Good thing Des&Molly came back from vacation.
I went to WDW when I was 5 and 8 years old, and I loved Epcot both times! I also hated Space Mountain - wouldn't go near it the first time we visited, and hated every minute of it when I was 8. My sister is the daredevil of the family and loved all the crazy rides, and since she was younger than me I didn't want to look like a coward. Otherwise I would not have done Space Mountain at all. My favorite was Big Thunder Railroad. In the countries of the world area, I loved the Viking ship ride (Norway, perhaps?)
XN's uncle is the architect who designed Spaceship Earth (the famous Epcot sphere). True story.

8/23-8/30 - yes I know it will be hot but wanted to take advantage of smaller crowds and better prices...
Girl, we always go to Florida when the crowds are small, hot or not - any other time sucks. You guys will have a blast.
We just booked a trip to Florida on Friday, we're going in October.
Where are you going??
We're staying in Orlando, but we'll be visiting Lakeland and Tampa.
