What's happening?

Wow, the board is DEAD today. Could it be the gorgeous weather? DS is napping, so I am stuck indoors at the moment. So tell me...

What's new/interesting/happening with you?

Re: What's happening?

  • I am still LOL at hyfagal's description of me. I keep reading it over and over again.

And I am wondering whose head I bit off and whose heart I ate on that day.

SO. Dh has the cold I had and DS had. He is 100000x more pathetic than either of us were. It's annoying. He has not left the bed all day.

I reminded him that I had this same cold and still worked/took care of DS/walked the dog/nursed/cooked dinner/etc etc.

  • Well, we're finally moved into the new place....although our stuff is EVERYWHERE.  And I have no idea where half of the things I need areSmile

I plan on giving my notice at work in a few weeks, so that makes me very happy....and slighty apprehensive about finding a new job.  Going to take a few weeks off first and visit home (FL).  If anyone knows of openings, that would be helpfulWink  Until then, super busy at work.

Looking forward to some warmer, non-rainy weather!

Another month of TTC, but with the move and so much going on, I would not expect anything but lovely AF to show.....we'll see.

For those of you who aren't myself or Punky, here is how Punky was described this afternoon by a bumpie:

"I refer to you in my head as PunkyBruiser. On first encounter I was like "Hey I watched that show too! T+hat basically makes us BFFS." Then you ripped someone's head off and ate their heart and I was like "MusicDoo do doMusic" and walked away slowly as to not attract your attention and start the chase. Something tells me I don't have to worry about my heart if I'm not a dillhole though."

It really makes me LOL too!

  • GL cwbykitty! And congrats on the move!

What kind of job are you looking for?

  • We're making an offer on a house in Stoughton tomorrow (eeek!)

  • Thanks for the PB recap, LadyE.  You know my nosy self was totally wondering what that was all about :)  Do we start calling you Bruiser now, Punky?  Although that makes me think of the chihuahua in Legally Blonde.

What's new with me...got a few travel plans that have popped up on my calendar.  Going to Chicago for work for a couple of days next week and hoping to hit up a restaurant I've been dying to try (Girl and the Goat).  Dining alone sucks (at least to me) but for a good food, I'll do it.  Then we're headed to Arizona in a few weeks to see MIL. I haven't posted about it, but we found out last month that she has lung cancer and she's been undergoing chemo and radiation treatments.  She seems to be responding well so far, but these next two treatments are when she'll likely really start feeling side effects so we're going out to help and support.

Oh, and as LadyE already knows, I suck and might have to miss the GTG this weekend because I just found out that one of my volleyball groups is probably going to schedule our tournament final that day :(  It's not a sure thing yet, but most likely I won't be able to meet you guys then.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • I have laryngitis.  Yesterday I was having a tough time talking at school and by the time I got home I had no voice beyond a whisper.  I try talking and all you hear is a rush of air.  It still hasn't come back.  I'm debating taking tomorrow off but it's class picture day (crummy day to miss).  It's very hard dealing with a 10 month old (10 months today!) when I can't make any noise  (am amazed at how much easier it is to communicate when I do have one ... she can't make words yet but it really is amazing how much she seems to understand). It's especially hard to deal with this when my normally wonderful DH is being grumpy and telling me to "speak up."  This sooo not his normal behavior and it's incredibly frustrating.

Thanks!!!  I went to school for Fashion Merchandising, then Accounting.  Accounting because it was practical, but it can be soo boring.  So basically, I don't have a straight-forward answer to your question Smile I definately want to work for a company that believes in their employees and has prospects for growth.  Obviously I would like to work for and with nice people, who are motivated and believe in teamwork.  I would like to eventually have more of a creative role, which I'm hoping to go back to school soon to help with that transition.  Wow, I sound like I'm writing a cover letter Smile...Basically, anything Accounting related, office management, no sales....I would love to work for a food or clothing company.  Thanks again!

  • It was so nice out!  I had DoggieCrushing out and about today (and yesterday) a lot because I really need to get him to behave when he sees another dog.  I am getting nervous about when the baby comes.  I want to be able to go for a walk with both baby and dog, but as of now if he sees a dog he really doesn't like he pulls like heck.

DH is/was out of town.  He is supposed to be home now, but his flight is delayed.  He is still stuck at the airport.

My DH is very much like this too!  Ha ha ha.

  • Rock, I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL. I hope she responds well (and quickly) to the treatment.

Dr. L- I'll keep my fingers crossed that the offer is accepted and you're moving in in no time!

Kiwi, I hope you're feeling better soon!

I have spent all day in a foul mood because I got a whopping 2 hours of sleep tonight, and every little thing that could go wrong did.  Plus, I had the most annoying applicant ever call me, and I'm mad at myself for acquiescing to her stupid request because I just wanted to get off the phone and go home (she called at 445).  I hope tomorrow is better. Meh.

  • Oh Rock, I'm sorry about your MIL!

I have nothing new with me. DS went to the doctor today (18lbs 1oz, 26.5in). SIL's documentary came out on DVD today so I bought a copy, of course.

  • I was pretty busy at work today. I came home, had some dinner, and now I'm sitting here watching glee.

  • Something fun... I just signed up for a two week, adult beginner ballet class with the Boston Ballet that will run the first two weeks of August... I'm gonna get my butt kicked, but I'm soooo excited!

  • Morning Ladies!

Hmmm...what's new. Well, DH and I went down to Atlanta last week to job hunt/apartment hunt/visit friends. And I have to say, we want to move now more than ever. We knew we wanted to move of course, but after being back for just a few days, we're DYING to get back as soon as we can. Of course, finding jobs first is a must which isn't easy to do. We had great meetings while we were there and we're just hoping that something comes from one of those meetings - sooner rather than later preferably.

Other than that, not much! I've finished up the 2 invitation orders I had - the last batch is going in the mail at the end of the week. So now I have more free time since those are done.

Also, I have to admit, I'm a little nervous for the get together on Sunday! I know I shouldn't be, but I haven't been posting on this board very long so I'm a little shy to actually meet some of you ladies. Embarrassed

  • Don't worry, lburkey. I think everyone is nervous at their first GTG but it only lasts a couple of minutes and then it's just fun. Nesties are generally nice people. And this one is going to be a small GTG so it won't be overwhelming. Now I'm bummed all over again that I probably can't come anymore!

Well apparently I am skeery. And I will not be there.

But I can vouch that a handful have met me and I am not actually all that skeery. At least I don't think so. Or else they wouldn't keep emailing me and talking to me. Right?

  • I can't believe it's only Wednesday.  This week is dragging and I don't think it will ever end.  I started out tired Monday morning and still have not recovered.  I have so much crap to do around the house but I think I might just go to bed at 9 tonight so I will hopefully feel normal again tomorrow.

no tights required... I think I'm going to find some fun yoga clothes. The only thing I do need are ballet slippers... This should be interesting!

  • btw... just to help you get the silly picture in your head of me dancing... I'm 6'2" and 36yo... I have a feeling I'm going to stick out like a soar thumb! : )
