Re: Confessions

  • I think i need to add "drama llamas" to my regular vocab too now.

I confess that I am about to step away for a site-visit with a corporate group and then will play catch up on Confessions upon my return.

    ~DFWs Resident Snark~
I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

I confess that, sometimes, planning the prom is my favorite part of my job.  Sometimes.  Like when I have parents emailing me and administrators visiting me and over 20 kids being arrested at school in the last eight days.

    Wait!  What???

TN gods have taken away my power to delete a post, so sorry it posted twice.

Haha - love the power of tone over the internet.  I will say I am very impressed by your accomplishments at the age of 22.  :)  For the record, I am 28 - which I know is not much of a gap - I was just trying to think of reasons why Stephie should stay.  Ha.

  • I confess that a lot of the best advice I've received, WR and NWR has been from Stephie.

So, I would be sad if you left. And I've actually thought to myself this week "Where has Stephanie been?"

  • I confess that I don't understand the story behind the dislike for Mambo Taxis, Stephie?

I also agree with you, Leslie.  I feel like I'm getting to know all of you much better!

Well, that's what happens when you bully two other girls into vandalizing a girl's car to the tune of $10,000 AND when you're stupid enough to still bring your pot to school after the first eight are hauled.  And, it wasn't even a full moon week.

Not to sound too cheesy, but I 100% agree with this.  I had both of your bios bookmarked through my entire wedding planning process. Plus, if you look at our wedding and then your wedding.  I copied a ton of your ideas.  Hopefully you don't mind that I copied your ideas.  Smile

    Ditto this!!

  • I agree on the Stephie advice.  When I had my sister drama, you and Brianna were the two who gave the most amazing advice and helped me kill the llama.  I also find myself going back to your bio over and over :X  I am such a bio stalker it's not even funny.
  • Awww, ya'll are sweet.  But see, you kind of prove my point--I'm probably more useful over there.  I know I'll probably still post there some--I won't be able to help myself.

But thanks for saying I offer good NWR stuff too.  :)

I confess I still love weddings.

Bri, we got a new Mi Cocina in Rockwall--it's like the only decent restaurant we have in a 30 mile radius of where we live.  So we went last Saturday night and I had 2 Mambo Taxis--and got so blasted I could barely make it out of the restaurant.  I was in bed from 9:00 p.m. Saturday night until about 11:30 a.m. Monday morning.  Yeah, no more margaritas for me.  I obviously can't handle them.

ETA: Kendall, I LOVE your bio!  And what you have done with the vendor site is awesome.

Their Mambo Taxi's are hella strong!! To be honest though, I am not really impressed with Mi Cocina's, I think the food is mediocre and over priced....my Mojito's with $10 each!!!!! That was a one and only one time trip to that restaurant

  • Do you not like Gloria's?  My dad and mom used to go there to meet up with old friends before she got sick.

I confess that I think this is just a bunch of bunk.  Yep, I said it, bunk.

Stephie... stay!!  Come to a G2G and at least give us all a chance!

Gloria's at the Harbor is nearly impossible to get into on the weekends without a long wait.  Ben won't even try anymore.

Tiffany, I'll definitely stick around.  I just can't post as much with this format when I'm busy.

I feel this way about every chain "Mexican" place.  None of the food is any good and the booze is always overpriced.  Give me a seedy, mom-and-pop, hole in the wall Mexican place with grandma cooking the food in the back and cousin Johnny making me the strongest margarita known to man for $2.   Just don't drink the water :(

I only went to the Harbor area once to the theater.  It kept closing and re-opening and closing and re-opening so we stopped going there.  I had no idea where the Gloria's even was.

Haha that made me laugh! :-p  My FI and I really love El Fenix.  We go there all the time and they aren't too expensive.  I also like Blue Mesa, but they are definitely a little pricey!

  • I confess that the anxiety meds (which I have stopped taking) may have done more harm then good.  I feel so blah about everything.  I need to start getting excited about going to NOLA next weekend.  Oh and that other thing going down 4/23  ;)

    Lauren,

Sometimes, you just have to go for multiple visits for adjustments.

  • Lauren, I'm sorry to hear that. :(

I just read your blog over on WB about this and read about Kova/Kavo- I can't remember what it was.  Did your doctor tell you anything else about the natural way?

I have anxiety about certain things, usually when it involves certain people.  I read Vitamin B helps with that and N&M posted about this tea yesterday in Bobbileigh's post. I'm thinking of giving it a shot or the Starbucks one because I have 2 GC's there that will not be used otherwise.

  • I confess that I think that my brother has lost his mind. He got into Harvard and a bunch of other Ivy league schools including Cornell. He got a so-so scholarship to Harvard and an awesome one from Cornell (42,000 per year which cuts it down to 12,000 per year) and he is still wanting to chose Harvard. Harvard is still going to be 30,000 per year.

My parents paid/are paying for all of us, 3 kids, for our undergrad and J is the last one. I understand that it has been your dream but 12,000/yr to go an Ivy! How can you pass that up?

He didn't, sorry.  Just that it should help short term and that you can get it at most nicer food stores like central market.  At this point I'm worried to take anything else in the next 2 week. I totally get your anxiety with certain people, and may look into the natural stuff after 4/23.

  • Lauren,

Can you cut the pills and half and then see if that helps you without being a zombie?

  • imagejuliebug1997:

I'm not too sure.  I'm doing pretty good with the work stress since one of the major projects on my plate wrapped up last week.  If I get really stressed out I may try cutting the pill in half.

  •  I confess that I went to Chick Fil A to get a Chargrilled Sandwich and got a Spicy Chicken Sandwich instead.   Fail.  At least I didn't get any fries or sides, I guess.

I confess that I'm really pissed off that the AC Company/Home Warranty did not order the right part for our air conditioning, and that we now will have to be hot the rest of the weekend.  We have been lucky the past 2 weeks that it wasn't too hot, but now I'm afraid our luck has come to an end.

If you really mean this...there is a GREAT mexican food place that is a hole in the wall called El Taquito Cafe (5427 East Grand Avenue, Dallas, TX 75223). Their food is so authentic and cheap. And if you like HOT hot sauce they have the best I've ever tasted!!

  • I confess that:

1.) I am like the ONLY person that doesn't like Chick fil a

2.) I went to the Grand Lux for lunch...and had the Potato Spring Rolls...FAIL!!!! But oh so tasty!!

  • I confess that I treated myself to a Chuy's margarita swirl at lunch... and this afternoon is much better than this morning!
