Re: B&M
Amanda - thanks!
Lacy - I hope everything is okay with your sister.
As for the Osama talk, I'm not happy that a life has been lost. However, this was an evil man that planned multiple attacks that killed thousands of Americans and others. Not just on 9/11, there was also the USS Cole bombing and numerous other bombings in other countries. This man had to be stopped or else he would work to mastermind the killing of many more innocent people. I do not think there is any way he could have been captured without being killed. He would not have allowed it.
As for future attacks, I can see some smaller attacks happen as Al-Qaeda tries to prove that this hasn't affected them. I'm sure there are others that have already stepped into power, as the attacks happened a week ago. Lets just hope they have been weakened enough over the years, that taking out this compound has scattered their efforts even more.
Most of all, the thanks and praise should be to our military for everything they have done to keep America safe for the past decade!

I'm not upset about that, no. I'm upset that it's turning into a political thing at all. Both presidents had a hand in this ordeal, and they both deserve a "nod" so-to-speak, but the credit doesn't belong with either political party. I hate that something like this "victory" is riddled with political separation.
Bio
Brianna I agree. I think the Military is the one that should be getting all of the credit. They risk their lives everyday to keep us safe and free.
I'm also worried about the retaliation. I'm hoping if they do try something that it doesn't go as planned and they realize that it's not worth trying for something bigger!
I also didn't sleep well last night. I woke up coughing all night and now I'm hoarse today.
I had always associated Bin Laden so closely with 9/11 that I wasn't even aware of how many horrible things he had done prior to that. So really, it started during Clinton's administration. And I agree with Brianna that it's not really about which president was in power when it happened, but it had to happen (and I'm about as liberal/Democrat as they come). I don't think death is ever a good thing, but really, this had been going on long enough.
My sister's boyfriend is in the Marine Reserves, and he was there this weekend, and they let him out later than normal yesterday because the threat level had changed. I am assuming now that it had to do with the Bin Laden thing.
B&M: The rain is making me sleepy. I can't stand the voice of one of my coworkers, and she talks incessantly. I have my earbuds in with nothing on, just to muffle the sound of her voice.
I completely agree. We were attacked as a country - not specifically by party. I see this victory as ours as a country - not specifically by party.
Someone just posted this to my facebook, and I thought it was relevant to the discussion:

It is what it is and I just hope that more lives are not lost because of all of this.
Sadly, I think that, whether or not he was killed, there are bound to be more attacks.
This morning Donald Rumsfeld called it an intelligence victory. He said that we've long had the means/power to make it happen, but the information/intelligence was the key component.
I saw that today too from a friend of mine, and I liked it.

I agree, and I would place them in the "military category". Isn't that part of the military?
Bio
Yes, I would think so.
They are a separate part of the government.
So, on a lighter note...
Does anyone else think that In-N-Out coming here will kind of ruin the novelty?
I'm not someone who eats fast food dinners on a regular basis (once every couple of months), and while sure I will enjoy the burgers here every now and then... it kind of ruins some of the anticipation of my West Coast travels. It's part of the fun!
I have never had In-N-Out before so I am looking forward to being able to try them because right now the only fast food I really enjoy is Chick-fil-a
I can see your point on this. I'm excited about it, because as you know I don't like to travel via airplanes - so this way I can enjoy it without getting on a plane.
I have never had it either so I am looking forward to trying them!

I got all in a tizzy last night about something one of cousins asked me. I am trying to decide if I want to bring it to the board as the off chance of it all being found slightly outweighs my need to vent.
Just for a kernel of the issue: She broke off her engagment (and subsequent 7 year relationship) the day after my wedding to start dating my brother in law. I have lived in a near constant state of drama when dealing with her since then.
I filled my last month of birth control pills Friday and I have to admit it scares me quite a bit to think about everything. I am excited for a child but also the enormity of the life change is daunting to think about.
ETA: I am also in the yay he's dead, scared of retailiation, a little mournful at the idea of someone dying even if he was a homicidal f*uckhead camp.
I love you.

I'm tired of everyone acting like children at work. I don't care if you are mad because you weren't told something that is none of your business, it's pretty ridiculous you won't answer your phone because you see me on caller ID. You should know dang well I only call when I absolutely must.
The only thing I have to add to the OBL talk is that I do not look forward to hearing all of these conspiracy theories that will likely follow. My first thought last night was about The Donald and what he would want proof of next.
Bobbileigh, Lacey, and Sarah - good points!
ETA: I'm eating Greek yogurt for the first time today. It's em, interesting.
I didn't like it. I know it's supposed to be better for you but I just didn't like it at all.
When I was in LA two years ago, I found one but it was sort of in a median (think Filter Building in NYC) by the airport. It was just a little too difficult to get to but I think there's one going up in Las Colinas right?
Yeah, I like the flavor but the texture will take some getting used to. It's kind of like blended smooth cottage cheese, in a way. I'm going to keep eating it I think because of all of the protein and vitamins. Plus it doesn't have the artificial sweetener taste.
Julie - Frisco and Allen are opening this month. There will be one in Dtn Ft Worth and in Garland. I think pretty soon they will be on every corner.
Frisco and Garland are the two that I know about.
You ladies have pretty much nailed the OBL situation, so I won't say anything more on it.
My B&M is that DH left town again today - this time to go and play with his dad and brother in the mud. I was sort of okay when he first started talking about it last week, because it was supposed to just be Wed-Fri, but then they changed their minds and so he left today and isn't sure when he's coming back - maybe Thursday or so, or he may just stay at the deer lease until the weekend, and then meet me at my parents. I am sad, because later this month he's supposed to leave for another OOT job, for 3+/- weeks. Today I feel at the bottom of his priority list
Try mixing fresh berries into it, that helped me at first with the tangyness and the texture, now I LOVE it.
