Samuel Robert was born on Monday, 4 weeks early but he is doing well. Long story short, labor began around 8pm Sunday but I ended up not knowing I was in truly in labor until 10am monday. Not thinking it would happen like it did, we scrambled to get a bag together and headed to the midwife clinic, but my body had already began pushing! I ended up delivering him at the clinic in one push, less than 5 minutes after we got there! Then came an ambulance ride for Samuel and I to the hospital, he headed off to the NICU while I got put back together for an hour:/
He's still in the NICU due to jaundice, low platelets, trouble regulating his own body temperature and occasional low glucose levels. So nothing too life-threatening at this point, hopefully with time his body will be able to regulate all these things on its own. Until then we are not sure how long he'll have to stay, last we heard was maybe a week from his date of birth.
(bruising on his back is from my pelvic bone:/)
