dinner and after workout snack.
I use proactive.
And I think I stopped watching because it just didn't fit with my schedule anymore, and I didn't have DVR. But I'm catching up, and I watch regularly now. Wasn't a fan of last week's. Whoever thought Grey's gone broadway was a good idea was on crack. DH said the guy who wrote that episode had been wanting to do a musical since the series started, and I guess they finally let him.
Now I understand why it took them 7 years to let him. They all knew it would suck.
And may I say, that I'm still sitting in the advising office waiting to be seen. And I'm hungry. And I have to use the ladies room. For going on an hour. But I'm afraid to get up. Because if I get up, and they call my name, they'll move on to the next person and I'll have to come back and wait another 2 hours.
Anna, the pumpkin and the pretty swirlies remind me of Cinderella and make me want to sing Bippity Boppity Boo when I see your ticker
I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?
Ha! We had a lot of pumpkins in our wedding paper/decor, and I tried to keep it from looking like the Cinderella's carriage, but I can totally see it in the ticker!
I'm allergic to proactive.
So my mom lives with her dad and his wife, I will call her Lilly, and has not worked since 2008 by choice. Looking for jobs include looking at the word Classified in the Classified section or Lilly going through the job section, circling things my mom could do and then the paper ends up in the trash. She has no money coming in whatsoever and has had no interest in getting a job since she started living with them, because she has the "after all they will pay for everything so why should I work? I'll just keep milking the cow" mentality. I found out this weekend that Lilly has had to go back to work after being retired for 10+ years. Part of me is ticked that she has to do this in the first place but the other part of me says "Learn to say NO." They enable her yet are surprised she is still with them.
This is wrong on so many levels. Your grandfather needs to step in here.
Oh no, that's terrible! Keep checking and maybe something will open up.

Just do it!
He won't, which is disappointing. He just won't not enable her, it is ridiculous. Yes double negative.
Check for hotels in Texas City, League City, or Webster. Texas City is the closest and there are some good ones(safe) that are off of 146. League City/Webster have alot but they are about a 30 min trip to Galveston. I'm sure those have reasonable rates.
La Marque may have some, but I am not entirely sure about the area.
Edit: And I forogt to mention, from that part of Texas City, it is about a 20 min drive. Galveston sucks because it's kind of a bottleneck to get onto the island and so most times, it takes ~ 20 mins to get to the east end, which is where the cruise ship terminal is.
Serlace-I know the brand (Oil of Olay), but not the exact product. Sorry. At the beginning of the year, I changed my whole "cleanser, toner, moisturizer" routine. They can all be purchased at Target and so far it has worked out. The Clarisonic has been icing on the cake!
