Re: SA Wednesday

  • I said it on TK but I will say it here as well.  I didnt think anything would feel different about being married since we have lived together for 3+ years.  However, I am pleasantly surprised that there is this wonderful feeling in being legally recognized as one family. Also, while I have known for 2+ years without any doubt that we would get married/ be together forever there is something beautiful about saying the words publically that make it legally and religiously binding.

Even though I agreed with you on TK, I will agree with you again! ;)

I concur. I was on cloud 9 for about 3 months after we got married and felt very different than when we were just engaged; and we also lived together prior to the wedding. We have been married almost 9 months and I still would agree that being married feels different than dating/being engaged-in a very good way.

My SA would be that this is the first day in what seems like weeks that there is no rain in the forecast! Woohoo!

Also, finals are quickly approaching and I seem to have lost my motivation. This isn't a good sign.

ETA: Oh yeah. I have one more. I don't understand the point of creating a blog where all you talk about is your kid, and post 37562983 pictures of them. "Entry 1: Today he pooped. Entry 2: Today he ate cereal for the first time! Entry 3: Today he slept most of the day"..... You must have other interesting things going on in your life besides your kid that you could add, too? Maybe? No? Ok.

  • There is a girl in my Body Pump classes every week who is pregnant and one (1!) week away from her due date.  She comes at least twice a week with her husband.

Um... I have the greatest amount of respect for her, like, ever.

  • I am here! I promise I didn't leave you for The Bump, those girls scare me too much! I am in the last crunch time with school with a ton of papers due, but I am here!

Brianna - You were a beautiful bride. Why wasn't I invited? Hahahah.

I have been so tired and hungry the past couple of weeks. I think it is because I am working out so much more (6 days a week - normal full body workout, weights and running 3 miles now with no stops...yah!) and probably need to eat more. DH on the other hand got so excited he made me take a PG test (neg, which I assumed.) People, I haven't even stopped taking BC yet. He is a monster!!

Assuming I'm healthy and have no major blood pressure issues or anything like that, I am determined to workout for the duration of my pregnancy. I know I will feel awful about myself going from someone who works out pretty regularly to not working out for 9 months. Not to mention it helps you drop the weight faster afterwards if you're in shape during your pregnancy!

Oh, me too! ...but one week before she is due?   I'm just blown away.

  • Can I just start off by saying GOOD MORNING Nesties!  :~)

Ok on that note... Bobbileigh, you are precious and I completely agree with you!

My SA for now is well I woke up with a headache today.  BOO

    Hello!  This!!!!

  • Oh, Amanda, I was looking at the pictures you posted of your honeymoon and the one of you in the hotel on the wedding night in your dress is so cute! I LOVE your dress.

Yeah - I would say she is a bad ass. I am not sure exactly what Body Pump is, but it sounds like it might be challenging with a 9-month belly.

I will likely cut out running and the intense cardio I do right now but keep doing everything else.

ETA: Yes! Amanda you are like bridal Barbie in a really good way. Too beautiful! I love it.

  • Leslie & Julie - that was going to be my SA.  SO FREAKING WEIRD.

For those of you that didn't see... my FB status yesterday was "Yeah, I'm making cake balls."  And the comments ensued...

But this girl, that I was friends with in JUNIOR HIGH proceeds to comment this little gem "By the way, you were a beautiful bride.  Why wasn't I invited?"

Are you freaking kidding me?  Weddings make people lose all sense of cooth.  I'm convinced.

  • I just read an article in my Self magazine about a lady that still runs even though she is very much pregnant.  Running is her addiction and the doctor told her it was okay.

Today is such a pretty day.  It's not too hot, it's not too cold.  Very nice.

  • They say if you worked out before you were pregnant, you can workout while you're pregnant. It's a myth that you can't run while pregnant. Now if you've never run a mile in your life, it's probably not smart to start while pregnant.

My friend's dr. Told her it was just about heart rate.

I read that last night and just shook my head.

    That's just ridiculous.

  • Also, this is random but I have lived here for 11 months and I am still shocked by the southern hospitality and the openess of religion in this area.  I never realized there was such a strong cultural difference but now I do.  I have had over 10 interviews tell me the thing that motivates them most is God and at least 1/3 of phone interviews I do have a VM that says God bless or when checking out at the store.  I dont have a problem with this by any means but these things NEVER happen in NE so it has taken some getting use to.  Religion is there but its just not openly talked about in NE.  On the southern hospitality note its just like everyone wants to be your friend and for the most part I like it but sometimes I just want to buy my groceries and not be asked 5 questions about what I am going to make or what I think about this or that item that I bought.
  • DH is trying to add a day to the IL visit and as annoying as that is, it's slightly understandable.  They are having nephews party on a Sunday evening and well we kind of have to go to work Monday morning.  I would prefer not to use a vacation day to be emotionally beat up.

In my overall weird dream last night, Lacey was pregnant.

True, it is also about body temperature. You have to be diligent about not letting your internal temp raise above 101. That goes for hot baths, being outside in the sun too long, everything. I get HOT when I run, probably not to 101, but I also don't love running enough to encounter the risk.

There is a woman who ran a marathon when she was 6 months and there are tons of women who run all throughout pregnancy but then there are also women that miscarry in their first trimester and their doctors tell them to lay off the distance running. It's like everything else in the world - do what you think will work for you.

  • Dh woke me up at 2.30 last night freaking out about our little dog Crispin. Who sleeps in our bed. Who was having a freaking seizure!! We were both so scared. He went to the vet yesterday for yearly shots. He got 4 plus had his blood drawn. He felt like crap all day/evening last night, and was really sore. He was shivering when we went to bed, so we used a towel to snuggle him up in... apparently he had fever from the vaccines, and the towel upped his temp to a point where he had a seizure! So we took turns holding him to keep him calm, sitting in front of the box fan, putting a cold washrag on his back, and finger-feeding him water to bring his temp down. It scared DH so bad that he thought he was going to puke, and went and hung out in the bathroom for a while. Crispin had a second, shorter seizure while I was holding him and DH was in the bathroom. We were up for a full hour trying to help him feel better, and then I couldnt go back to sleep because I was worried. He felt much better this morning, but still a little lazy. But at least he ate some breakfast, so that made me feel better. So needless to say, I'm a little sleepy today.

I am born and raised and the conversation at the checkout still gets on my nerves sometimes. I also have a small problem with the God Bless closure in a business setting. I feel it is unprofessional. Some people disagree, but I think business is one thing and religion is a separate thing. Unless you are Chick-Fil-A, but then your chicken was sent to us by the Lord so we let you mix the two. :)

    Edited for clarity.

Wow thanks so much and you too Leslie!  Y'all are too sweet!

Brianna - um that's just crazy and I don't understand people sometimes!

Bobbileigh - I love the Texas Southern hospitality.

Angie - I'm glad your doggy is OK, how scary.

  • I think it's cute that we're all dreaming about eachother.

You think that means we talk too much?  Nahh...  :)

  • Lacey - ... dreams don't lie!

Oh, I almost forgot.  I just realized the wedding we are attending next week is on Friday.    I am a fan of Friday weddings ( mine was one!) but not when they begin at 4 and have a 3 hour gap between ceremony and reception time.   I hate to be one of "those" people but I will have to join DH for the reception only.   I'm not taking off 1/2 day of work for someone I've never met.
