  So we were suppose to stay with my Uncle Saturday night before we left for the cruise but he called a little while ago and said that he was out of town for work and "forgot" we are staying with him.  He said he doesn't get back until Sunday.  I have called almost 30 hotels in Galveston and all but 2 are booked solid, Hotel Galvez which is $300 for 1 night or the hotel you can also rent by the hour.  I'm gonna have to go with no on both.  My mom said we can just crash on their room on the floor.  Yeah!  We will be so sore the rest of the week.  Oh well it saves us $300 and some diseases!

   Check for hotels in Texas City, League City,  or Webster. Texas City is the closest  and there are some good ones(safe) that are off of 146. League City/Webster have alot but they are about a 30 min trip to Galveston. I'm sure those have reasonable rates.

  La Marque may have some, but I am not entirely sure about the area.

   Edit: And I forogt to mention, from that part of Texas City, it is about a 20 min drive. Galveston sucks because it's kind of a bottleneck to get onto the island and so most times, it takes ~ 20 mins to get to the east end, which is where the cruise ship terminal is.

   

  I wish this was an option.  We are riding down with my family.  We really need to stay in Galveston.  My family is all staying at Hotel Galvez (Groupon deal from months ago so got a great deal) and we are not shelling out the $300 to stay in our own room.  I figure 1 night won't kill us, and my little sister has a bed to herself right now so I might let DH sleep on the little couch in there and I'll sleep with her. The hotel will let us park our cars there and shuttle us to the ship terminal also so that was a huge plus!

  Lacey - I saw the Cirque show right after snowmageddon.  I loved it, but our seats sucked... We were right behind one of the pole things with a guy on top doing lights, so we couldn't see half the stage for the ending set!  I was MAD, because our original seats were better, but then it got snowed out.  But I totally want to see the one that's coming soon!!

  I want a clarisonic now too... dang peer pressure!

  And I'm venting because DH is STILL gone, without a date to come home yet

  On a happier note, my sister came over today and we made dinner and just hung out a while... I miss getting to see her every day at work, way more than I realized!  Who woulda thought, ten years ago when we fought like crazy, that I'd be sad to not see her every day?
