Um. Ok. I didn't read everyone's responses but that's weird. And I don't buy it. He sounds like a controlling DH who wants her off the boards so he came up with an elaborate story. If it's true, of course I'm sorry for her. But I don't buy it.

Most people are saying that their DH's wouldn't know how to get to the boards much less know how to post, use the terms DH and Nestie and talk the gift exchange thing they have going on. They also thought it was fishy that he was able to go through and delete her "Nestie Friends" from Facebook. How did her DH know who was from the Nest and who wasn't?

OoOoOOoOohh. Good point. Unless she just talked about it/them all the time to him.

Well, maybe. Because I didn't know there were like, gifts involved. Now it's more intriguing.

Yes! On the Getting Pregnant Board you have a secret Nestie for SIX months. They send you gifts and cards the whole time. Cha-ching!

Well then in that case, Brianna, yes I'm KU.

    Yes, yes I am.

But seriously, why would that girl make up all that crap? Are they trying to insinuate that it's her going on there and saying all that stuff?

  • I'm going to have to catch up on the Voice.  I wanted to watch it, but missed it the past two nights.

    Summer,

I understand and I am one that complains about some of the same things repeatedly.

This is me and I know it.  My two big things are IL's and work and I complain about them all the time on here but I know there are people that relate here and you guys know more than anyone else in my life so I'd rather do it here than with others.  I can get it out, get feedback and move on.  But I also feel I am doing something about it (looking for jobs, dealing with coworker issues-well trying to- I got complimented today on how I handle the trouble coworker).  And yes, if you don't do anything to help the situation I don't exactly feel sorry for you.

  • I have to go to a bachelorette party next weekend and I have no idea what to bring and I've never been to one nor did I have one.  I'm not sure if they are keeping it classy or what but I do not want to be like Robin on HIMYM.  I don't even know the girl very well either so any suggestions on what to get her?

Well unless it's like a lingerie party, or sex toy party or something, I didn't think you brought gifts to the bachelorette party....I thought you just showed up and bought the bride a drink or two and watched her get plastered. At least that's how it's worked at all the one's I've been to.

Mine was just a bunch of my girlfriends and I going out. Nothing big, no gifts, etc.

ETA: Jaymi, maybe ask the hostess if gifts are necessary?

Same. We went to dinner, went dancing and I got completely wasted on tons and tons of drinks I didn't pay for.

  • Ditto Summer and Leslie - Someone bought my dinner and I always had a drink.  My MOH brought balloons and feather boas though.
  • Yeah, I would ask the hostess.  I did get gifts at mine, but it was a lingerie party.

They are having a potluck at someone's house and then after the party they will be having a BBQ.  And it may possibly be a bridal shower/bach party mix and they have no registry as they don't do that where they are from and they are kind of eloping in a sense.

Edit: I will ask the hostess so I don't have to worry about this!

Um. Ok, well in that case I have no freakin idea the etiquette on that. I would just straight up ask the hostess so you can be perfectly clear. "Is this a shower? A bach party? A bach party with gifts? A bach party  and  shower? Since she's not registered, what does she want?" Oh, so confusing.

  • So my wonderful boss got us a car to and from DFW for my trip with my sister, and dinner at the place we are going for her birthday (and some spa add-ons for me).  I text my sister all excited and she calls me perturbed because now she has to call up the friend she got to take us to the airport and tell him he doesn't have to--apparently he had to ask off the morning from work.  I'm sorry, but I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

She kind of put a damper on my excitement.

Aww, I'm sorry Stephie. That was really nice of your boss! Maybe she just feels bad that her friend took off work, and now he doesn't have to take y'all? I don't know, maybe she'll snap out of it and be excited again too!

  • DH and I talked and we will be adding a day to our trip to the IL's next month but it's for the best and it actually means less time there when you figure it all up.  The only bad news is that we have to go back in July for his cousins all-weekend-long birthday party.  We more than likely will be going, we just don't know for how long and that will depend on MIL.  May, June and July with IL's is a bit much and there better be a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow.

Yeah - maybe she had to go through a lot of trouble to get a friend to take y'all, then had to be so, so nice when the friend said he would take off work - just to call him and say "never mind".   It's probably a weird position for her.

However, that is so nice of your boss!

  • I am so lost on whatever happened on FB last night. I can't believe I missed the entire thing!

I am super excited about the Royal Wedding, and I say that loud and proud. I will be setting the DVR, then parking my butt on the couch tomorrow as soon as I get up and watching the whole thing. Or at least until I get tired of it.

Yesterday I got the schedule and travel itinerary for my interview next month, and it's a doozy! I get exhausted just looking at it.

Schedule and itinerary? Geez! They aren't messing around! I hope that means you're a very serious candidate!

  • I texted my sister and told her I'd just go by myself to the airport if she doesn't want to.  So far no answer.  I love my sister but she can be very self-absorbed.  I mean, I could have asked my boss for a gift just for me, but I tried to ask for something we could both enjoy and she doesn't even acknowledge it.  Instead she just calls to tell me how put out she is now.

Go look at my facebook wall post from Summer yesterday. The vibe of that post is exactly what was going on last night. LOL.

Did she have a "special" reason why she wanted a ride from that guy friend maybe?

  • I missed this 116 comment post too. I feel left out. Sad

I know I'm a finalist, but I don't know how many finalists there are. I fly out at 11am on a Tuesday, then the interview is 9-4 on Wednesday, then I'll arrive back at DFW at 11:49pm. Whew!
