A foot reindeer?!  No way, I need lessons on this right away!

Yes way!  You stick your foot (not the toes though) in paint for the face and then use your hands to make the antlers.

Hey Lacey- I have an easy solution to your lack of art work around the house: have kids!

    Hahaha, yeah Lacey!!

...and wow, my reindeer would have a lifesize head.  I have really big feet.

You are just determined for me to have children, aren't you?  Well, my killer cramps are a good sign that it's not happening this month.  ;)

Brianna - I'm sorry.  I get that way sometimes.  Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.  Dinner, drinks, etc.

Tiffany - how much do you charge for a hand turkey?

    Happy Birthday Lacy!

  • Dear Amanda,

My baby is so beautiful and I just can't even think about doing that to her.  Thankfully most of hers are on her belly and chest.  She's get a little pissy when I do a lot of brushing.

    Dear Student,

You annoy me.  Like a lot.  Like so much I think about doing things that I've never thought of before.  I'm so glad you are a senior so that I don't have to work with you next year.

    Dear OMH's,

I know that we share a lot here so I was hoping you could help me out.  I'm thinking that it's time for me to go back on an anti-depressant.  Things are becoming a little too much sometimes and I have felt this way before.  I was on Paxil CR at one point many years ago for about six months and was wondering if any of you have any experiences with the current options out there.  There's one that I don't want to go on (I can't remember the name) but it takes a long time to get into your system and then, if you stop taking it, there's a horribly bad crash. TIA!

  • Anna - Oh yes, find a scrapbook location and I'll be there!

Brianna - Oh my girl, I'm sorry.  Maybe y'all could get away for a weekend and do something fun.

Ladies - I want to PIP my kitty, but for some reason it's not working.  I'm using photobucket, copy URL and tree upload and nothing.  ???

  • Dear allergies-

    You heard Michelle!

    Dear head-

    Seriously?

    Dear a certain person-

I am glad next week is your last.  You are wearing me out.  I also don't get why you come ask for help as you talk over me the entire time and do what you want anyways even though it's wrong.

    Dear grandma-

I can't express how much I hate that you don't have a land line and only a stupid cell phone that has no reception.  You laugh when I say "What are you going to do when you need help?  Crawl to the street while having a heart attack?"  Yes that is a bit funny but seriously, it is no laughing matter.  I also know you feel young at heart and think you are 35 but you aren't.

    Dear student nesties-

    Good luck on your finals.

    Dear The Tomato fans-

If you have not heard, they are reopening next Friday but in Sanger.

    Dear package from amazon-

Hurry up and get here pretty please!  I'm super elated to try the tea.

  • Julie - I'm not familiar with the medications, but I'm really sorry.  :(

Lacey - My going rate is $250, but I will give you a discount... $50.  Seriously, that's a steal!! It could be worth millions someday. ;-)

  • Brianna - I got that way right after our wedding, I hope it passes soon and you start feeling better. For me it just took taking time out for myself and not allowing things to stress me out too much.

Julie - I am not familiar with the meds either. Do you have a good GP you could ask?

Tiffany - Maybe you should look into taking this show on the road. You could make foot reindeer and hand turkey custom art for wedding favors! There's some money to be had there.

Amanda - Posting pics on TN sucks. I have the most trouble with it, so I am no help.

I am tired, stressed, sad and feel like I'm getting myself into a rut.  I seem to not be able to pull myself out of a funk and it just keeps getting worse.  I need a break.

    - me

Ok, fine. You can be my budddy. Geez.

But no really, I'm sorry you're having a hard time right now :( Wish I could help!

No, I've mentioned it to him on my last three visits since my mom got sick and he really seems indifferent.  Never mind the fact that he doesn't know how to read charts and kept comparing my January chart with my June chart when he didn't even bother to see that I had improved from September.  I need to go see someone else but it's hard to be a new patient.

I was on a natural supplement that was supposed to be for "positive mood enhancement" for a long time, called St. John's Wart. I don't know if that would be enough for your needs, or even close to what you're looking for. But, I stopped taking it about 6mo-a year ago and haven't noticed any huge side effects. So, either it wasn't working all those years, or I didn't really need it anymore. But, at least it's not hard to come off of because it's natural.

    Sorry I'm not more help.

What a great idea Leslie.  You are wanting a change, right Tiffany?  And you can double the price because of the word wedding.

  • I just read all of these at once and only have a minute so if I miss someone I am sorry.

    Lacy,

    Happy Birthday!!

    Brianna,

I am sorry, do you have any idea what the root cause is?

    Julie,

I am so sorry!  I would definately talk to a DR.  I am on anxiety meds but everyones bodies and circumstances create a need for different meds and a Dr who knows your health history and issues could likely help you out.  Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you!

Julie  - Is Grand Prairie too far for you to drive for a GP? It's at 360 and Post and Paddock, just a little ways off 183. My GP is amazing and generally doesn't have too long a wait to get into, my entire family sees him. He helped my mom deal with some depression and life change issues and she swears by him.

You guys are brilliant.  I might even charge triple the price, because I can.

I don't have experience with those types of meds but DH was on Paxil, I think, and he was taken off of it for some reason and then he was on Xefor (that doesn't sound right) for a few months.  Like Summer, I tried St. Johns Wart for a bit but I was never consistent and I've been told you really need to watch what other meds you are on when you take it because of the interactions. I've been trying get happy tea from The Republic of Tea just to try it; I don't know if it actually makes you happier.

Do you mean it's hard to find a place that is accepting new patients or just having to go see someone new and having to go over your history, etc. that is hard?   The latter is a pain but sometimes change can be good and in the long run can be better for you, especially if he's not listening to you now.  It's like a shot or ripping off a bandaid- it sucks at first.

Does therapy interest you at all?

Well, you originally quoted me $50, so I'm thinking you can't increase the price for me.  I have a paper trail! :)

Julie - I'm of no help, but I am really sorry you are feeling this way.  :(

  • Julie - I'm so sorry you're feeling this way.  I really am no help either.  I will keep you in my T&Ps though! :)  I'm here to listen too.

I will honor your price. In fact, I will make you one for free if you agree to go post online and tell everyone how amazing of an artist I am and how everyone needs a hand turkey and foot reindeer from me.

    Lacy,
    Happy Birthday!

    Summer,
I'm with Tiffany, I've never worried about my birthday and some years I do have to stop and think to figure it out.  I'm coming up on the big 3-0 this summer, but I'm excited.  Mostly b/c DH and I will throw a huge party for both of our birthdays.  Yay!

    Tiffany,
I think tripling the price is more like it since you are doing them for weddings.

    Julie,
I'm really sorry to hear this.  The only think I can say is that when I approached the year mark after my dad passed, I was really depressed.  My doctor said to wait it out, it was normal, and call her in a few months if things don't look up.  I started exercising a lot ( regular exercise makes me so much happier, not immediate, but after a few weeks of regular workouts) and eating healthy, and it passed.

Long story short, you are going through a time that is really difficult, try and change some other things in your life and see if that helps, along with time.

  • Dear Nesties,

I know many of you are religious and attend church regularly so I thought you might be able to lend some suggestions.  Matt and I have decided we need to get back into the habit of going to church but we need to find one we both like.  Finding one we both agree on is very difficult.  Matt was raised Baptist and knows what he believes, I was not raised anything and I still have ALOT of questions and no firm beliefs.  I like a church based on the people and how comfortable they make me feel and if the pastor can articulate what he is saying in a manner that I understand.  Matt likes a church based solely on their beliefs.  In Omaha it took us 11 churches to find one we both liked for our different reasons so we will likely need to try out quite a few.  They can either be baptist or non-denominational.  We live in Carrollton but I am pretty open to anything within a 15-20 min radius and we prefer the more contempary services.

    Any suggestions?

-Girl whose trying to give it another shot.

  • Michelle and Tiffany,

Yeah, for me, I think it's more of a mental thing. I just am not exactly where I thought I would be at this age, and I still haven't quite gotten over that yet. I think that's why every birthday kinda makes me a little sad. But, I'm working through it. It's definitely not an overnight process. I'll get there.

    Dear OMHs,

I bought oil paint and a small canvas on Saturday.  I saw on HGTV that this one guy paints his own pictures to decorate houses.  So, I thought, I can do that!  Yeah, the paint and the canvas and the "How to Paint..." book are all still in the bag on my table.  I think I am experiencing a creative block.  Haha.

Mark and I are currently doing this too except we prefer more traditional services which are difficult to find.   Do you have a preference on the size of the church?  Prestonwood Baptist is huge and very contemporary, but the pastor there is awesome.  I love to listen to him.

It's in technically in Plano, but just barely.  Its about 10 minutes away from me, and I bet its pretty close to you too.

    Hey BL-

How was the visit to Tyler?  Everything go okay?

It was okay the wedding was pretty and we didnt spend a ton of time with his mom and sis so not a lot of opportunities for conflict.  We went to church then lunch and they tried to get me to talk about my opinions on the church service (I know this is a trap and no good could come of it) and luckily Matt interjected and gave his opinion then changed the subject.

We go back next weekend to help them pack and move and since they are leaving their family house and its mothers day weekend I am sure emotions will be high and we will be around them all weekend so I will have to be on my best behavior and watch what I say.  Should be fun :)

I started going to Watermark in North Dallas shortly after I moved up here almost 3 years ago and I love it.  DH loves it, and they have a TON of resources to get connected and involved if that is something you and your DH wish to pursue.  They are non-denominational, and Bible-based.  They have 2 morning services and one evening on Sundays.  It is a large church, which is something that has intimidated me in the past, but there is something different about this place.  The pastor has a very "real" way of communicating things and connecting with the members.  Hope this helps! :)

A very good friend of mine goes to Watermark and he loves it. LOVES it. If DH and I decide to start going to church anytime soon, we will definitely be checking out Watermark.

  • Sorry for the post and run, I had an interview candidate show up an hour early.  I am all for being early but seriously!

@Tiffany- I will definately give it a try.  I dont mind size as long as I dont get the feeling that all their money is going to make the church bigger and prettier and not to missions, charities and communities

@Ldmainsy- I will have to check this one out at well because I am still confused by alot and have tons of questions so having the pastor really explain things in a way I can understand is the most important thing for me,

If they both have websites I will pull both of their belief pages up for Matt and see if he has any issues before we go.
