    Random question:

No one would ever see the name Kyler and think it was pronounced "Killer" would they?!

Only the kids who tease them.  It's too close for comfort for me.

Obviously that question gives me away, H and I are pretty much 100% naming the baby Kyler if it's a boy.  But I saw on one of the boards (someone else is using that name for a boy too) that a girl thought it'd get pronounced like the first part of "Dylan."  I think that's extreme, but it did make me think twice.  There's a Husker football player named Kyler and he hasn't been called "Killer" yet so I'm hoping we're in the clear.  :)

I don't think it is a bad name at all, I just think kids will tease with less than ordinary names.  Hell, I got teased for having the name I do because it was the same as the "mother of God" when I was in catholic school.  IDK.

I'm feeling poorly, I did too much yesterday because my mom is crazy.  So, now I'm really paying for it.  But, hopefully I'll be able to relax a bit tonight and feel better tomorrow.

  • I love Charlotte!

I don't mind sharing mine, although these may be changed if we ever get to adopt.(I may try to honor their culture or keep their birth name if we like it).

I tend to like names with cute nicknames but are great stand-alone names too.  I like older names that are known but not top 20.

    Girls:

    Natalie (Nat)

    Alana (lanie)

    Corinna

    Clara

    Lucianna (Lucy)

  • Eh...I've always been in the super secretive camp, but I'm over that lately, haha.  We're pretty set on these names:  Elizabeth Bailey and Tucker Blaine.  They both have a lot of harsh consonants, especially with our last name, but I heart alliteration, so whatever.  I plan on calling the girl Elle.  (Not gonna lie, I was a little sad when Amelia named Ellie, lol)  Both MNs are family names.

HAHA - I've ALWAYS wondered what your super secret names were! I LOVE them! Big Smile  Especially Elizabeth with your last name. Very strong!

As for Kyler - I wouldn't pronounce it killer. But that could be because my best friend's daughter's name is Kyla...so really, to me, being a Bostonian, it's pretty much the same name, just the masculine version. haha

Aw, don't be sad! It just means we both have excellent taste. Big Smile

  • I adore classic names although so many of them are getting super popular now.  As you guys remember my girl name was Olivia but if I was to have # 2 (not likely) I like for girls: Annabelle, Elana, and Emma.  Boys: Brandon, Jacob and Aidan.
