I hadn't been on TK pretty much since after my HM...I was so over weddings by the time mine was over I didn't really want to talk or think about wedding stuff haha
Weird that when I decided to come on TN it was the same week all of you switched over hahaha

Speaking of McG, we are considering having anniversary pictures done next month. Even though we have eleventy billion amazing pictures from last year, it just seems like a special thing to do.
Cliff notes:
McG had a boudior marathon at the... Bellmont? (I believe) several months ago. Well, about a month later, my photog was going to run a marathon and booked it at the Bellmont too. She was totally innocent on her reasoning for booking it there, but I can obviously see why McG would think otherwise.
McG took to FB and posted something to the effect of "another photog booked a marathon at the same hotel I had my marathon... how coincidental, but I'm totally not worried considering the quality of work (which I didn't think was very nice)"... in so many words. She stated that someone on TK tipped her off (b/c I posted a PSA). I commented on the status and said "I assume this is b/c of my post. I can assure you that Brooke didn't mean to rip your idea off... I would email her if I were you" Well... the post kept going on with her friends saying pretty mean things. It resulted in me deleting my comments and deleting Chelsea from FB (I didn't want to be catty, but I didn't want to feel conflicted either).
Chelsea sent me a message afterwards apologizing for the thread, but I just felt like the whole exchange was just really uncalled for. Brooke said she literally almost broke into tears over the email from Chelsea (not b/c it was mean) because she felt so awful over the situation. Brooke canceled the marathon and booked it for a Ft Worth location - the one that I attended.
I hear that stuff like this happens in the "industry" a lot, but I hated that it happened so close to me.

I forgot you had b-pics done. Was your photog reasonably priced? Did you share them? Would you be willing to? I am looking for a McG alternative since their marathons don't work out with when I want to do my pics and a personal session would be too much $$$.

I think just because you book a photo shoot at the same location does not mean you are trying to copy some one. I also know how it feels for some one to say your photog's work is not the best, even if they aren't talking directly to you. I don't know all the details, but I think it is very sad for one professional to say anything about another professional in that manner. Just my opinion.

ETA: Also, I have nothing against either photographer. It's simply an opinion based on cliff notes.
She has a marathon coming in May, I believe (Victoria Secret inspired!). Yes, very reasonable and her b-pics are AMAZING! Email me, and I will send you some of them.

Michelle, IDK if I will see her tonight or not but if I do I will pass that along. Matt's BM is pulling the car around, since that is their getaway car and she's going to have Chelsea and Mack there to snap pics of his reaction. He apparaently said something yesterday about how he wished he had the rims so they could have pics of the completed car, so I'm crossing my fingers that he does notice.

Totally... you pick your vendors for your own personal reasons, and when you feel like your judgement is called into question... you obviously go into defense mode.
I'm over it at this point, I'd like to think that there was no malice behind the statement. But still, rubbed me the wrong way.

I was really bummed I wasn't able to do the mini session April30/May1. My sister is moving and we already agreed to help them move so that weekend wasn't good for me. Her mini sessions are about the same price as Chelsea from what the emails from both show. I liked Brooke's style more but my sisters liked Chelsea better. I am still thinking about maybe doing my own mini session with Brooke when she does another marathon.
I don't know who told her, but I promise it wasn't me.
I wasn't going to continue with the story, but I just wanted to add that I read your photog's blog and her marathon announcement was basically word for word copied from Chelsea.
If I were a photog I think that would really piss me off too.
ETA: FWIW though, I think Brooke is great.
I don't know about the similarites, I saw Brooke's blog but I didn't see them being that closely related... but I didn't investigate too much on that aspect, because I do know that Brooke wouldn't do that. And yes, I would be upset too... but when she put down her "quality of work"... that's what got me.
It's an old hat now... but that was just my take on it.

I look at it this way....these two photographers were just that, your wedding photographers. WHO CARES if they have a tiff with one another, they are not either of your best friends.
I wouldn't stress out about this whose right and wrong, who copied what or didn't....because at the end of the day, you don't really know them that well anyways, so you shouldn't worry about it

I agree! That's exactly why I hadn't even brought it up until now... since we are confessing.
However, I think that you would be offended if someone called your photog's quality into question... right? Just like if someone said "wow... that shirt is a horrible color"... but it's what you chose to wear! No one likes to hear about their decision being put down... no matter how big or how small. That's my take anyway!

I definately see where you are coming from....but I am a "don't sweat the small stuff" kind of person. So even if everyone else in the world thought my photo's quality sucked or if I was wearing the world's most hideous shirt....well f** it b/c I liked it, which is all that mattered!
I think your pictures turned out gorgeous and there is a reason you picked her, b/c YOU liked her quality of work. Don't let ANYONE make you doubt why you picked who you did!
Crap my photo was my DH's dad...best quality, probably not, but HEY I liked the way they turned out and I didn't have to spend a crap load of money.... ME = HAPPY haha

Speaking of photographers, I'm a little suspicious of some new posters I see over on TK. I'm going to keep my eye on that one.
I confess that I'm not really that comfortable posting over here. By the time I get to work, the active thread is several pages and I feel like I'm already out of the loop. Plus you girls are pretty much are all the same age and everything and have so much in common. I kind of feel a little lost over here.
