It's really good, and I don't like mandarin oranges. But here's how I make it:
Cool whip
vanilla puddidng
2c milk
2 small cans mandarin oranges
1 package fudge stripe cookies
Mix milk and pudding in bowl, fold in cool whip, add oranges. Chill. Add crushed cookies before serving and mix in.
If you use this recipe

It is SO good.
This is what I do, with two exceptions.
1. I use sliced peaches instead of mandarin oranges.
2. I use 1 cup buttermilk instead of 2 cups milk.
If I can find them, I use the mini fudge stripe cookies instead of crushing the regular sized ones.

I make mine with buttermilk too. I love this salad!
