B&M Monday

It's Monday. And it's going to be a really. Long. Week. Oh, and lovely aunt flow is visiting. Yay. Love her. She's my fav relative.

Oh, and we didn't get this monster storm that everyone is complaining about this morning. That's not really a B&M.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Re: B&M Monday

  • My aunt has been MIA.  This is good and bad.

The front/dry line that moved through late in the night had me in so much pain yesterday that I'm still feeling it in my neck this morning even though I do feel better.

  • Oh, and we never made it to "Burn the Floor" because they were running a marathon through Fair Park.  First:  they left no way for anyone to get in except for some random street that no cop could tell us how to get to.  Second:  who would want to run on those crappy streets anyways?
  • Ummmm.... Julie is there something you need to tell us!?

You're right though. It could be worse. I'm thankful every month that AF just shows up.

  • Yea that storm sucked....my DH woke up at 2am to go to the bathroom, which of course woke me up. And that same moment the electricity went out and we have huge windows in our master bedroom, so it was SOOO loud!!

We ended up moving to the guest bedroom where there is only a small window and it wasn't facing the storm (much much quieter). But we have a king size bed in the master and a full matress in the guest, I felt like DH was on top of me!! haha THEN he started snoring so I got up and went back to the master.

At 6 am when we both woke up the electricity was still out so we had to get ready in the dark :(

And then on our drive to work we saw this at the gas station right by our neighborhood

  • Holy crap, Chelsea! That's nuts!!

The storm was rough on Cadence... who slept under my armpit all night while kicking me.  I didn't get much sleep.

  • I have a ton today. 1. I have another bad tire. This one has a huge bulge in it that showed up from nowhere. I am at the dealer hoping for a warranty replacement. Although the service guy came out, looked at the wheel and told me since my rim was so scratched Ford would call it impact damage. I took a shop towel and wiped off the "scratches" which are more commonly known as road dirt, so I am not hopeful.

    2. My in-laws have decided to come Friday afternoon. This means I have to be at my house which means I am out for the G2G. Gotta love IL's.

    3. I have a test today. In the same class I had a paper due in the last time I had a bad tire. Asking her to forgive 2 bad tires is probably pushing my luck, but what can I do?!?

    4. DH sat me down last night and told me he wants to start "trying" next month. No joke. I told him work/school/kid was too much and he told me he already had a meeting set up with his boss to talk about a raise and that I can quit work so I could finish school by May of next year and stay home with our baby. Oh man. Told him I would think about it.

  • The Sunday night blues "because you know you have to go to work Monday" are SO much worse when you are on vacation all weekend, and still out of town because you are also going to work there on Monday.   It still feels like I'm on vacation because I'm in a hotel with DH, but I have to get up early for work Monday.  Yuck.

    Wow Leslie!!

First off, I'm so bummed you can't go Friday.

Secondly, Are you ready for a baby??

  • I had a very long weekend.  I'm tired, I hurt, and I want to go back to sleep.  Yep, that's pretty much it.
  • Holy cow Leslie!!  That's a lot to think about.

Um... all I have is that it's Monday and my boss starting firing off emails early this morning.

ETA: Oh and so I know it rained because of the wet streets this morning, but I didn't hear the storm at all.  Maybe it didn't hit Plano so hard?

  • On my phone so not bothering with official quotes.

Summer - I know! I was so upset when they changed their arrival from Sat to Fri! I talked to DH about skipping dinner with them but it was a no-go. So lame.

Re: baby - right this second, no. In a year, sure. DH has always been upfront with me that he wanted to have his 1st by 30, he will be 29 next month. I have always been upfront that I wanted to finish school, next May that's done. I knew it would happen eventually, the time just seems to go by so fast, you know? I feel like DH was 25 yesterday and we still had 5 years.

  • I know Lacey and it came from nowhere. We were talking about his birthday plans and he just segued right into the baby talk. I knew he wanted a baby, but I didn't know he was this serious about it. He is usually Mr. Plan Everything and wait for a perfect time. He told me he feels like he will never feel "perfectly ready" and now feels pretty good. He had thought about the finances and everything. He was prepared.

  • Summer,

Anything's possible but I doubt I'm going to be having a new family member in the next bit of time.

Kids are supposed to be at school to learn.  Not for you to use to help "tag" for NJHS.  A note home would probably suffice for this instead of pulling kids out of a HS level class.

    Leslie,

You must like your ILs a whole lot more than I like mine.

Well kudos to his approach.  Sounds like he really thought everything through.  :)

I agree with never feeling "perfectly ready".  I may have a kid, but I know I will never feel "perfectly ready" to have it (him/her).

  • I thought Julie meant her Aunt was missing, as in Aunt Margaret not the other.

The weather cut into my TV shows last night...boo to the storm, which also made me not sleep very well.

I was trying to figure out how to manage the G2G but my grandmothers man friend died so she will be coming to town and we will be working on curtains this weekend so I'm thinking it will be a no go.

I'm also having a boob issue.  You know those two buttons on a shirt that usually overlap your chest?  It seems that no matter what the size of the shirt the material always wants to open and expose things to people.  DH said it's okay because that just means you have big boobs.

    I'm hungry.

I also planned on starting my workout routine today but we won't be home until 9 or so and I know I won't want to do anything after that time.

I have given up button up shirts for this very reason. I used to wear an under shirt all the time with the button up, but then I would spend all day tugging on the under shirt because it always seemed to ride up. Maybe someone should try and invent a button up that doesn't do this- every woman one buy them!

    My B&M- it's Monday........

  • I had the button up shirt issue too.   I don't wear them often, but the undershirts at NY&Co. fit great and don't move around.   I wear them almost every day.

Yes, this!  I wear button ups a lot.  I love the shirts from NY&Co.  I also like shirts from Banana - but NY&Co. shirts just fit so much better for me.  Not that I have big boobs, though.

  • I got a little nostalgic after seeing Bobbileigh's picture Saturday and went and put a few on my FB.  It was good to see them again.  I asked Bill last night when we could get married again.  He didn't answer.  I said that our five year anniversary would also be the year we both turn 40.  I'm already planning a surprise party for him in my mind.
  • H and I are both 32 and we are the youngest couple in our neighborhood.  The house next door to ours has been on the market for months and I've really been hoping a couple closer to our age would move in, I had dreams of impromptu backyard barbecues, and weeknight happy hours with our cool new neighbors.  Well it finally sold, and I was on pins and needles watching to see who moved in.  It's a retired couple.  They seem nice, but I now have dreams of them complaining about our dogs and yelling at our future kids to keep off their lawn. Sad

I was surprised by how well he had thought it out. It was kind of cute.

I too have the boob issue and also gave up wearing button up shirts. :(

An update on the tire situation: It is covered by a warranty, thank god. The tire is special order, it won't be in until this afternoon around 3, but when I went to the service desk to get the keys to a loaner, they handed me my keys back and told me to drive on it until the new tire got in. Uh, no, you just told me there was a structural defect in the tire - WHY would I drive it? They then offered to put my spare on, I told them I had to go to UTA and back - that wasn't going to work.

They finally put me in a loaner, but only until 6. I have a test tonight, so now I am heading to UTA in hopes that teacher will let me take the test in her office during office hours, which cuts out my 1.5 hours of usual study time I was counting on. :(

Sorry to be so whiny guys, today is just sucking.

  • Boo Leslie!

And it's B&M Monday... whining to totally allowed (and welcomed)!

  • No need to apologize Leslie...today is B&M Monday after all :)  I'm glad they gave you the loaner in the end.

    I have a few more:

The Vitamix sounds really interesting to own but they are 500ish bucks.  No thank you.  Why do things have to be so expensive and why do I have to be so cheap?

I am ringless today because they were not even on my radar until we were on our way to work.

Speaking of kids, I somewhat regret our 2 years wait because that means I only have 8 months left.  Ack.  Where has the time gone?

  • I want to say that some people just annoy me. The end.

I just thought this same thing too.

I would also like to add that I can't STAND people that have to get the last word in... even if they're just repeating themselves... or me.

Oh, mine is work related. :)

  • For you ladies complaining about big boobies and shirts popping open.  Get Fashion tape.  I've always bought it at BB&B.  It is a two sided tape that sticks to all fabrics that I've tried it on.  Put it on the fabric between those two buttons, and no gapping hole!  It is the best stuff ever.

  • I bought two groupons for Canvas on Demand and delegated one to my husband.  He picked his out this weekend and I still haven't a clue which one to do for mine.  Choices.  Choices.

This is what I used to use, but Becky Fowler recommended wig tape, and it really is much stickier.
