Re: Confessions/Vent/AW
Confession: I got none.
Vent: my step-dad's been gone a year now and it's not any easier.
AW: I got a new "Read." t-shirt and I love it.
Soooo cute! My SIL used Gruman Photography for her babies. I am thinking of using them for when our baby is born, but she is already booking up so I am guessing I have to sign up soon even though I am only 10 weeks pregnant?!?
AW: Next Thursday we have another doctor appointment and my DH will actually be in town to go with. (He is normally OOT for work). We are so excited to hear the heart beat again. After we are headed to Keys for brunch. It should be a special day.
Confession: Luke's grandma died earlier this week. I cried more when my rabbit died two weeks before than I did for her. Same with Luke. I almost feel bad about it...
Vent: While I LOVE Lucy, she's been driving me batty the last couple of days! She's definitely made us realize that we are not ready for kids yet. Also, we just got her fecal lab results and she has roundworm. I looked it up, and I almost threw up a little. Luckily, we've already got her on the dewormer meds so she should be fine soon.
AW: My chances of getting my job back for the fall have greatly increased since I signed my termination papers. No bumps in the English department across the district, and my job is only being posted for internal applicants. Most people don't want to leave the full time job they already have at the mainstream schools for a .67FTE at the alternative site with the "bad kids," so I'm feeling confident that I'll get to come back.
Yes, that was me. I did get pregnant intentionally. My daughter says it was an accident. Hard to say if she is being honest with me about that though.
You are 100% right, planning my baby put me in a whole different place emotionally, even if I was only (almost) 17.
Confession -DH is in St. Cloud tonight so he can take an exam for work bright and early tomorrow and I'm sorta happy about having the house to myself.
Vent - I am ready to throttle my ILs about their subtle and not so subtle "hints" about DH and I having kids pronto. I finally had a heart to heart with DH about it and he agreed that it needs to stop and is going to talk to them. I hope that they can listen to him and the reasons for asking them to be cool and patient and not cause drama. I don't need drama.
Also - I cook 98% of the meals in our house and the arrangement we have is that whoever cooks, doesn't have to clean up (no dishwasher here!). Dh left and didn't do the dishes from last night. eeew.
AW - we managed to pay the significant total we owed on our taxes this year in full and on time.
AW: I've been smoke-free for over three months now! Also, I've lost 15.4 pounds since joining weight watchers in the end of February.
Vent: I started C25K a few weeks ago. Tomorrow I'll do week 3 day 3, and though three minutes doesn't sound like a long time to run, it seems like forever!! The biggest problem I'm having is with breathing...I'm sure all those years of smoking didn't help. I'm betting when I go to the doctor in a few weeks I'll find out I have asthma (hopefully nothing worse), because I had exercise-induced asthma when I was younger. I'm super mad at myself for smoking for all those years.
Confession: I went to the counter-protest at Planned Parenthood in Highland Park today and I seriously cannot comprehend the close-mindedness and non-Christlike behavior of the protestors I saw today. I just don't get it. At all. And, I don't care to.
Confession: I just watched a guy on Oprah (the director of "I Am") talk about how humans take more than they need... and I agree... but I am still about to press the "checkout" button on my J Crew order. A girl needs shorts!
Vent: I had arthroscopic hip surgery on Wednesday, and they gave me way too much medication. Wednesday was not fun. I'm still not eating much, and I still feel a little out of it. Double vent: While DH, mom, and MIL have been super helpful through surgery, my dad and brothers are not... dad texted me that day to see how it went and that was it. One brother texted me two days later, and the other has yet to make any contact. If the situation were reversed, I would have been calling them before and after, etc... It's no life-or-death situation, but I would think I warrant a phone call. Boys.
AW: I'm not taking any of the high dose pain meds they gave me - I took ibuprofen Thursday and nothing Friday. I'd rather be in a little pain than be loopy.
Thanks Dawn! I'm anxiously waiting for the district to post my position so that I can just get the dang application in. What does it look like for you in the fall? Will you be staying where you are now?
Confession: It's been a year and I still really miss my friend who moved to Bulgaria for the Peace Corps. She still has another year to go. I try not make a big deal of it when I talk to her, but it makes me sad.
Vent: Job! Job! Job! I will not go into to detail about the level of dysfunction. Anyone need a school social worker?
AW: I am now down to the weight I was when we got married 3.5 years ago. I put on jeans today that I haven't seen quite awhile. Many more pounds to go, but it feels good.
Have you been checking out EdPost? The jobs are starting to really post now that we're nearing the end of the school year.
Of course, some of my kids could use a social worker, but the budget won't allow it. [>:(]
I check it on a daily basis and have applied for a couple things. Thanks.
I have had 2 hip arthoscopies. I had the first one in 2005 and the second one a year later for torn labral cartilage. I didn't listen to doctor's orders very well and developed scar tissue. Please be smarter than me. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
