Re: Caramel or Carmel?
Holy cow!!
Hannah-I also love it when people say Mi-lan (like the city in Italy) instead of My-lan.
I say: Carmel, p-cawn, wash, ornge, creek (not crick), q-pon, all-mund, pop (not soda or coke), I think that's all of them.
Ha! My pet peeve is when people say peen-gwen instead of pen-gwen.
Ok well we know I talk funny LOL so here goes...
I say caramel, pee-can, coopon, orange, soda, what am I forgetting?
I also add random R's to words that don't have them and remove Rs at the end of any word that has one....oh and random Rs disappear in the middle of words sometime. Like Harvard= Hahhvahd, parking=pahking, idea=idear
Caribbean, is it Care-uh-bee-un or Cuh-rib-ee-un?
I use the first.
My town is Salina, pronounced Suh-lie-nuh, often mispronounced Suh-lee-nuh. It drives the locals nuts! The funny thing is, it's in Saline (Suh-leen) county.
LMAO It depends. If I am talking about the place, I say, cuh-rib-ee-un. But if I'm talking about the pirates, I say, care-uh-bee-un. LOL
And we drove through suh-lie-nuh when we went and got the car in Colorado! lol

Ashlee- True on Milan...although I accidentally once said it Italian style and my dad teased me for a week that I was "losing my roots".
I say Care-a-be-in.
Also, what about neither/either?
Do you say "eye-thur" or "Ee-thur"? I say "eye-thur"

I say Cuh-rib-ee-un. And I wish I were there right now!
Hannah - I also say eye-thur and neye-thur.
Chelley - I would love your accent...it's one of my favorite things about visiting Boston! It was the most fun at the two Sox games my sister and I went to in September!
Megan & Chris
I say eee-ther and nee-ther.
But I also regularly use ain't and y'all, so take that as you will. lol

I am with Tisha on this one, depends on the context. I would say I am going to the cuh-rib-ee-un, but would say "Pirates of the care-uh-bee-un."
Chelley-I love boston accents!!
I also say ee-ther and nee-ther, although, I am pretty sure I have said eye-ther in and neye-ther in the past.
